i did some sprite edits!!!

resetfrin and his lovely resetloop.... there are no variations in loop's outfits here so i settled for just the one sprite.

(Sidenote: past this point ill be posting about this au on @slowlysoluminary .... but I'll still be reblogging it on my main !!! the joys of publicity stunts!!!!)

LOOP: Yeah, well nothing's "fine," so... // LOOP, INTERNAL: Might as well pick whichever one will lead to me making a less embarrassing reaction

One name makes you feel as if you've lost your balance, and another makes you feel as if you've lost yourself. One is a reminder of all that you've become, and another is a reminder of all that you will never be again. Although your audience never left, they're only now meeting the person you are today. The thought of hearing the name "Siffrin" fall from their lips again... It's overwhelming. Sickeningly right, and sickeningly wrong. Too soon, when you're still only learning what "tomorrow" feels like.

This is after some progress has been made, Loop's hair is a little bit better taken care of!

Stars this just hurts. At least Siffrin gets a nap.

But Stars- Stardust who is trying to help Siffrin the way Loop helped them, trying to help them learn an important lesson because they can’t just Tell Them.

Stardust who is getting hit with the same hidden regret that Loop probably felt on their go around but at least Loop got the intended outcome.

Stardust just has to sit there Knowing Siffrin’s Party have all died or been frozen. And Siffrin isn’t even awake enough to glance at it.

The more things change the more they stay the same, but even as Stardust tries to retread the path they’ve walked Siffrin isn’t ISAT!Siffrin, Stardust isn’t Loop, it’s never going to be the same because it wasn’t ever equivalent in the first place.

Stardust can’t just go through the motions and end in the same place because the situation Isn’t the same. This time Stardust is in the supporting cast now, pulled in Siffrin’s wake.

And that wake is one that keeps going in circles.

when you meant to do the hang out at the favor tree to show Siffrin how the loops aren't triggered by the death of their friends, but instead they went sleepies and you didnt have the heart to wake them

so now you're realizing this whole plan was dumb from the start because knowing your friends had to go through the entire house and face the King alone makes you sadsies

She/They are my pronouns.

I’ll mostly be reblogging things I’d think, just with alot of words attached to some of them. There will sometimes be my own posts, hopefully.

Stars this is a stellar moment to see, because Siffrin had been following their Role so well up to this point. They’re forced to say the right lines, they can kinda match the physical parts, it seems like a Normal Enough Siffrin despite the torment nexus that are the loops.

But the suddenly they’re Breaking Character, even harder that Loop could ever imagine. Because despite everything Loop still cares about the party, even when they say they’re all Actors. They knew that this would force Siffrin to Loop Back… except they didn’t.

And this is a Breaking Point, where Siffrin should be at their Rawest. At their most emotional due to a Betrayal. But they’re not. Siffrin doesn’t care somehow, something changed to make them not feel the need to Loop from presumably their Party’s death.

But it’s a loop, it’s The Loops, nothing ever changes unless it’s Siffrin’s actions or Loop’s. From Loop’s perspective this horrible break in Siffrin has to be their fault, because despite it all They Didn’t Stop Caring. They must have done SOMETHING to cause this. 

After all, the only two beings that change between loops are Loop and Siffrin. Nothing Else could have caused this… right?

That’s gotta be one heck of a spiral, to have somehow broken yourself that much without knowing how you did it. Without knowing it wasn’t your fault.

OKAY!! heres the fic guys :) is it weird to share a fic via googledocs? maybe!!! but thats how it is.

some fun facts:

- in newgame++ tears stop working on siffrin

- in newgame# siffrin replaces mal du pays and fights loop

- in newgame++ you hug euphrasie

- the arc words for newgame+ as a whole are, "The Universe denies your wish."

- the king kills whoever you wish to spend more time with at the start of the game

- in newgame+++ you can lay down on the floor and feel safe enough for the rock to fall

I would absolutely be interested in reading that scene if you would be willing to share. This au is quickly becoming one of my favorites! also, do each of the newgames focus on a different. objective? kinda like red seemed to be on getting twohats but ++? +++? whats going on there? (this is all so interesting im am so excited for the worldbuilding)

HEHE ok ill find a way to share the fic. i wrote it in google docs for a friend so the formatting is a bit wonky so ill see what i can do to fix it...

