I either state my age, or leave it off. I don't see why it's considered embarrassing to be over 25, but sometimes, particularly in fandom circles, you have to state it because there are kids who like to ship stuff and it's weird talking about that with people who are 20 or more years younger than me. There needs to be a boundary there.

Zoo Tycoon is one of my favourite games, but since computers no longer come with a disc drive and it is not on steam, I have had to say good bye to playing it.

for the last 1,200 days someone has left a comment on every single manyatruenerd video, asking him to play zoo tycoon. each comment has kept a tally of how many days it's been since they started asking, steadily ticking up and up and up. it's been over three years of polite but incredibly persistent bothering

I am amazed at how much I got accomplished this week, despite the weather. I got some gardening done (the cold ground helped with that because it stopped it from being slippy and awful for walking on) and I managed to get a sideboard put up, mostly on my own, a table for the mini fridge to stand on and a small set of drawers. The drawers are a bit smaller than I expected so I don't think that I can use them for what I wanted them for, but that's OK. We still need to get a few pieces to finish the place off but making progress every time we do it.

I have spent the day putting together a sideboard for my books (it's one of those bookcase style ones with drawers down one side.) I do like putting together furniture, but this one was a big job and as we are going through a cold snap, my back has had it. The books will have to wait until my back feels better before I organize it. It's great though because I now have a lot of space to organize the stuff we brought with us that is currently in boxes and I hope to get most of the place organized by spring. There is room for a couple more bookcases in the back room (I have a lot of books!) and I need to get a storage ottoman for blankets and perhaps some drawers for clothes - it depends on how many I have left after organizing them in the wardrobes.

I couldn't even celebrate your birthday because for some reason they didn't want Max there, and even if he was, I wouldn't have been able to eat the food, because guess what, it was curry. I'm better off not eating that muck.

Christ, if there is one thing that irritates me is when people moan and whinge about how much money is spent on something that I don't want, don't even like and don't mind going without when it's something that THEY want and they manipulate me into having it but then they also complain and whinge about how much they didn't like it. For fucks sake, don't make the suggestion, then. I don't want it. I never wanted it. I don't even like your so called favourite type of food so why do you act like I do and that it was me who wanted it? I freaking hate Indian food and I've always told you that I hate Indian food but you never listen to what I say.
