My biggest secret yr related is that I had access to part of the script for s3 so I knew way in advance about several kinda major scenes (hallway scene included but only part of it).

And I want to give you a little something from it bc I have been seeing the discussion surrounding both the hallway scene and the one right before that, which is Wille proposing to Simon to go back to his room to have sex.

In the script there is not only the lines we hear, there is also a little part that serves the actors to know which emotion they should be portraying and when Simon tells Wille that he doesn’t enjoy singing as much as he did before, that description for W/Edvin is that he finds it sad and he swallows a lump in his chest before asking him.

Which I think should have been portrayed kinda better tbh maybe with a gesture, so it would have saved us the unnecessary “drama” but alas.

@youngroyals-events Here is my contribution to day 9 of Wille’s month :) The prompt was ‘riding.’

Simon finds it in a charity shop while he’s out with Rosh and Ayub. A grey, acid wash t-shirt with a flaming skull on the front. ‘Born to ride.’ He changes into it before dinner. Wille stares.

“I know,” Simon laughs, “it’s so dumb, right? I had to have it.”

“Yeah,” Wille nods, swallows. Born to ride. Hmmm.

They’re interrupted by Simon’s cousins, who come barrelling through the door without so much as knocking. Linda’s sister has been staying with them all week, banishing Wille and Simon to the living room so her kids can sleep in Simon’s bed. Wille both loves and hates the situation. Loves feeling like part of the family, hates the lack of privacy. He offered to check them into a hotel for a few nights, but Simon doesn’t want to take any ‘royal handouts.’ They haven’t gone this long without sex since they got back together.

“What’s up?” Simon tilts his head, reaching out to squeeze Wille’s fingers.

Born to ride. Those three words conjure up images of a warm spring evening, a shirt discarded in a hallway, Simon’s hands in his hair.

“Nothing.”

He touches Simon more than usual. Brushing up against him while they help with the cooking, sitting a little closer than he needs to, gently stroking Simon’s thigh under the table.

“You’re being a bit full on,” Simon chastises, when Wille subtly tries humping him while he does the dishes.

“Sorry,” Wille steps back, “it’s just that we haven’t, for a few days, and I miss you. And now the shirt and everything.”

Simon turns to face him. A sunny, only slightly evil smile slowly spreads across his face, “Wille, is my ‘born to ride’ t-shirt turning you on?”

“Yes,” Wille admits, fingers fiddling with the hem of it.

“Because you love it when I ride you?”

Wille groans.

Simon loops his arms around his waist, drawing him into a half cuddle, half dance in the middle of the kitchen, “I miss you too, you know.”

“Mmm,” Wille hugs him tighter, nudges Simon’s nose with his.

“Maybe…”

“Yes?”

Simon huffs, still smiling, “Maybe getting a hotel wouldn’t be the worst idea.”

Their lips meet, playful and happy and soft.

“I can leave the shirt on, too.”

@youngroyals-events here we go for day 9 (prompt: riding).

The first time Simon goes to visit Wille after they've gone back to school - different schools, and isn't that the worst? - he's early and Wille isn't back yet. He sits and waits in Wille's bedroom for him to return from wherever he is. He's stupidly nervous; they haven't seen each other in three weeks. The nerves are good nerves, though, sending excitement pulsing through his bloodstream at the prospect of being able to do all the things in person that they've had to restrict to the confines of a phone screen.

Wille arrives eventually, breathless and full of apologies for the traffic that has delayed him, slightly pink and so, so full of joy at seeing Simon again, and all of Simon's nerves dissipate in an instant as soon as he gets to feel Wille's lips on his again. He's distracted with kissing, and touching, and smelling, and tasting, all the things that he hasn't been able to do on the phone, to the extent that he doesn't notice what Wille is wearing until they eventually pull away from each other so that they can get their breath back a little.

He has already noticed that Wille has a slightly funky smell about him, but it's one that he's used to: you don't live for seventeen years with a horse girl as a sister without being familiar with it. On Wille, though? That's new. And when he finally gets to look at Wille fully, he is shocked and stunned to see that Wille is wearing jodhpurs. Honest to god jodhpurs, and Simon is immediately obsessed.

