Licks a stone before trying to skip it on your head
Dated: September, 1922
Please don't lick rocks. That can't be healthy. Also, please refrain from throwing said rocks at my head. Jay needs medical attention right now, not me.
This really seems like a horrible idea all around. Please don't do any part of this.
Wishing you well,
Nick Carraway

...Yes. Yes, he is. I wouldn't be here if he wasn't.
I was a coward and a fool, and I didn't see what was coming until it was far too late.
Until I called him and heard the gunshots through the line.
Until I rushed over there and saw him... there.. floating...
Where's Jay? Where is he? Chester, I can't breathe.

Hi Nick <3
You’re pretty well-read. Do you know what the word is for killing your husband?
I don’t intend to kill you. I just need it to answer a letter.
Dated: September, 1922
The word you're looking for is mariticide.
Though I must ask, what the hell kind of letters are you getting?
Wishing you well,
Nick Carraway

How I met this Jay? Well, I was... not okay for a while, I think, after the death of my Jay. I don't fully remember it. I was stuck in some sort of haze, I think.
He reached out first, if I remember correctly.
We were both broken men.
And we have since tried our best to put each other together.
So treat him well, okay?
Did you meet your Nick like I met my Chester? At Tom and Myrtle's party?
Mixed feelings,

How long can you hold your breath?
Dated: September, 1922
I'm not sure. I haven't tried. Although it must be a fair bit of time, since when I was a child a cousin of mine shoved my head under the water during a vacation at the coast and it certainly seemed like an eternity before my head came back up.
Wishing you well,

Are you a morning person or a night owl
Dated: September, 1922
Well, I'm used to getting up early for my job. I am a bondsman of sorts, you know.
I do enjoy staying up, though. My Jay and I would often take long walks on the beach, or else I was busy palling around with my Chester.
I think I would like getting to sleep in. I haven't had that opportunity for a while.
Wishing you well,
Nick Carraway

Do you know how to swim?
Dated: September, 1922
Well, yes. My family visited the coast every summer as a child, and not being able to swim would have made those vacations not nearly as fun.
I haven't gone swimming in a year or so, though. I didn't take my Jay's offer. Maybe he'd still be alive then, if I weren't such a goddamn
Wishing you well,

What are your parents like
Dated: September, 1922
My parents? Well, they're nice people, I suppose. My father can be overbearing sometimes, and seems to be disappointed in... the kind of man I am. That the kind of man I am is not like him. He can be... persuasive in a way that caused some trouble for me back when I was living with him in Minnesota. But compared to what I've heard about Jay's childhood, I don't have any right to complain.
There is not a lot to say about my mother, but at least she continues to maintain her regard for me. I suppose I could be a better son, so I am grateful for it. I do sometimes wonder how she feels about me being so far away. She doesn't write very often.
Wishing you well,
Nick Carraway

Okay. I’ll ignore it if you will. I’m proud of you, honey.
I met a Chester earlier this summer. Not this one, I don’t think, but one that’s looks like him. Tom was partying with Myrtle, and I was invited. The McKees, both of them, showed up partway through, and… well.
Things… escalated from there.
…He showed me his photographs, if you know what I mean.
Forever yours,
Nick

Shh, Jay. It's alright. I never expected a performance of liveliness from you, especially when I knew how bad things were for you.
I got to be with you again, Jay, and even though you're not necessarily the same Jay you're still a Jay and that's good enough for me and I'm just glad I even got that. I'm just glad you let me stay. I didn't care about the house and I continue not to.
Just as long as you're doing better. Just as long as you continue to recover. That's all that matters, honey.
Dinner looks excellent. Almost as delicious as your smile. Not to mention, you eating actual food is relieving some of my worst anxieties. Thank you so much for trying so hard, Jay. Really.
And I'm glad Chester is getting to see this side of you. You're a lot of fun to be around, darling, and I'm glad he's agreeing with me on that.
Forever yours,
Nick

Well, assuming this is from a restaurant, I would certainly call it unprofessional. However, I do enjoy a bit of whipped cream, so I suppose I would click the "Yea Cream On It" button, as... queer as that sounds.

Dated: September, 1922
I… ah, well… that is to say…
If you want to be inelegant about it. I have “smooched” both men separately, at different times in my life. Not… together. Not yet. Jay’s still thinking on it.
Wishing you well,

…Yes, lucky us indeed. It could have been much worse.
He is quite handsome, I agree. When you spend as much time with him as I do, it certainly helps that he’s not bad to look at. He’s rather like a puppy, sometimes. One that’s been kicked a lot. It’s all rather sad.
Lucky us, indeed. We’ll just have to see his conclusion about this whole matter.
Mixed feelings,
Nick

Ah, another one of your fascinating images! Just who is that cat? And while I do agree that he’s outside, I must know what problems he has that make him so similar to someone in an asylum. I worry about him.

Thank you for dinner, Jay. I’m sure it will be excellent. In truth, I’m just glad you’re actually eating. You’re doing so well, you know. Let me know if you need any help with that arm. Or Meyer. He can be a real piece of work.
We’ll just have whatever you want, okay? As long as you eat. You deserve it. And I’m sure Chester’s fine with it as well.
You know we’ve got all the time in the world, darling. Nothing on this earth (or any earth) would pull me away from you.
At your own time, Jay. I promise I’ll wait.
And Chester, too.
Forever yours,
Nick

You think I'm pretty? I um well
I... alright. An evening it is. Whatever you and Jay want to do.
From this house, of course. Preferably from this room. Just for Jay's sake. We can... talk. Yeah. We can talk.
What do you think, Jay? How... how are you liking Chester?
Mixed feelings,
Nick
