When I was younger and researching the autism diagnosis criteria and symptoms, I thought “oh I couldn’t POSSIBLY be autistic.” Because when I read “takes everything literally” I thought it literally meant EVERYTHING and I was like “I don’t take EVERYTHING literally, just most things!” And I just realized the other day that it didn’t actually mean EVERYTHING and that was an overstatement.

fun fact about me is that i went to french immersion from K-12, so i, like most french immersion kids, ended up with a kind of french immersion accent instead of like. quebecois or france french or anything.

and then in university i learned russian and i... also speak russian with a french immersion french accent. i don't know how this happened. the class was taught in english by a ukrainian but apparently my brain has two slots for languages and those slots are "canadian english" and "french immersion french" and all non-english languages go into the second category
