Since I've been reblogging more varied posts to this blog than just Disney stuff of late, I wanted to ask, what sense of my personality do you get from this blog? Do I give a positive impression? Just in general, what do you think of... me... from the sense of myself I project upon this blog? Am I leaving a mark in my time here, and what is that mark?

I love Winter’s Tale so much like I know we’re all obsessed with “exit pursued by bear” but that’s literally only the turning point the first half of the play is just about the most devastating tragedy Shakespeare wrote but then “exit pursued by bear” happens and a dude named Time comes on stage like “prithee, one two skip a few” and the play literally becomes an insane wool shearing party full of dancing and sex it’s so fucking batshit.

In relation to your Prospero ask, can we please talk about who sinister the Duke is in Measure for Measure. He’s literally Prospero but worse! Prospero but “I’m going to torture this innocent girl for the sake of testing her moral conviction, even though I have no authority to judge anyone’s faith, and then manipulate her into marrying me”. He plays puppeteer with everyone and causes unneeded suffering only to “fix” everything in the end it’s horrible! Idk if you’ve read Measure for Measure but I’ve needed somewhere to talk abt my hatred for his man

measure for measure maybe shakespeare’s insanest play <333 a tragicomedy. famously pious lech uses his power to persecute whores and prey on a nun and is only punished by being forced marriaged to a poor woman he hates. nun who only asks what more restrictions can be put on her in god’s name and never does anything wrong and at the end is also forced marriaged to an old duke posing as a helpful friar who only reveals his intentions at the very end and horrifically recontextualises all his actions in the play. the only person who dies at the end is the guy who was rude to the disguised duke who gets forced marriaged to a whore whipped and hanged and it is played dead straight as a happy ending. what was he cooking !!!

rosalind from as you like it was insane (affectionate) for all that. she disguises herself as a guy & then upon meeting the guy she is in love with (also in love with her) in the woods decides to pull the greatest gender stunt in the world and convinces him to roleplay wooing the lady he's in love with (her) with her (as a man) pretending to be herself. and incredibly he goes along with calling this handsome young man by his girlfriend's name & wooing her & halfway getting gay married just in time for her (a woman disguised as a man roleplaying a woman) to break out the line "I will be more jealous of thee / than a barbary cock-pigeon over his hen" leaving us with a stunning Four Levels of Gender (1. woman 2. woman disguised as a man 3. woman disguised as a man roleplaying a woman 4. woman disguised as a man roleplaying a woman who (in her persona as a woman) then refers to herself as a 'cock-pigeon' and the man she loves as a 'hen')

As it always is with TERFs, there's no good or bad actions, just good and bad teams. It's useless to cry hypocrisy, like of course I notice when they say TRAs are always spewing violent rhetoric and then say I should be fed into a woodchipper without missing a beat. I notice when I'm accused of emotional manipulation because I expressed upset over being told I was making up my sexual assault just to get my own rocks off at the stories people offer me in support, and then those same people morally harangue me for sending them mass harassment and nearly causing a suicide. TERFs are living in a fantasy world where they are the first ones to stand up to any given trans woman, they think their pain alone is based in long standing trauma while my pain is just desserts. It's not hypocritical, it is perfectly consistent and unanimously applied wickedness.
