I have a few interracial characters, two that are bosmer/dunmer, one that is orc/dunmer, one that is breton/daedra. Unfortunately I don't have any that are human/mer that are super fleshed out yet. I put more about them under the cut
(Also preface, when I say things like "average height for ___" I mean in my headcanon, nothing I'm saying here comes from any in game source)
The two bosmer/dunmer characters are the children of my bosmer dragonborn, Aneis, and Teldryn
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They both have light grey skin, bordering on blueish, Cinuri inherited her dark hair from her father and Braiel his auburn hair from his mother. They both got their white eyes from their mother but that has more to do with her being dragonborn than bosmer. Cinuri is much taller than her mother at about 5'8", and Braiel is just slightly taller than average height for a male Bosmer, about 5'4". They both use a hyphenation of their mother and father's surnames, Sagefen-Sero, as thats what their mother goes by and bosmer names are matrilineal. As far as worship, their mother is a Hircine devotee and their father follows the three good daedra, and they were brought up being taught the values of both religions equally. Neither of them really follows those gods however because as adults they serve one of my other OCs who I'll get to in a moment
My orc/dunmer character is the son of my OCs Murza and Endurys
Tumblr media
Hab essentially has the stereotypical color pallet of a dunmer, red hair, red eyes, dark grey skin, but the features of an orc, tusks, shorter ears, coily hair, LARGE. He's about average height of a male orc, 6'4". He uses an orcish surname, gro-Murza, at the instance of his father, who is a Hlaalu. Endurys didnt want his sons being burdened woth the weight that name carries like he was. He was raised by his mother to know Malacath, but his father didn't teach him much about the three because Endurys isn't that religious. He would also go on to serve his older brother.
Finally my breton/daedra character is a demiprince of Clavicus Vile and his biological mother is unknown.
Tumblr media
Dire inherited his ginger hair and horns from Vile, and his fair skin and features from his birth mother. When he was born, his eyes were brown, but after he was adopted by Murza and Endurys, they slowly started changing to match his new parents. In my head, Clavicus Vile always shows himself in a very youthful manner, so Dire stops physically aging at about 14. He is a minor deity in and of himself, the Demiprince of Adventurers, so he doesn't really worship any gods. His younger brother and younger cousins (Hab, Cinuri, and Braiel) all serve him, both in Mundus and in his pocket realm of Oblivion.
i know tes lore says that biracial children are the race of their mother, but i think that's dumb. i mean i get why a human or elf couldn't have a child with a khajiit or argonian, genetically speaking. that's not just interracial, but interspecies. however, those scientists that accidentally made a new fish could be onto something... i'm getting off topic.
Anyways. i know human/mer or mer/mer couples could have biological children that wouldn't just be "race of the mother". so does anyone have biracial characters (player character or not) and would you be willing to tell me about them and which features they received from which parent?

more magic headcanons:
-dual-casting in the sense of casting the same spell using both hands is both common and easy. casting different spells simultaneously, however, is an advanced technique that can go badly if you aren’t careful
-transforming one thing into another completely is very difficult, harder the larger the object or being is to start with and yet harder if the thing you want to turn it into is very different from the starting point. brelyna maryon of the college of winterhold is extremely talented, just probably not in the way she wishes she was
-gender affirming procedures are really easy to come by in tamriel, especially in magic-heavy societies. there’s a wide variety of ways to use alchemy and alteration or restoration magic to sculpt your body the way you want
-most schools of magic have targeted, hands-on, and area-of-effect variations of their spells. restoration sticks to the hands-on variant for the same reason that your surgeon doesn’t do her job with a trash claw from ten feet away
-spells like “close wounds” are not permanent solutions. they’re the equivalent of a bandage or emergency first aid. proper restoration takes time to cast and isn’t a cure-all; you still need time to recover, and there can be complications
-certain things that you might assume are magic won’t be considered that way by the people who use them. for example, most dunmer probably wouldn’t consider their ability to summon an ancestor guardian to be magic
