Reminds me of when I decided to watch The Lion Guard and when I heard Ono I went "Morrie?!?!" and I had to look it up to be sure.
Scrolling on my TikTok FYP and got a video of Atticus Shaffer talking about The Middle!
Morrie Rydell jumpscare LOL

Yeah, at times he seems bothered whenever people try to nail down specifics or have some problems with certain decisions. Location, timeline, etc.
Where is Adventures in Odyssey located? Odyssey, duh. But what state is Odyssey in?
Saw some discussion on where Odyssey is located a while back, so I decided to try to throw my hat into the ring to narrow it down the best I can. Personally, I always headcanoned it in Illinois, but other states make sense too. But I wanted to go through every state and see.
First, I ruled out all the states we know it isn't located in using the Official Guide and what I remember of the most recent episodes. Let me know if I missed any States. Then, I ruled out the states that aren't reasonably close to Chicago since that seems to be the closest major city. There have been several episodes where they seem to make a relatively short drive to Chicago. So I'm guessing it's less than a 6 hour drive. That leaves Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Minnesota, and Missouri. Wisconsin, and Minnesota seem unlikely. Why would you go to Chicago when St. Louis/Minneapolis/Milwaukee are probably closer? That leaves Illinois or Indiana (most likely in the northern half because the southern half would be closer to St. Louis or Cincinnati)
TLDR: Odyssey is in Illinois or Indiana.

I'm basing my guess on what Phil Lollar said:

The creators specifically stated Odyssey wasn't in Ohio, so that's the main reason I excluded it. Also, I was mainly basing my speculation based on proximity to Chicago since that's the city most often referenced as a nearby large city that's close enough to make day trips to. If an area was closer to a different major city, I ruled it out. If Odyssey was in Ohio, why does everyone travel to Chicago for most things when Cincinnati, Columbus, Detroit, or Cleveland are all closer? I could see if only a few people went because they had buisness specifically in Chicago, but pretty much anytime anyone needs something they go to Connellsville and if Connellsville isn't good enough, the next option is pretty much Chicago.

Yeah I was stumped on Skint's age, when we first meet him I was under the impression he was in like his 60/70s but the way Buck mentioned how Skint was in love with his mother so I would assume he's a little closer in age to Buck's mom.
Y'all quick question, I'm in a middle of a project and I'm having a hard time figuring out an age for Skint. How old would you say he was when he first "adopted" Buck? And how old would you say he is now?

Yeah, I mean, I do want to see the Chairman, but I kinda lost interest in his identity reveal. I would like to see him finally caught for his crimes. But I can't see his identity being shocking to me. I can't think of any character we know it could be without it feeling wildly out of character or like they picked a random side character with little relevance and said that's him. Arthur Dent? Bennett Charles? Last we saw one was mentally unstable and the other is in prison. All other people who are tied to Andromeda wouldn't make sense. So it's some high ranking military officer but that's about all we know.
(Also, the wiki says they thought about making Margaret Faye the Chairman, which is hilarious imo)
On the one hand, I don’t really care who the Chairman is, but on the other, I 100% believe that it’s Jerry

I always find it strange Matthew Parker's reaction to A Sacrificial Escape is never touched on, even a little bit. He thought he might die too, but we only ever see Emily grappling with it a bit in the later episodes. Obviously, Emily has a bigger reaction because she was in the escape room and also the flooded room in Rydell Revelations, both of which she thought she was in genuine danger, but she was still shaken up after A Sacrificial Escape.

