(Minor Spoiler Warning for Gregory Horror Show: Soul of Roses.)

This AU takes place in a scenario where Andrea and Tomo never woke up from their coma. They're still in limbo, between life and death. They never became the Ghost-Type Gym Leaders of Uplyria.

This drove Rose into a burning, vehement frenzy. She quit the Pokemon League entirely, since they were dragging their feet upon convicting the man who took away her kids... and took matters to her own hands.

She wasn't after power- she already had as much of it as she possibly could. Not after the other Signers; there laid no issue with them. She really had no motive... and that's what made her terrifying. She tormented those who wished they could change their lives, purely for the sick, twisted amusement of it. It's what's made the ages of her life with immortality stomachable.

"My, my... but aren't you the little hypocrite~? You came back in time for a reason, and you took your loved one's heart... are you really so callous as to throw away your and her's love, as soon as you disappear from this timeline? What right do you have to rip out her heart~?"

She was poking the caged Crimson Dragon. She knew that. And she relished its anger, its disdain, its fury. It was caged, and there wasn't a thing it could do about it.

"Think for a minute. How many lives have you already touched by being here? How many people have you to thank for being where they are in this timeline? How many people wouldn't be here without you~?

Would you really want to go back to a future where your actions in the past have already changed it? And what would even happen after you disappeared? Would all of your accomplishments have just faded away from the timeline, just to fix itself? Would you be forgotten by this world?

Can you really handle such a thing~?"

"Oh, too true... life's always full of all of those tough choices, isn't it~? It just makes you have to weigh your options; which do you value more? Your friends, or your love life~?"

She too could feel the omnipresence of the Crimson Dragon... and simply smiled her smug little grin. The Crimson Dragon had no power over her or her meddling... at least, not yet.

"Don't feel too pressured to give me an answer right away, dearie- after all, I myself have all the time in the World. But you... well, just remember; true love only happens even barely once in a lifetime!"

"I'm giving you the choice that Fate made for you, after all... So, what shall it be?

The life that was given to you? Or the life that you can make for yourself~?"

Plot Drabble: A Matter of Family, Part II

"I see him- Right there!"

Noelle would point to a man, who was facing off against another Trainer. She wielded a Krookodile, while the man wielded... something. It almost didn't look like a Pokemon, but it looked vaguely similar to a Ferroseed.

"I ask again... you were once part of Team Rainbow Rocket, right?"

"...yeah? And I was a Skull, but I've since reformed! What's your beef, anyway??"

"My 'beef' is with anyone who treats Pokemon and anyone else as anything less than equals. With those whose greed and ambition for power clouds their judgment and morals. Like those that head these organizations, like Rocket, Cipher, or Magma and Aqua.

They think they can earn more by making others feel pain? Here's what they'll earn; all of that pain, redirected back to them!"

A torrent of insects came from the Ferroseed-looking Pokemon upon Kana's Krookodile- an Infestation. Between the bugs, the seeds sprouted along its body, and how ill Ripper looked from a former Toxic attack, it wouldn't be long before he fell to the chip damage... while the Ferroseed looked like it was barely touched. Ripper tried to give a large bite at the foe, but it passed through like a hot knife through butter.

Ripper used Crunch! It didn't affect foe Vijam...

"I meant Your beef with me, specifically! I told you, I've quit that nowhere job AND left Team Skull to make myself a better person!"

"A likely story. I know of you, specifically. I read it in the news- When you had nothing; no Rocket, no Skull, you took over a poor man's home and kept it hostage. Your kind are all alike- always saying you'll do good, but turning around and biting the hands that feed you when backed into a corner."

The Ferroseed would then begin to multiply- Double Team? The Krookodile, despite struggling, still managed to bite at the Ferroseeds, but... wait. None of them seemed illusory...

Ripper used Crunch! It didn't affect foe Vijam...

"That's enough, Alcaeus!!"

The Alchemist would turn his head to look towards Noelle and Lucian, who had come up to the scene just moments before.

"Ah, so my dear frozen-hearted sister has finally joined us. Have you reconsidered my offer?"

"Hell no. I'm trying to stop you from hurting someone. You heard her- she stopped being a Rocket and a Skull a long time ago, leave her alone." She'd say, just as the Krookodile passed out from exhaustion.

"I was afraid you'd say that... but we are so close to this battle's conclusion. She only has one Pokemon left, and if she can't even get past my Ferroseed, what hope does she, a lowly ex-Skull, have of ever really beating me? I suppose all the other Skulls are just as weak as this..."

Oh, that ticked her off. Hurt her personal pride all you want, but never insult the pride of Skull in her presence.

"No. We're settling this, you pompous, arrogant asshole. Frosty, let's teach him some manners- set up some Hail!"

From out the ball came her final Pokemon; a large, Ice-Type Snorlax. Frosty was ready to roll.

As the Ferroseed used its Infestation to trap the Snorlax once again, the large Snorlax would breathe out into the sky and cause it to start hailing. The apple-sized hailstones would fall, hitting each and every one of the Ferroseed clones, dissipating each one until the last one, the real one, was struck.

Vijam fainted!

"Hmm... that Ferroseed must've had Wonder Guard as an ability- but that doesn't make sense... only Shedinja gets that ability."

"That's normally true. What did you do, Alcaeus?"

"I simply took the power that was granted to me, and made something imperfect, better. To truly make a Perfect World, in my design... to make an omelet, you need to break a few laws of nature.

But... I must thank you for knocking out Vijam... it means my next Pokemon will be stronger... and will be the last one you face this day."

He'd prepare another Reborn Ball, and threw out... something else. It looked like a Darkrai, or a... Dusknoir? In either case, it looked mad, and it seemed to get even stronger with that rage.

