Books I've read/on my TBR that I think TGS Jekyll would enjoy:

The Wayward Children Series by Seanan McGuire - I think the series would heal his inner child, also, there's a character who's apprenticed to a Frankenstein inspired scientist, so absolute bonus!

The Spirit Bares Its Teeth by Andrew Joseph White - Victorian Era, autistic trans boy with a special interest in surgery? He loves it (even moreso if you headcanon him as a trans man, which I love and need to see/write more of:) )

The Uncensored Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde - The even gayer version, I need not say more.

A Clash of Steel by C.B. Lee - Treasure Island retelling, plus, in a old piece of art from Sage's asks about Jekyll's favorite books, he's shown with Treasure Island. I can see him really enjoying it!

Honestly? The entire Remixed Classics series, I'll list them below the cut in order. Specifically, I think he'd enjoy Self-Made Boys by Anna-Marie McLemore (TFT Gatsby and Nick) and Most Ardently by Gabe Cole Novoa (Gay Darcy and Trans man second eldest Bennet child named Oliver) Queer young men entering a different, and higher, society and another also queer young man they fall in love with helping them navigate it.

Greetings from Edinburgh!

Still here for a few more days, but I’ve had a wonderful time studying abroad in Scotland! While I didn’t go to Glasgow, just getting to be here has been lovely.

I have so much I’ve been writing in my drafts that I can’t wait to post, but it’s been far too long since I wrote about doing something for 100 followers, and I apologize for that.

So, no time like the present! In celebration of hitting 100 followers, I want to do a quick writing event.

I will be writing two approx. 1,000-1,500 word fics for two random followers who comment on this!

Jekyll and Utterson Headcanons

They are extremely close platonically (Utterson is AroAce in my headcanon)

The embodiment of “soulmates aren’t just lovers”

Next to Lanyon, Jekyll was with Utterson most of the time in University

If he wasn’t in the library or with Lanyon, he was in Utterson’s dorm

Both are touch-starved, and they’d have moments where they’d just hold each other

Post-Break-up, Jekyll found comfort from Utterson

Utterson taught Jekyll how to crochet at one point, to help with the latter’s anxiety

As adults, they do their best to meet up when they can, despite schedules getting in the way

They have similar tastes in tea

Lanyon: “That, darling, I can. I’ve decided that I’ve been sitting on the sidelines far too much lately. Things have gotten messy. Out-of-hand. I thought you could be trusted to keep a handle on things but it looks like I was wrong.”

Jekyll: “It… A lot has happened recently.”

Lanyon: “Yes, nobody’s denying that but one can’t simply say ‘Well, it’s too much’ and just throw in the towel. Really, Jekyll, I can’t believe you even went so far as to make a deal with Hyde of all people.”

Jekyll: “It worked out.”

Lanyon: “Temporarily, darling. We both know that Hyde is far too foolish to stay in his place. It’s only a matter of time before he starts causing trouble yet again. Something else must be tried. And I already know exactly what to try.”

Jekyll: “…What is it?”

Lanyon: "Chains made of pure British repression. Hyde has encountered them once already. I make them myself. Just like the ghosts that you see around you now, all made from the same little material."
