Clair, the Elemental Master of Clairvoyance

Small Warnings for murder mentions, nothing graphic though. Might be a little cliche but oh well I had fun

Name: Clair <- may change Age: Immortal from long ago. Human form looks about Late-20s Gender: woman | She/Her and It/Its Elemental Power: Clairvoyance, meaning it can see into the past and future. Alignment: Villain.

Main Goal: To take back the Element of Time and become a god. Afterwards planned to remain passive and 'watch over' Ninjago. All of this is to fulfill a promise She made very long ago.

Methodology: Prefers to take things slow, if It has anyone to target It will take Its time and eavesdrop using possessed mantises- other bugs too, She just prefers mantises- and eventually introduce Herself with Her human form. It's an Explorers Club member to cover for the long absences It often has to take to retreat to It's cave, it's also a cover for why Clair is trying so hard to find very specific ancient ruins. She doesn't typically go after just anyone, leaving the majority of people alone.

She mainly targeted the previous Masters of Time, with varying degrees of success. Her method for taking their element, more so their Elemental Essence*, was cruel. All She’d do was reach into their chest, recite a spell, and rip it out like its an organ. It was eventually able to harvest the Elemental Essence of a few masters, until it escaped It's core and moved onto a new generation, over and over again.

*Elemental Essence is a thing I made up for Clair and this subsequent AU, it’s basically an elemental masters soul and where their element sort of comes from within them. They aren't typically visible as a physical thing unless under special circumstances

Backstory: A very long time ago, maybe even before time had a name, Clair and the First Elemental Master of Time (Femt for short rn, no name yet) meet after some people found out about their powers and decided to harness them for themselves. They were trained and pushed far to much until one day Femt realizes that, if they ere so powerful, they could take over Ninjago. That way they wouldn't have to do anything for anyone else ever again. A few years pass before they can enact their plan, being around 24 when they finally escape.

However, after only a few years the power went to their heads, about to go on a warpath that was far from necessary or just. So, with the help of the First Spinjitzu Master, a powerful sorcerer and blacksmith went to find chronosteal to create two sets of emblems, one to trap each of their powers. Their first ambush was rough but a success nonetheless, as they were able to absorb the Element of Time before the pair escaped. But they came back for it earlier than expected, they weren't prepared and Femt and Clair managed to steal the Emblem of Time back, the sorcerer ignores the warnings of the other two and chases after them, taking the empty Emblem of Clairvoyance with them.

They all end up at a cave Femt and Clair had already set up camp in. Another battle ensues where Femt is gravely injured and the sorcerer uses their last bits of strength to seal all three of them in the cave. Clair tries to use the Emblem of Time to reverse it all, but it was never meant to be used, only to contain. Femt uses their last breaths to make Clair promise She’ll carry out their plan, and gives says that if there was anyone they'd want the element of time to pass onto, it'd be Her.

Femt dies, time passes. Clair figures out how to fuse Itself with the Emblem of Time to become functionally immortal. Time passes, She studies the book of the dead sorcerer. Time Passes, the cave opens as the magic fades. Time passes, the glow of the Emblem is dimming. Time Passes, She ventures out and hears rumors of a 'Time bending Magician'. Time passes, the 'magician' meets their end at Clair's hands, She reaches out and recites a spell and their Elemental Essence appears, She grasps it, and She eats it. Time passes, and the glow of the Emblem Returns. Time passes, and She does Her best to repeat this over and over, extending Her life long enough to plan it all out. Time passes, and She isn't supposed to be alive, the Element of Clairvoyance was supposed to pass on long before this, it tries to leave Her body and it feels like Her very being is pulling apart. Time passes, and She fuses with the Emblem of Clairvoyance to stabilize Himself. Time passes, and It fuses with the element itself. Time passes, She hunts, She gathers information about anything that could help Her, and She waits.
