Why are we called the "additional four?"

Probably because we're in a children's show and the originally four Sigma-17 bots are the main characters.

MOD NOTE: Welcome! I'm Mod Dragon (you can call me Ruth) and this is my Rescue Bots blog. If you've known me for long, you'll know that this is the resetted version of my original Rescue Bots blog, which had all eight instead of the additional four characters. The reason I changed the blog to focus mainly on the additional four is because I believe they deserve to be together on High Tide's ship and just cause chaos XD.
