Guys! I think I've cracked the plot of acotar 5!!!

After thoroughly going over interactions and scenes with Azriel in acosf, there was one line that stuck with me.

The scene where Azriel's shadows recoil and tell him to run when Koschei speaks to him from the mist and tells him "I've been waiting for you".

This indicates Koschei has been keeping tabs on him, purposefully sitting back as he never attacked, he instead WAITED. Koschei WANTS Az to go to him for some reason.

And I think I know what that reason is.

We all know Sarah wants to do a little mermaid retelling, as her old Pinterest boards indicate but (if you've not seen them please do!) There's one particular image with a redheaded woman lying down with a dark haired man that looks to have been poisoned and the woman is sad.

What if it's not the female that replaces the mermaid in SJM'S retelling but the male, Azriel?

What if he is taken over by Koschei, or his shadows are like how Ariel lost her voice, he'd lose control over something vital to him. What if that is because a part of him is tied to Koschei, in a way that Hunt is tied to the prince's of Hel, how he was MADE by one of them to act as some kind of weapon etc... what if Azriel is Koschei's weapon that's he's waited for, to reach a point of complete emotional breakdown that he's susceptible to being over ridden????

And what counters the darkness and the death Koschei brings?

Light.

Life.

Healing.

Acceptance.