'Since when do you ride?' he asks incredulously.

'Since they don't have a rowing team at my new school,' replies Wille.

Wille stands there as Simon walks around him, inspecting him like he is a prize pony himself.

'I think you need to wear this outfit more often,' says Simon, standing behind Wille and admiring the extreme clinginess of the fabric to Wille's body. 'For... reasons.'

'Yes,' says Wille. 'For riding.'

'Exactly,' smirks Simon.

did you watch lisa’s prp interviews and did she say anything worthwile? i’m curious but unable to watch for some time. i know you can be trusted to give a truthful ”review”.

Yes, I watched both parts.

There were some interesting details, the interviewer asked some really good questions but Lisa did sidestep some answers in my opinion.

The main points from the first part were probably:

Marcus was suppose to have a sort of redemption arc in s3. Simon was suppose to think he talked to the press only to find out later he didn't. Why that would have been necessary is beyond me, I am glad they cut that

She also finally acknowledged again that Marcus is a shitty character but they didn't want to highlight that too much during s2 promo that's what led to that unfortunate deep talk with Edvin and Rojda praising Marcus that got a lot of backlash from fans

Lisa also said the fandom sees things differently then how they were intended to. For example the karaoke scene in s2. Fans were very critical about Marcus exposing Simon like that after everyone had seen the sex tape but for Lisa that wasn't a problem. In her mind, Wille denying the sex tape erased it from the public knowledge and it wasn't an issue for Simon anymore. To me, that probably explains why they never dealt with any trauma on the show but it's a strange take from Lisa. Rumours and gossip hardly ever die down and dissappear

Wille's song was a big issue, like they already adressed in s3 promo. Omar's label stepped in and offered to re-write or submit other songs. When Omar went to the studio with Lisa, director Linnea and their music supervisor they could work it out though and record a version everyone was happy with

I saw that twt went wild with that each YR season should have been 10 episodes but Netflix cut it or whatever, that's not what Lisa said in the interview. Lisa said she obviously would have loved to have more time or episodes but they initially pitched 6 episodes and that's what they got. They couldn't changed that later. The budget was for 6 episodes. There was never a discussion that it should have been more, there were no budget cuts, etc

There was however a discussion with Netflix about cutting the sex scene in s3. They had to fight to keep it in but for a show that had shown heterosexual sex it was important to show queer sex as well. The cast and crew was very adament it had to be done

Talking points in the second interview:

The process Felice goes through in being true to herself with her hair and calling out the structural racism is something Nikita went through as well and those were very important scenes for everyone. They were very happy to bring back the actor playing Poppe to have the father/daughter-scene

Same goes for the return of Micke. Lisa felt he had to be absent in s2 because of the rift that was created amongst him and his kids but it was important for s3 to bring him back. Micke is based on a person in Lisa's life and she very much relates to that storyline

For Lisa it was necessary to throw Madison under the bus. Yes, she has been more woke than other students at Hillerska and has been a better friend to Felice than Stella and Frederika but she is still a posh girl at a bordering school and being posh/privileged trumps being woke, just as being posh/privileged trumps being queer in Stella's case. "You can be a lesbian and mean" which is fair but poor Maddy, she deserved better

Lisa understands that Stederika kissing at the end feels rushed to some fans. She explained that everything that happens is told through the eyes of one of the main 5. So Sara witnesses Stella having feelings for Frederika in s2. In s3, Felice takes over that role and sees them dancing and flirting at the camp and then kissing at the end. To show us more of Stederika's relationship progressing, Felice needed to have spend more time with them which didn't happen and personally I am glad they didn't include that

The same is true for Rosh and Ayub. Lisa would have loved to have them be more present and even thought about having them transfer to Hillerska but we only see them with Simon, so it's limited

Lisa discussed Wilmon skinny dipping with Edvin and Omar, it was the only intimacy scene they discussed. And for everyone zooming in on the butts (I know you did), they are wearing skin colored garments

There was some more on August and the lake scene and the car scene but Lisa had discussed that in other interviews before. If you have the time, it's a good watch and there is still a third part coming.
