i think there’s actually nothing better than being randomly told “I love you” after doing something characteristically stupid. Like what do you mean I’m a lovable person and I just did something silly and you thought “of course you would do that. I love you.”. No better feeling

Sometimes I wonder, what if Ted had met Victoria after he had moved on from Robin. The main reason that they didn’t work out both times was because Ted was hung up on Robin. Yeah Ted understood Robin and they both had very good chemistry but despite knowing that they both had a different future planned for themselves, he couldn’t move on from her.

If Ted would’ve met Victoria after he decided that he would keep his horizon clear now, i am sure Victoria would’ve been the endgame, she would’ve been the mother. But we know that we are a culmination of our past experiences and mistakes, and that if this were to have happened, that Ted meets Victoria much later, he wouldn’t realize that his being hung up on Robin was unhealthy and toxic.

He did meet Victoria. He experienced what a good and healthy relationship felt like, where you plan your future together side by side. It was because of Victoria that Ted got a wakeup call and then later on realized that, all along, he was after the wrong person.

I thought maybe Victoria wasn’t meant to be for Ted. She was wonderful, but the situation wasn’t ideal or maybe the time wasn’t right. But maybe that was the exact role Victoria had to play in Ted’s life. She wasn’t meant to be the mother, she just guided Ted towards the mother, towards his intended endgame. And we all know how his intended endgame, Tracy was indeed perfect for our hopelessly romantic Ted.
