I’m so fucking sick of diabetes jokes. They’re everywhere, like people somehow think it’s ok to make fun of a disease like that.
“that’s got so much sugar, it’ll give you diabetes!”
first of all THATS NOT HOW ANY TYPE OF DIABETES WORKS.
Second of all, even if it was, and people ‘gave diabetes to themselves’, it’s just not funny! Who gave you the right to make fun of a literal disabled person just because you think they deserve it because they ‘brought this onto themselves’? that’s fucked up! All types of diabetes have a genetic component, and specifically for type 2 diabetes, you don’t know that person’s circumstances. Recent studies are showing links between type 2 diabetes and poverty, as sugary overprocessed food like fast food is cheaper and sometimes more accessible. And once again, there’s still a genetic component.
‘that’ll give you diabetes’ jokes are just not funny. They’re insensitive, and as a type 1 they’re just a constant reminder that I have a disease that is heavily misunderstood and weighs on me every day. I’ve heard like 10 in the past week and just now heard another one and it was the last fucking straw. DON’T MAKE THEM.

I don't think Norton died in the game against Orpheus:
Part of this is because of the roles each character plays in-game. (On top of that, his status is unknown on the Wiki so it's not confirmed)
Despite what the game has been telling us otherwise, it's still only from Orpheus' perspective of the game and once again, he's an unreliable narrator as he still sees Little Girl in the game and not Alice. He also saw himself against the Hunter when it's pretty clear at this point that he was the Hunter.
Lets look at the roles of the Da Capo gang in game:
Norton- Contain and his style is harassing.
Melly- Contain, hers is running.
Fredrick- Decode
Alice- Rescue
And then Orpheus was the Nightmare, the Hunter.
Orpheus as the Hunter, sets his sights on Alice, Norton betrays the deal and starts trying to distract Orpheus to give Alice a chance to run. I definitely think he got badly injured by Orpheus which could be seen as "Eliminated." Melly and Fredrick are busy trying to decode and Alice opens the gate at first ready to run but turns back.
She goes to help her fellow survivors who are still being hunted and she confronts Orpheus who was probably at least attempting to kill Norton at that point. She probably hits him with something, rescues her fellow survivor as everything around starts burning. She leaves Orpheus behind as he is pretty much just...catatonic because she went against him.
There's an interesting quote from Nightmare in his 2023 deduction:
"Human brains can alter memories to suit themselves. This momentary happiness is nothing but an illusion."
The idea of Alice of all people essentially rejecting him is something I don't think he could truly comprehend and it just breaks his brain further. Especially if from his perspective she chose Norton simply by helping him. This is why he always only sees the Little Girl, or at least a reason as to why.
As to what happened to the Da Capo group afterwards. It's possible they needed to go into hiding to avoid the other powers behind the Manor games, especially Alice after discovering a lot of info in the diary she brought back.
