Latest episode make me realize I don't even think I want "cannon macdennis" as in "on screen kiss" or big resolution scenes and whatnot, my cannon macdennis is just a situation like prime time where someone think they're a couple and Dennis just doesn't correct them, and then we never see him attempt to pick up a woman again. and NOT because he's happy or "ready to accept himself," but because he's finally resigned to the life he has, whether he likes that life or not. We'd know that the life he thinks he deserves isn't really what he wants either but HE thinks he does because no one on this show is allowed to be self-aware for longer than 2 minutes and that's ok. And then I'd like to see maybe only a moment or two that looks ALMOST sweet or at the very least domesticly symbiotic in a tolerable way, only for half a second, just to show that at some point Dennis gave up resisting somehwere in the background of everything, because Mac is the man who's there and that thought sinking in needs to be both horrifyingly disappointing and comforting at the same time. Neither of them are getting what they think they want but there's relief in giving up