As much as I absolutely adore Katrina, I've always wanted to bring up my 2 big problems I have with her.
In Love is in the Air and The Right Choice, Katrina is dating Brandon, but is still seemingly pursuing a close relationship with Eugene. Now, I don't blame her for moving on, but it always rubbed me the wrong way that she continued to seem to pine after Eugene while in a relationship with Brandon. Obviously, you can love a friend without being romantically interested in them, but I think it's pretty obvious that she's still in love with Eugene, more than you would be with a close friend. And if you're still in love with someone, I don't think it's right to get into a relationship with another person while still remaining emotionally entangled with the person you were originally in love with. I would have preferred if Brandon was a close friend that had asked her out but she was undecided and had asked for time to think about it or something. That way it doesn't feel like she's emotionally cheating on Brandon with Eugene. Then again, I've never been in a relationship and might have no clue what I'm talking about.
The other issue isn't really a problem with Katrina herself, more of her role in recent episodes. I know this has been discussed a bit before but I wanted to say it again. Her early episodes she's always portrayed as highly intelligent but it feels like in more recent episodes she's not really allowed to be as intelligent? I don't know if that's the right way to put it. She's a teacher, and tutors on the side and we see her reading before bed but that's about it?
One of the lines that always bugged me was in The Long End, When Katrina is talking to Buck to explain what a fleur de lis is, she says, "That's a fleur de lis, it's French for lily or something like that." Later, when Katrina explains what Little Miss Priss means, when Penny says, "Wow, How do you know that?" Katrina responds with, "I'm married to Eugene." Obviously both lines are fine, but I feel like it would have been a nice place to remind us how smart Katrina is and not need to be unsure what a fleur de lis is or need to be married to Eugene to know what a little Miss Priss is. While I'm disappointed Katrina's role recently has been as Eugene’s wife and Buck's mom, I don't mind so much. I was just disappointed to see one of her few chances to shine kinda kicked to the wayside. The only other time we see how smart Katrina is is the one time in Divided We Fall, where she mentions she's a Rhodes scholar. Maybe if you count her teaching in middle school, we get a little bit?
I know this is a dumb hill to die on but I've been wanting to make this post for weeks.

On the topic of Buck, I think he's had at least 4 people actively like him. We've got Emily, Camilla, Valerie, and Jules. He's definitely popular.
I just remembered I listened to parts 3 & 4 of the green ring conspiracy and forgot to post my (incredibly long!) list of thoughts
Here we go!
Btw, I will be naming who said each quote so nobody gets confused
Ok, I like Penny a lot, but which of the writers was overtired or something when they made her last name Wise?
"Did you call me a kid?" Lol (Eugene's quote btw)
Sorry to interrupt this but my cat is being a potato
I hope nobody actually ships Buck and Emily cuz...in this album she's eleven and he's fourteen. Like let's not ship tweens and minors who aren't only one year apart
Connie is so relatable, cuz, nobody ever tells me anything either
Monty's mother is Jana, right?
Is it just me, or, Mr. Skint would be a really cool character if he wasn't bad
Excuse me, but, is Buck homeschooled or not I'm confused.
"You have beautiful handwriting" (Emily to Buck) first of all, thank you AIO for breaking the 'only girls can have neat handwriting' stereotype and secondly, I'm pretty sure I headcanoned Buck having nice penmanship so that's good it's canon
I just realized Buck definitely doesn't sound this Southern in recent episodes...he's losing his accent guys
"I'd have given Big Ben fangs" (Connie about her art) lol
I've probably said this before, but, I ❤ Connie and Eugene's friendship
Also, I ❤ Katrina. Her voice is just perfect for her character
the music is so good
Have a nice day everyone!!

The WEC might sell ice cream and be a decently sized bookstore. That could maybe make it more profitable? But they probably do other things to help fund it if that isn't enough by itself. I always assumed that the WEC was just in a regular building that was slightly renovated/remodeled. Maybe it got a nice paint job or a mural? That'd make it stand out.
No idea how Eugene and Katrina bought a house almost as soon as they came back. It's been bugging me for ages. Eugene was working at Whit's End at the most. Katrina most likely hadn't gotten a substitute teacher role yet. She mentioned that there weren't any openings in To Mend or Repair and in To Sink a Sub when she was teaching the literature class it sounded like she had only done a history class prior. So she was what? Tutoring? I doubt she's getting enough students to buy a house. Maybe she went back to working at Holstein's? Even with the best case scenario, they seem to have bought the house almost immediately upon returning. Even with both of them working I doubt it's enough to buy a house on that short notice because of proof of employment and all those other requirements. So it seems like they had to have just bought the house outright. Most likely a fairly large house since we know it's 2 stories tall. Sure it's a small town but that's still a lot of money for at best 2 recently graduated college students who just got stable jobs.
So that leaves very few options. Option 1: Katrina got a large inheritance and used that to buy the house (We know her family was rich. I think they have a tennis court in their backyard.) Option 2: Eugene got paid a ton for his research. Or Option C: They were involved in a lawsuit with Andromeda/Novacom and got a nice payout. Idk if any other explanations.
Also, gold. Just like Batman, Whit loves "adopting" wayward children in need of guidance and occasionally puts said children in danger

