No Justice League identity reveal but Nightwing gets recruited to be a member

Batman wants to keep his family safe but also realizes that his baby boy is a grown man and can make his own decisions, even if this baby gives him a heart attack.

Nightwing is strong, smart, and levelheaded in battle. He’s got a good personality that many heroes, young and old, admire greatly. It would be a great disservice to the the hero world.

So Nightwing joins the Justice Leauge.

Boom, immediately everyone feels like something is wrong. Nightwing is a legend of his own in the superhero community, just like Batman. Obviously, the League figured the only two unpowered humans in the team would get along, but this is too much

Nightwing is constantly on him. Hanging off his shoulders, playing with his fingers, draped over his lap, flipping off his shoulders??? Doing a whole acrobatic routine based on Batman’s body??? It’s strange and off putting.

Batman pretends like it’s not even happening, like he’s completely used to it.

He calls him nicknames, mocks his voice and his serious attitude, argues with him. It’s like the League has been dumped in an alternate dimension. (They’ve checked, but no… still the same dimension)

Now, something hero’s are painfully aware of is that Batman can be kinda territorial about his food. He doesn’t do jokes about trying to steal his food. He leveled Hal with such a flat stare that the man actually apologized and stayed silent for an entire lunch period

And Nightwing has grown close enough to all the main League members that he’s invited to sit at their ‘table’ for lunch. Another reason they’re suspicious of Nightwing, he voluntarily sits by Batman

Nightwing has his own food and finishes it in record speed (obvi not counting Flash) but then… he starts picking at Batman’s…?

Batman doesn’t even blink or slap his hand away. Then Nightwing opens his mouth like a baby bird waiting to be fed and… Batman feeds him??? He cuts off the best part of his steak and just pops it into Nightwing’s mouth.

Why are they both acting like this is complete normal???

Nightwing is stealing his lunches, taking snack out of his utility belt (which is just wow cause why does Batman carry so many snacks??), taking sips of his drinks or just stealing the whole thing for himself

It’s absolutely crazy

And on rare occasions, when Nightwing is eating something he doesn’t like or can’t finish, he just pushes over to Batman. And he eats it!!

The League checks again just to make sure they still haven’t been transferred to another dimension

I think that Jon unconsciously tunes into Damian and I don’t mean just his heartbeat but his voice and surroundings as well. He started doing it after he found out Damian has died before and did it out of anxiety but now it’s just background noise. However the moment someone insults Damian or when he gets into big fights with his family members (read:Bruce) not their general petty ones, it comes to the forefront of his mind and it takes everything in him to not go there and defend him.

Everyone is confused whenever Jon randomly has beef with them when in true detective fashion Tim figures it out, at first he thought Damian just told him but sometimes he comes out of nowhere after someone insults Damian (Jon has anger issues he just can’t help himself sometimes) which is when he tests it out by insulting Damian very badly while holding a sign 🪧 saying “I don’t mean it, I’m doing an experiment so don’t say anything” which confuses Damian who only gets even more confused when Jon comes barrelling in before it clicks.

“Bruce doesn’t know how to cook” “Bruce doesn’t make his own bed” have you considered the possibility that Bruce knows how to do all of those things but lets Alfred do them anyway because if he doesn’t, the whole Manor falls apart?

Bruce lets Alfred make the bed because after the close call with Killer Croc last night it’s either crisp folded sheets pressed to perfection OR Alfred goes deep into the Gotham sewers with a rifle, a belt of flash-bangs, and 30 years of unresolved overprotectiveness.

King and Mayor

DP x DC Prompt

Danny has been Mayor of Gotham for a while already. Having become Mayor when Damian had become Robin at 12. He may have another role of power, but that won't stop him from helping others.

He had become the mayor when he was too tired and thinking about other things, like his Ghost King duties, and accidentally signed up for the candidacy. And since almost all of Gotham didn't want their current mayor in power, it was almost a unanimous vote for Danny to be the next mayor.

The Batfam has no clue that Danny is the new mayor, as they all had a lot to deal with during the voting. They all believe that the same mayor is still in power and is being bought off by the Rogues to ignore most of them. Danny is refusing the money the Rogues offer him, as he's already got too much money because of his Ghost King inheritance.

Danny is working on making the city a better place, as Lady Gotham was kind enough to welcome him into her haunt after he lost his to the GIW and his parents. He's also gotten a good chance of getting Batman to investigate the GIW. First, he made sure that none of his workers could be bought out by the Rogues, ensuring that they were well paid and had protection for both them and their families (Danny asks Ghosts with obsessions related to protecting to guard his workers and their families).

Once he had ensured that his workers were protected and paid well enough, he moved on to making sure the GCPD wouldn't be bought out and had good healthcare specialists he found in the Infinite Realms heal the GCPD officers.

The Batfam will learn of the new mayor when Jim tells Batman about the new mayor helping the GCPD be less corrupt.

Mini Prompt: Everyone needs to calm down

Batfam is convinced that Danny is a young clone of Bruce, and prepares themselves to have a new son/brother join the family. 

Bruce even goes above and beyond as he arranges a “play date” for Danny and Conner to meet. A way to show Danny that he’s not the only clone around, and that he will always be a part of the family. 

They do all of this before they actually confirm anything. Danny is not a clone.
