the jeanriko relationship is demented bc its like jean cannot leave evermore because he belongs to the moriyamas. and riko cannot and willnot leave evermore because he IS a moriyama. riko took upon this master/owner trait as a way to ensure he has power over these people even if he has to side with the real men in charge who have power over HIM but it doesn’t change the fact that he’s just as trapped as jean was.

I think Nathaniel would come to the realization of how bad Tetsuji is, and he'd kill him. I don't think Riko ever could, because Tetsuji is the master and all that, he couldn't bring himself to do it. And he'd honestly probably really lash out at Nathaniel for doing it in the first place.

When it comes to how though, I could imagine a few different ways... I'm partial to poisoning though. Less of a trail left that way. But of course Riko would know, he always does. And who else would have the gall to do such a thing?

My personal opinion? I've never messed around with the idea, but I suppose it's interesting. Kill that mf.

I have SOOOO many thoughts about Riko with sexual trauma. Personally a lot of how I think about him is from a psychological pov and kind of based around sadism and how that formas as a trauma response. (I feel like since you like Riko I don't need to clarify I don't think trauma makes any of the shit he did in canon is justified and he's not my uwu baby that does no wrong but ya never know-)

I personally feel its /very/ blatant that Riko's sadism is a direct product of the environment he grew up in- he was raised since /birth/ by /Tetsuji/ in an /isolated cult/. Sadism can often form in people with aspd (or people in general but I also hc the abuse he was raised with gave him aspd) as a way for the person to get 'justice' or to /feel/ like they're getting justice. But in situations where you /can't/ or /don't/ get justice against the one's actually abusing you that can get projected onto people that don't deserve it, that can be kind of how that mindset of "if I'm suffering, everyone else has to as well" can happen

Tetsuji was obviously at the very least physically and psychologically abusive, but given his sexual sadism (and my general head canons about the nature of his specific sadism) I imagine he was also sexually abused by him and sexual sadism- maybe even masochism but wouldn't willingly give up control like that (until Neko wink wonk) - developed as a paraphilia, as well as uses sex as another way of establishing control over /another/ part of his life that's controlled by something else (which I have infinite things to say about his control issues fjkswnks)

His sadism definitely stems from trauma, and I can see sexual abuse being part of that trauma. Especially in the sense that, "if I had to go through it, so do you", for example, with Jean.

If Riko was raped, it would explain why he didn't want to do it himself, but he still wanted to see Jean in pain, because he could. It makes him feel better when he's not the only one who goes through it.

I headcanon Riko to have severe attachment issues, which I spoke about on this post. This would also make sense if he was a victim of sexual abuse.

And like Jean brought up, the Ravens tend to swarm whoever they can get their hands on since they're so lonely and isolated from the rest of the world. They don't even know how to act human. They don't conform to the same moral standards.

And if Tetsuji was the one who started this, of course he won't intervene. I mean, not to say he's not a hypocrite, but still, it would make sense.

(giving him that Butcher of Baltimore Smile (TM) as he says it.) riko's mind that's already primed to spiral at the tiniest hint of a thought of failing at exy sends him straight to a vivid image of nathan's murder basement. it's not going to happen because he's king, he's the best, this is just ridiculous, but what if-?

it starts off as revulsion at the idea that he, a moriyama, would be treated that way by a moriyama servant, no less. but then he can't stop picturing all the horrible and grotesque torture that could happen to him. he hasn't stopped thinking about that one time he saw nathan murder a guy since he was a kid and being put in the murder basement would mean he gets to see nathan work again. and ok that would mean it's being done to him and worst of all, he might not be able to stop it because who would hear him in a dark basement after he's failed at exy but- he CANNOT stop fantasizing about every gory detail. part of him even finds the horrible murder basement fantasy a comfort and reprieve from the real terror of failure.
