"...okay. Just an hour." Jay gets up, his back cracking in several places. He's clearly been in that seat for a while "So d'ya wanna tell me why you were here in the first place? I doubt it was to get me lunch"
"I don't have an appointment," Katherine softly says as she enters. Her face is covered with a sick mask, and she has a boot on her left ankle. Dark, uncharacteristic circles on her face show her lack of sleep lately.
"I'd like to speak to Jameson, please."
@katherine-fisk
Jay looks up from where he's sat behind Jameson's desk. He looks almost as tired as Katherine, eyes half closed and hair a mess and looking about one gentle push away from passing out. The normally tidy office a ransacked mess, like someone tore through the place and stole things at random. And Jameson was nowhere to be seen
“He’s not here Ms Fisk. Taking time off for his health while I deal with an FBI investigation… you okay? Did something happen?”

“Oh… I’d love to accept but I’ve got way too much to do here…” he gestures at the piles of paper around him

"Yeah... just told all the others to go home. No point sitting around, we're not printing anything right now" He muttered, rubbing his eyes "Do you need anything? You don't exactly look in the best state yourself, no offense"

“Good… if you need anything at all I’m here for you. Or I’ll try to be…”
January enters the Daily Bugle office, a place she hasn’t been since she left her dad. She sees that the office is a disaster.
“Wow… I was right. Jay and I are the only thing keeping the Daily Bugle from destroying itself.” January remarks.
She looks at her father who looks deranged. “And look at you… you’re a mess without me…”
@newsreporter16
"January maybe you should-" Jay is quickly cut off by a wave of Jameson's hand as he gets up and walks over to January, stubbing his cigar out in an ash tray. He looks about to cry
"January... am I really that bad?" He asks, voice weary

“I just report the news miss. The news is the news, and this is important stuff. Fortunately for you, you’ve caught me at a time when we are unable to print anything so…” he grumbles
Kloe storms into the daily bugle's office, her face twisted with anger. "Hello Jameson. This is President Barnes's Head of Security. I need to speak with you" @maybe-im-spider-fox
“Perfect, just what I needed” he sighs wearily “What is it now?”

“I have a suit… I think…” Jay sighs, going back to his chair
Jameson rolls his eyes “Yes Evans I paid for it, remember?!”
James walks into the Bugle, a business proposition in mind for J. Jonah Jameson, who doesn't actually own the building. He's pretty sure given the circumstances now is the right time. But he'll hold off on it.
"Mr. Jameson." He sees the man in question still smoking a cigar. "James Barnes, CEO of Emerson Enterprises." He holds his hand out for the other man to take.

Jameson stares at his hand, not looking in the mood “This office is closed Barnes, can’t you read?”

“Sure thing… I’ll send my editor Jay… EVANS!”
The shout jolts awake Jay, who’d been passed out in a chair in the corner
“Yes sir?”
“You’re going to Barnes’s gala. This is a reporting job though, I expect no partying from you”
“Yes sir…”

“Jan wait… please…” Jameson gets up again, sighing before continuing “I’m so sorry. I haven’t been a good father to you. Hell I can’t even keep my own company in order. You deserve much better than what I’ve done for you, and I can’t apologise enough”

Yeah get out of here as fast as you can Caspian. Good luck.
ATTENTION:
Due to an unfortunately timed government investigation, the Daily Bugle is having to go on hold for a while. We will return shortly, so sit tight and keep reading. – J. E. – Lead Editor