as for objectives, well... the reason there are 4 newgames is cause theres 4 wishes you can make! and then +1 (hehehe +) for loop one you get to siffrin# :)

though to be honest beyond that im not quite sure. i guess with each newgame you unlock different scenes, so i suppose its all about finding and getting them? like. event where you get sus event with the other characters. event where you force loop to talk to the party. event where you give the flower to mal du pays.

its a bit wibbly wobbly at the moment but im figuring it out :)

couple questions still!!! siffrin sees the world in color? or just themself? Does he know loop is a siffrin? how do interactions with the king change?? can loop see color as siffrin progresses through the game? Does siffrin gain New ways to be suspicious? mentioning color (would he even know the names?) ? and. also. what exactly is controlling siffrin. the universe? something else?? and the change god. what do they think. is it similar to their feelings towards the original loops? or something else?

Siffrin waking up in newgame+ and seeing . red. i wonder how that went. the color they only saw when he tried to say the name of his country. break the wish. the color he saw when they died trying. and to realize its the color of your eye.

siffrin going through the motions trying to find things new. and. losing autonomy. to try and go find something new, when finally you are willing after the same day and a half for Universe knows how long- and then when you try. you are locked in to the Script. and pulled around like a marionette in a puppet theater. the Universe leads, and you are dragged behind it.

within each newgame, would loop get to know siffrin? would they realize siffrin knows them nearly more than they do themself? when scripted events happen, would each loop realize it is out of character for siffrin in the newgames? being shoved into a costume a play a set that no longer fits? would loop confront them? would they admit?

if they didn't well. it is siffrin. they would rather let themselves die than let others know their problems. but. if they did? and the newgame resets to the next +,,,, and loop doesnt remember.

would they only double down on their silence? having told your issues you were finally getting better finally getting somewhere- and yet. you are still in the same damn spot nothing changed and you are alone again- this time. not even your "sponsor" can help you. they don't really know you anymore do they.

glaksdhfjkahsggkhlg ythe new game + au---- i love it so much heres a couple doodles/ideas (mostly just the star hat, i think the inside of the cloak would be like that too) (and the edge of the cloak has a star/solar system pattern)

ANYWAYS. ok actual question answering time

1: siffrin sees the world in color! well. as he unlocks them. buuut the people around him don't change. like. their skin/hair/eyes dont change, but the grass and the sky and the buildings and the outfits and everything else does! this is cuz i want to emphasize siffrins kind of. eldritch nature almost? like. sorry siff you are now even more distinctly other. there is no cure. lol!

1.1: also yeah its just siff. loop remains in moochromatic reality! does this make them more or less of the "real siffrin" idk! something fun to think abt

2: siffrin+ doesn't know! since in the canon of newgame+ siffrin got onehat ending on his first run. siffrin+ does get the twohat ending though, so he knows after that!

3: ohhh jeez sif and the king got a weird relationship. just in general. but also i think siffrin has more time to really explore how he feels abt the king. cause like....idk. he doesnt forgive the king. it would be dishonest to say that. but he thinks he understands the king more, every loop. he understands why the king would want to preserve everything, esp after siffrin has had the rug ripped out from under him so many times. "why won't you let me save you?" they both think, weapons drawn.sorry im normal

4: well! the universe is controlling him. the change god is also controlling him? basically the universe got upset bc its few remaining charges were compromised. the king effectively dead, loop unsatisfied, and siffrin drained of energy. the universe, realizing the practice of wishcraft may be lost with siffrin... decides to force siff to make the most of it. like when yoi purchase a game for too much money and 100% it out of spite. the change god is. not happy about this!!! so the change god and the universe basically strike a deal where the change god gets to change stuff up a bit every time the universe rewinds things. its weird god politics. its why siffs lil charm changes!! and the hair grows!! qnd all the other stuff!!!!

5: you have noooo idea how crazy loop and siff make me in this au. siffrin+ being terrified and going to loop for help only for them to remember nothing. siffrin+ learning at the very end who loop is. loop slowly falling out of sync with siffrin. while the first time around they could practically read your mind- they can't anymore. and they don't even Know. I actually wrote a fic/scene of the au abt this if ur interested <3

i really like siffrin+'s design but everything after that is kind of a meh. maybe instead of having everything add onto each other siff gets different accessories each time?

oh itd be fun if he could only see one color at a time and then siffrin# could see all of them. hmmmm... much to think about!

oh and btw... while siffrin sees everything in the world changing... he only sees his own eyes/hair/skin gain color. its an eldritch horror thing. its also fun foreshadowing since loop also gains color. :3
