I haven’t written a bella and jacob fic in almost three years (how has it been that long??) but here’s a little something I wrote tonight if you’re still interested 💖

“See ya, dad.” I caught myself at the last second before I said Charlie’s name.
“Have fun, Bells.” He kept his voice even, but I could still hear his smile. “Say hi to Billy and Jake for me.”
“Will do.” I braced myself before walking out into the rain.
It was a short walk from the front door to my truck, but I was still freezing. I grabbed the door handle just as I started to slip in a puddle and held on for dear life. As usual.
The drive over was uneventful, but as soon as I pulled into the driveway, I could see Jacob running to greet me excitedly.
“Bella!” His voice was muffled through the car door.
I opened the door and started to get out, almost slipping again, but he caught me just as he made it to the truck.
“One of these days you’re gonna fall right in the mud.”
“Nice to see you, too.”
He laughed, the sound spreading warmth through my chest. “I got you something. Come on in out of the rain and you’ll see.”
The shed was dry and cozy, tools strewn about and his workbench stocked with our favorite sodas.
“Okay, close your eyes.”
I did as he said, trying not to giggle at the exaggerated noises he made by throwing stuff out of his way.
“Alright, you can open ‘em!” Jake couldn’t contain his grin. “It’s a ‘happy light!’ I know you always say not to buy you anything, but it didn’t cost me a thing. My dad used to turn this on whenever we kids were having a rough time. I haven’t used it in forever and the twins aren’t living at home anymore, so… I thought you might like it.”
I tried not to let the tears come, but they blurred my vision anyway. I smiled softly at the lamp. “Thanks, Jake. I really appreciate that.”
“Do you want to try it? Since it’s raining right now, I think it’s kind of perfect.”
“I couldn’t think of anything better,” I said, and I meant it.
He plugged it in, letting the warm glow illuminate his face. “Isn’t it neat?”
I smiled at him. “It really is.”
He made sure the happy light was close enough to me before we got started on the bikes.
I couldn’t tell you what we talked about, or what progress we made on the bikes, but I felt better that day than I had in months.

vampirism poses the question "what if there was a fundamental, horrible, unending well of want in your soul that, if truly satisfied, would lead to great pain for all those you hold closest and, in turn, their absolute and total revilement of you?" and naturally as a person with no problems I don't relate to this in any way at all.
