Thoughts on reactions to Maedhros being taken captive (I'm sorry)
Maglor. He's stressed. He doesn't want this. Doesn't want to be the leader, has never wanted this position and now he's forced to take his brother and his father's place because who else but the second son, and every night he stares out the window wondering if his Nelyo will ever return.
Celegorm. He's angry. He wants to go break Nelyo out, and yet he knows he can't, and he feels so helpless. He's never been able to do anything right, and even now, he prays every night that his brother is dead because he doesn't want to think about what the alternative could be.
Caranthir. He's despairing. He tells himself and everyone else the bitter truth, and he's so, so harsh about it some wonder if he even cares that his brother is in the hands of the enemy. In truth, the only thing he finds more distressing than that is there's nothing he can do about it. And he cries himself to sleep every night.
Curufin. He's hysteric. He will never stop grieving the loss of his father, and now another rock in his life is gone too. Nelyo, who was always there for him, Nelyo, who understood his love for their father like no one else did, is gone forever. He may as well have burst into flames too.
Amrod and Amras. They're numb. They won't leave each others' sides. More so than usual. They grow quiet, silently communicating with each other alone. The person they looked up to more than anyone, their untouchable big brother Nelyo, is gone. They feel like all they have left is each other.
Maedhros. He just found out from Morgoth himself that help isn't coming. Your brothers have abandoned you, Nelyafinwë. But, you're still the High King of the Noldor, are you not? There's an idea. Let's make you as high as you'll ever be.

For Day 3 of @maedhrosmaglorweek
I was inspired to try this kind of poetry by @two-bees-poetry 's work, specifically this and this. And man oh man is it a lot harder than it looks.

I love Beren and Lúthien as much as anybody, but for an unusual reason. As soon as we dive into their chapter, the whole tone of the story changes. You could make a Disney movie out of this thing; it’s deceptively charming. The humor, the tragedy, the victories and defeats, it’s a story all its own that sweeps you into its fairytale tone and paints over the fact that there’s much more sinister events waiting to happen. Why do I love them? They look so perfect. They’re the prettiest picture of naïve good guys, going on their quest for love while ignoring the consequences of their actions. But truly, they are as flawed as every other character. Their flaw? Adorable as they are, they’re kinda… stupid. These precious ignorant souls never take a second to stop and think about what might happen if the Silmaril is taken from Morgoth and inevitably passed down to some other generation, effectively making it the small rock that starts an avalanche. I have this theory that if Finrod had stayed in power in Nargothrond, and especially never ran off to help Beren on his little side quest, Nargothrond could have eventually recovered from Celegorm and Curufin’s treachery. Not only that but Finrod probably would have taken advice from someone other than Túrin, and prevented the land from being sacked by a dragon. Even against Glaurung, they could have at least stood a chance of defending Nargothrond from Morgoth’s forces if they had still had their leader. The other one is obvious. The Fëanorians would never have eaten Doriath alive over a Silmaril if the Silmaril had never been there in the first place. Of course Beren and Lúthien had no way of knowing for sure that their actions would lead to the fall of two separate entire regions, but they should have at least considered that people would die because of their mission. But hey, at least they proved that Morgoth was not unassailable… even though Fingolfin already did that and he wasn’t even a plot armored human with a magic girlfriend and a cool dog…

Maglor: rating the places where I've cried!
Valinor: nice place. To nice. Ruins the vibe. 4/10
Himring: has long hallways, great acoustics and a very depressing atmosphere, but also Nelyo is there to tell me to stop being so dramatic. 6/10
Battlefield: absolutely no. 1/10
Beach: amazing. Uninterrupted. People think I'm a siren or a vengeful ghost. Or a crab for some reason. Befriended a seagull. 9/10. One point gets deducted because the sand is impossible to get out of my clothes.

hug :D
I said in my last post that Maglor needed hugs and now he has a big hug!!!! :D
This drawing has me very emotional, I wanted it to be the 7 brothers hugging each other, Maglor in the center, after many years of him being alone and sad wandering the coasts. Is this a dream? A hallucination? Or is this a miracle and his brothers came back for him? :) ……I actually wrote a whole super silly fic about it but I don't think I'll finish it soon haha mmm we'll see haha
It's 2am and I'm happy, I love this drawing, even though I had a bad time at some moments because of mistakes that were completely avoidable but because of who I am I decided to take the more complicated path hmmm….This whole drawing is on the same layer haha….that wasn't a good idea haha but I love it anyway.
