It felt like it had only been a few days since she came ashore on Ionia, but by now, Neeko had seen much of the continent, and so she thought the time to explore a new area was coming near. However, as she was contemplating this, she spotted an unfamiliar Vastaya, one covered in azure feathers that immediately drew her interest and her adventure found itself beginning once more.

Taking a mere glimpse into this Vastayan’s Sho’ma, Neeko saw a kindhearted girl, and quickly resolved to befriend them. It didn’t take long for her to scramble through the surrounding brush, snaking her way around branches and roots before peeking through the foliage to get a better look. Part of her wanted to leap out and greet her right away, but even the most kindhearted person could become dangerous when startled, something she was more than aware of by now.

Zed was not actually carrying a weapon but it wasn’t as if that made him less dangerous. Just less immediately so. Still, he made little effort to respond to the girl right away, in the middle of munching on the sunfruit as he was.

Tossing the core of the fruit to the underbrush, Zed glanced at the girl, not even surprised at the sight of the half-lizard girl hanging from the upper branches by her tail.

“Vastaya? A strange sight in this part of Ionia I must say”. Leaning into the crook of the tree branch, Zed fully turned his attention to the girl. He rarely got to speak with Vastaya outside of pure ‘business’, his curiosity was piqued.

“A wanderer I wonder? Hmm, no matter,  I am Zed, rare do I have the chance to speak with Vastaya”

While technically a relative of the Vastaya, Neeko chose not to correct him, as lecturing someone immediately after meeting them was less than a pleasant way to make friends. That said, the mention of wandering made her nod. She was indeed a wanderer, as was her way of life now.

Righting herself, she began to introduce herself, “Yes yes! I am Neeko! It is so nice to meet you Zed!” Though, clearly, her accent suggested she was not from this region, Neeko didn’t plan on opening with her origin. Perhaps she would tell him later, once they were further acquainted, or sooner, should he pry. For now, though, she was perfectly content with simply talking in the trees with this new person.

Tomorrow, a lot of bloggers will be offline. I will be one of them. This is in protest of tumblrs new policy and the affect it has had on users and creators.

The goal is to make noise around tumblr. Twitter, Facebook, pillowfort, mastodon, MySpace, and any other social media you use. Speak up there. Speak about what your protesting, tag the staff and website pages on those sites so they know how the user base feels and what we think.

You are under no obligation to participate in this protest

No one can make you log out or close the website and app. It’s your choice, and you do not have to explain it to anyone.

Logging off does not mean the blogger will never be back

For some, this is the moment they move to a new platform, but not all. A lot of bloggers will return, I will be coming back to the site after all is said and done, because this is the place I feel most accepted and welcome. This is the place I love and where I’ve truly found a loving and supportive community of friends. Through this site I’ve found my family, and I’m not leaving that behind.

The log off will not cause staff to delete the site

That’s been circulating a lot, but please know it isn’t true. It will cause a drop in ad revenue and productivity for the site. It will show that we’re serious. It will make them pay attention, but one day of low usage will not cause them to delete the site. Do not let people convince you that it will be.

Stay strong younglings. We can make a statement together, we can make changes if we are unified, we are more powerful than we believe
