Can I just say I really appreciate Shadow's characterization here? Like, it's so him with running from the issue, denying it, and not giving a full answer when it's pryed out.

He knows he's a hypocrite, both Rouge (and now Sonic) have pointed it out to him, but it's not something that is going to change in a few days. It'll take years and reminders, with him progressing and backsliding in the process.

I appreciate it because it's really easy to fall into the "lesson learned, they're an expert now" trap, which you didn't! He's going to be stubborn and screw-up, but I think he will earnestly try. He gave up the ghost fairly quickly here already, and admitting to losing control is not something I imagine comes easily to a guy like him.

Although, he might've also answered quickly because... Well, giant jelly doggo. It's 50/50 at this point.
