After several years of complete silence, Rodea: The Sky Soldier finally has a specific release date. Fans can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, thanks to the latest issue of Famitsu magazine! Indeed, it has already begun to fuiter on the canvas, which allows us to discover that Rodea and the Sky Soldier will be released on April 2 in Japan. Remember, the game will finally be released on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. On the Nintendo home console, the first edition will include the Wii version (completed there is already a good time, but ultimately did not come out only): This will be the only one to offer the Wiimote controls, obviously. Kadokawa Games and Prope’s flight action platformer Rodea the Sky Soldier is coming to Wii U and 3DS via retail and digital in North America and Europe this fall, NIS America announced.

The game will have players flying through the skies and participating in colossal battles. It promises “endless hours” of gameplay.

1,000 years ago, Emperor Geardo of the Naga Empire sent an army of machine soldiers to invade the sky kingdom of Garuda. Thanks to the efforts of Princess Cecilia and Rodea, a machine soldier who promised to protect Garuda, Emperor Geardo’s assault was thwarted.

In present day, a spirited inventor named Ion discovers an abandoned robot that has fallen into disrepair in the heart of a scorching desert. Upon completing her repairs, the robot stirs to life and reveals itself to be none other than Rodea. Stunned to find himself in the future, Rodea learns that the Naga Empire is no more and that Garuda has known peace for 1,000 years.

But this peace was not meant to last, for the forces of Naga have returned to wage war against Garuda. Remembering the promise he made 1,000 years ago, Rodea takes to the skies to defend Garuda from the Naga Empire once again.

NIS to publish Rodea: The Sky Soldier for Western release

NIS to publish Rodea: The Sky Soldier in the West this fall for Wii U/3DS both physically and digitally!

It was earlier this month when Kadokawa Games President Yoshimi Yasuda alluded that his and Yuji Naka’s upcoming Rodea: The Sky Soldier would see a Western release.

However, Nintendo Everything is reportingthat during NIS America’s annual press event today, the company announced it would publish the game for a release in the West this fall. What’s more, the game will be released both physically…

Rodea: The Sky Soldier is an upcoming Wii U and 3DS game that was originally designed as a Wii title but delayed, for undisclosed reasons, by several years. The fact this game is now coming to Wii U and 3DS is impressive in its own right, but now we have confirmation that the title is in fact coming to North America.

Preorder Rodea the Sky Soldier ⊟

The 3DS and Wii U versions for Rodea the Sky Soldier, the latest from Prope and Sega legend Yuji Naka (NiGHTS, Sonic the Hedgehog), are now available to preorder at Amazon ahead of the games’ release this fall. Via @Wario64

I’m not sure why the 3DS product page shows the boxart to The Arland Atelier Trilogy instead of the game’s beautiful cover, but I guess that serves as a stealth reveal that NIS America will likely bring that collection to North America.

Publisher NIS America still hasn’t decided whether the Wii U edition will include the Wii version as will be the case in Japan, though it hopes to.