Well, damn, maybe Whit should pay Connie more 😂

Yeah, I always assumed Whit's End was like a mission work/passion project for Whit. (Still don't know how a second shop got opened. Do they get paid less, charge more? Less operating costs? Idk) It's a big loss but worth it for the results. What's Whit gonna do with all of his money? Sponsor 100 compassion kids. Donate to a bunch of different causes? That doesn't sound like Whit. Sure, he probably does that, but he also wants to personally help and support people himself.
As for Connie, this is like her only job. Sure, there's Dreams by Constance, but how many clients does she get? I can't recall which episode, but if I remember right, it's not that many. (Also, it doesn't help that most of her ads are really only being heard by children who, last I checked, need a few years to get married. She drove out to help Donna, but that might have been a personal favor. Idk)
As for Eugene, he seems like he used to be living off his job at Whit's End along with some work from the college. An odd research job or something similar. (He only got the full-time position because Armitage pulled some strings)
As for UPF, idk how much he's involved with decisions like that. Its probably decent but not outstanding.
As for Renee? She might get paid for doung stuff like running the shop and stuff but not anything involving the imagination station? Idk how internships work or if you can even do that.

Well, damn, maybe Whit should pay Connie more 😂

I've been wondering how much Whit pays his employees. He clearly pays very well. We know that at one point, Eugene was getting paid at least three times the minimum wage, possibly more. It depends on how much Connie was being paid at the time. While Connie was technically getting paid way less, she probably is now being paid the same amount seeing as she's in college. So I would think Whit would have stopped paying into the trust fund and just pays her directly.
I'd assume Whit adjusts for inflation and such. This brings up another question. Is Whit's end even profitable? I'd assume so if there's a branch in Connellsville. If there wasn't I would have just assumed Whit is funding all of Whit's End out of pocket and taking a loss since he's so rich.

Well, damn, maybe Whit should pay Connie more 😂

Yeah, while I really like Jules, she always seems to hold Buck back or cause him to regress in his character growth. Sure, they have their cute moments, but they are just incompatible as of now. I would enjoy seeing them end up together, but they both need character growth for that to happen) Was actually wondering if Buck and Lexi would start to become close friends and Jules gets jealous. (Idk if they'd date, there's too many problems right now. Buck isn't a Christian, he's still hung up on Jules, etc) Idk if the writers would want to start a love triangle with them. Not unprecedented though.
(I actually used to ship Buck and Bridget a while back because of my opinion on Buckles.)
i said this on twitter & i’m gonna just say this again verbatim because omg the most recent aio album is making buck a tolerable character for once. maybe it’s because jules was holding him back. cause whenever i go back to listen to buckjules centered episodes, the romance seems one-sided and strained like the break up scene was a struggle for me I wasn’t feeling any sort of emotion. it felt flat unfortunately.
in “facing the music” — where jules lies about the alcohol and expects buck to not fess up because she thinks he understands situations like that because of his past (this is my interpretation btw!!!)
while lexi has accepted his flaws in all and doesn’t care about who he was in the past and i feel like as the episodes and albums progress over time; buck will get out of his shell and go back to the church. as a viewer, we see how much lexi tries to push buck out of his shell and realizes how selfless he is with his mentee as well as not pushing him.

Yeah, I always thought it would have been nice to see Connie and Katrina just hanging out together. Candid Conversations with Connie is where I see most of their interactions with each other, and even then, it's slim in between the more educational stories and exercises. Which are fantastic, I loved learning about Katrina's past, even though it's probably "not canon"
Relistening to Back to Abnormal and I'm still wondering how Katrina got Eugene to call her "Snookie Wookie"? Did she come up with that? Did he?! Why does she get all the weird nicknames? Chlorobium Bacteria, my little Buttercup, my little Brussel Sprout, my little Molly Pitcher... The only normal one she's had was Trina, and they dropped that in like 3 episodes. All she's called Eugene is babe. Justice for Katrina, let her call Eugene some stupid pet name.