"You see, Vijam didn't just use Double Team. It in fact cloned itself constantly, setting up a foundation for an ultimate combo! Based upon Kingambit's Supreme Overlord Ability, Duza's Fallen Boost gives it the power of the fallen! With each clone you neutralized, each of them count as a Pokemon in itself, which gives Duza more power!

End this, Duza! BOOST KNUCKLE!"

Before even anyone had time to react, the mutated Pokemon burst forward with a great punch, socking right into the Snorlax's stomach and sending it careening past his Trainer, falling onto it.

It's super effective! Frosty Fainted! Kana has run out of useable Pokemon!

"FROSTY!" Kana rushed over to give her Snorlax some aid, taking out what meager resources she had. "Don't worry, big guy, I'm here..."

"Not only genetically modifying a Pokemon to suit your needs, but dealing such a harsh blow to a Pokemon? You're no better than the teams you preach against."

"Think what you want, Dragon peddler- but make no mistake. This wasn't a true 'battle.' This was but an exhibition; a show of what happens when you get in the way of my design. But don't worry... if you're so angered at my decisions, you'll be happy to know that I plan to destroy those evil teams... starting with their Leaders."

"Even if that wasn't a suicide mission, that's still a thought of murder! You know we won't be able to allow that."

"...as closed-minded as always...

Fine. Go ahead, and just try to stop me. It'll only end in your tragic ends. I'll give you time to prepare for the inevitable struggle... you'll need it."

Plot Drabble: A Matter of Family, Part I

"...Noelle? You've been in there for days. The Rebornian League has been asking for you-"

"And what; you're their errand boy now!? What's it to you!?"

Noelle was clearly disheveled, and upset. This was going to need tact... something he had in droves.

"Perhaps so, but I am also wondering out of concern for you. You haven't been accepting any challengers as of late, and Adrienn had been wondering-"

"Why doesn't xe just get Serra out of retirement, then!? I'm busy!"

"You know very well xe's not about to do that to Serra. She's more than well-earned her retirement and it's not fair for you to deny her that, bad mood or otherwise."

"Ugggh... I know." Her hands were gripping at her arms. He knew the signs that this wasn't any ordinary stress.

"...It's about your Brother, isn't it?"

"...am I that easy to read right now?"

A sigh from her nose, before she moved to nurse her head.

"Yes, it's Alcaeus. I've been monitoring the stations where Light Shards were being found, and they've all just disappeared; all of them had cameras set up there and he was in every shot when they were absorbed into that... that thing he carries.

I don't know what it is but it can't be good."

"...Listen, Noelle.

I might not know just what it was that caused you and your brother strain, but if you think he's dangerous, then you need to let others help you. You can't keep just setting up boundaries like Kyurem.

Let that icy heart of yours thaw just a little bit, and let others in to help you."

UGH. He was right and she hated that. She never relied on anybody for support before, but between a previous drubbing from a different Ice-Type Leader and Alcaeus on the loose? She was at her wits' end. And if Alcaeus was as strong now as she thought he was, she's gonna need all the help she can get.

"...Fine. If he's after what I think he's after, then we don't have any time to lose. Gather up all the loose trainers you can that're willing to risk their necks for this. If I'm right, this won't just affect Reborn; it'll affect the world as we know it."

Keep in mind, too, that every single Gym Leader in Reborn is custom-fit with Pokemon that have varied, balanced movesets that cover their weaknesses, and use them on the actual competitive level. Like you would find these trainers on Smogon-levels of good. They also have Field Effects that boost their already natural levels of ability and, as well, their weaknesses they can't cover.

And Sky beat them all. Not to mention a bunch of Team Meteor agents and facing the end of the world as we knew it.

It takes a lot of strength, tactical ability, and luck, admittedly, to do what Sky has done. It's no wonder his team have transcended Levels.

If you ever face Sky in battle, you're in for the battle of your life.

Headcanon: Sky’s Power Level

I cannot downplay ever how powerful Sky really can be, As the Champion of Reborn. If we look at the development post, the Trainers in Reborn are most likely one of the hardest challenges ever; even the first gym leader Julia some people can’t beat. 

Keep in mind, Sky overcame all of them.

Julia, Aya, Radomus, everyone. Even Lin and her bullshit 99.7% winrate. Some of these fights included illegal movesets and statchanges, not to mention home-field advantages. (Also keep in mind that since Sky is my PC that I may fudge some things here and there, and that he DOES use reserves for certain fights.)

This really goes to show just how strong Sky really is. Sure, you can chalk it up to Protagonist Armor (Or the Red Phenomenon as cosmoscourge put it), but I don’t think even Red can take on the Reborn Challenge like Sky did. With Reborn, it was a constant battle of life and death, and Sky had to be strong to protect those he cares about. In doing so he’s conquered some amazing feats;

He’s one-shot the Ditto-Transformed Arceus with a Bulk-Up Boosted Hi-Jump Kick from Blaziken, with a 15 Level difference. (’Arceus’ was level 75, and Blazer was ~60)

He’s won all eighteen gym badges.

He’s beaten all of Team Meteor, Lin included.

Effectively, what I’m saying is that Sky isn’t just a protagonist- he’s someone who had everything else to lose; most of the Trainers in official Games so far may deal with Legendary Pokemon and evil team leaders, but not many had to deal with the actual, very possible threat of world destruction. I’d say really only half of them; RSE, DPPt, USUM and SwSh’s protagonists ever faced that threat.

If I’m allowed to flex? Sky can beat Lance. He can beat Steven and Champion-Wallace. He can beat Cynthia, Alder, Champion-Iris, Diantha, Prof. Kukui. I can even wager that he could even beat Leon and Red after at least one or two tries.

But there is one person who has ever beaten him at full power, even with his own Custom Field. And that is his Protege.
