Anyways!! Hello! Molli here! Excited to start June Of Jade~! I have a lot of the art planned out. A lot will be on this dotted paper due to it being my current notebook. Though, I am currently working on some digital art/painting/and possibly writing for this month! We shall see! ^∆^

Canto 8 Part 1 & 2 Ramble (with pictures??)

(I know a lot of people are already posting their ideas and theories, but after things like the close-to-canon age drop for Hong Lu and something new I noticed about the Land of Illusion E.G.O. I wanted to ramble and share potential theories for Canto 8 pt 3)

Land Of Illusion - the eye covering from The Incident™️ has been in Hong Lu's E.G.O. all along. The ribbon that turns to water. I wonder if the ribbon turning to water and pelting enemies is some sort of representation of all of the sorrow Baoyu had accumulated while witnessing horrific things for years. That may be a bit of a stretch though.

Close-To-Canon Age Reveal - The Wiki has not dropped the full limbus 8-20 Story Dungeon script yet. Thus, I have a screenshot from when I was playing a game but I do not have the proper name or number of which node this lore drop is from. But there is a point where Daiyu mentions "what I have come to realize in my almost-thirty years of life". We know that Hong Lu is older than Daiyu, though I'm unsure if there is an official line on if they are a few months apart or a few years apart. But if Daiyu is 28 or 29, then Hong Lu is likely anywhere between 29-31 years old. The only reason it goes as high as 31 is because I assume that if there was a 3+ year age gap then the visions of the past we see would have a visible difference in age.

Just Appreciating The Trauma - This isn't a theory. Just pointing out something I love in this art. Let us take a moment really quick to actually take a close look at that image of Baoyu watching the massacre. Because omg. Along with seeing the bird silhouette in the eye, the red actually is the bird eye. The way it's placed kinda plays it off as just one of those quirks that just happens when a character is traumatized, so it's easy to overlook. And I appreciate how clever it is because just from this image you wouldn't get spoiled to the twist. Even as they are setting up for the massacre, you don't expect what actually happens.

What is Baoyu's eye? - This is purely theory. Originally I was in the moonlight stone boat, but after seeing how Jia Mu is going out of her way to actively traumatize this kid I'm kinda wondering if the eye is some sort of immortality bolus. It was heavily hinted/shown that Hong Lu was chosen to witness. He wasn't born special. People are now relating the jade eye to the Tearful Thing, and my new personal theory somewhat piggybacks off of that. What if: Hong Lu is forced to witness human suffering and forced against to learn of humans secular nature in order for his eye to create the true immortality bolus. It learns from what it witnesses and will cure a human from it's 'humanity'. Though the other hilarious option to me that I just thought of while writing is that Hong Lu is actually HCorp's Singularity and the only reason he got the eye is cuz he was the first one that was born after the last singularity dude died.

That's off the top of my head, I'll reblog with more ideas if I start cooking again.

Quite a few posts on this matter already, but I may as well briefly explain what’s happened for those touching the soils later. Some information is outdated here, so please don’t be hasty in your actions. I’ll clarify what’s actually happening at the end, since this is mainly for informative purposes.

From the beginning:

KJH releases a news article on Steam, stating he will be nerfing both Heishou Mao Branch Faust and Talisman Sinclair. Any resources used on these IDs would be refunded, as well as compensation. At the time, this was x1,300 lunacy for TaliSinc, and a 3 Star Guarantee x10 pull alongside x300 Nominable Crates for Mao Faust. 

We then got a separate post for Mao Faust detailing what changes and compensation would be made specifically for her. Kim announces that all pulls for Mao Faust would be refunded in her post, regardless of what you used to get her.

Mao Faust’s nerf gets cancelled, and all previous changes and compensation for her get cancelled as well. This includes the notice about pulls being refunded. The only thing that stayed was the 3 Star Guarantee Ticket, which moved to be a reward for TaliSinc changes.

We get a post regarding TaliSinc changes, which include the changes to his support passive, as well as changing how Talisman works as a status in general.

In terms of what KJH has said to us, it seems a lot of hasty decisions were made without everyone being on the same boat. As of now, he has apologised for the whole fiasco, and compared this to the Ring Sang incident. He never wants to directly nerf another ID again unless there’s bugs involved, and will instead try and use surveys and livestreams to gather feedback.

That’s the general rundown of what’s happened. Limbus’ Steam News page is where more in-depth versions of what I’ve said can be found. As for what’s actually happening:

This consists of both the nerfs to TaliSinc, as well as the compensation we will actually be getting. Compared to previous wordings in these articles, it appears you’ll gain the rewards regardless of whether you own TaliSinc or not, so sharding him just to gain the rewards is not necessary.

This should hopefully clear up why some players are disappointed, and what’s actually happening. Your Mao Faust will not be touched, and you will not be refunded upon pulling her. If any information becomes outdated again, or if I’ve made any mistakes, expect a reblog sometime soon. It’s only been a few hours since these posts, so more changes are not impossible. Any decision you make now is entirely up to you.
