To clarify, this post is about boats because I was having mine repaired at the time of writing, but also, neither Cronus Ampora nor Kankri Vantas have boats or ships, making them objectively worse than Jade Harley and Jake English, two of the best characters in the comic because they both possess boats. Jake has several of them if you count the epilogues.

They're also worse than any navy around the world for this reason.

Ahoy proshippers! While waiting on my ship's refit, I decided to go and reread Homestuck! And I have to tell you, I completely forgot how much I despise Cronus Ampora! What a useless character that no one likes, in or out of the narrative! Boy, I sure do hope THAT guy doesn't have any insufferable fans out there. Kankri Vantas too, honestly, neither of them have any redeeming qualities whatsoever, and I'm sure you'd be hard pressed to find someone who makes a compelling case on why either of them are your favorites. Oh, the refit's done! Back out to sea once more! 🚢💙

If You Do Not Make A Post A Bout The Delta King In Old Sacra Mento I Am Going To SCREAM. -morpheus

My first ask and by a celebrity at that! Right away Morpheus!

And what an excellent ship you've chosen too! The Delta King is an absolutely marvelous paddle steamer, being used in 1927 all the way up to 1930 as a regular transport ship for the California Transportation Company's Sacramento Service, where she and her sister ship the Delta Queen then changed ownership to River Lines Inc. Since the land was developing and a new highway put them out of business in 1940, they were bought by the Isbrandtsen Steamship Lines in New Orleans for service there! The United States Navy acquired both ships in November of 1940 to receive ships full of naval reserves in San Francisco. After both ships were released from service in 1946, the Delta Queen was bought by Greene Line in Cincinnati, Ohio and towed up there, while the Delta King stayed behind in San Fran. In the 1950s she was used as a home for the employees of the ALCAN Aluminum Plant in Kitimat in British Columbia, Canada, and by 1978 she was moored in Rio Vista, California and put in the National Register of Historic Places! She was eventually taken back to the San Fran Bay and even sunk in 1981, but thankfully the damage was minor enough that she was hauled back up and given a restoration, where she reopened in May of 1989.

Now she permanently sits in Sacramento and holds a 44 room hotel, a lavish, award winning restaurant, and was home to Capital Stage, a professional theater in Sacramento, although they moved in 2011.

Some absolute gems of ships that I will definitely have to visit someday! Thanks for bringing them to my attention fellow proshipper! 🚢💙
