I haven’t had an orange in a whole year now. I love oranges. They are the best fruit in existence. But every time I touch one I physically recoil, and if I smell it I start gagging. I tried pushing through to eat one and I actually threw up.

I’m… adjusting.

There was some kind of weird time dilation, a lot stronger than I usually get from multiverse hopping. And my parasite can’t see my memory of that place so that’s kinda worrying? I can’t pretend I’m not shaken up by it, it was a lot. I uh… I didn’t actually post most of it. But I’m not physically hurt and no wizards have yelled at me for messing something up so I think it’s fine.

Look, I’m not gonna pretend that I know your individual social situation. When I say “social creature” it’s a classification that applies to a lot of beings, it just means that, as a species, they form communities rely on each other and form long-term bonds. Humans are social creatures. Raccoons are social creatures. Æsir are social creatures. Wolves are social creatures. Jotun are social creatures. Hell, ants are social creatures. Emotions are a natural part of evolution, the good and the bad. You’re not special just cause you’ve gone through shit.

What I do know is that Ceres does fucking need you. Not just for practical reasons, but because they value you. I’ve barely spoken with them and I can see how important you are to them. You’re their family. I don’t know how you’ve deluded yourself into thinking you’re completely alone.

So I can’t like. Actually stop you from doing that. But maybe don’t? The ability to form strong emotional bonds is one of the things which allow social creatures to exist. And as much as it may feel like it’s just hurting you, there’s a lot more to it.

Even if you do find this spell, it won’t take away the hurt. It’ll just transfer it to someone else. Emotional connection goes both ways. The people around you will notice.

oh boy do i

1. stay out of the drama! it's not worth it. stick with a good friend group that stays out of gossiping circles and drugs.

2. don't take school too seriously, but don't slack off on assignments, either! make sure you do well on all of your freshman classes now, or else senior you will be very upset.

3. befriend your teachers. no, not in a teacher's pet way, but in an easy conversation way. don't be a goof in class, pay attention (or act like you are), and get your work done. you have no idea how many benefits you'll get in class by just being nice to your teacher.

4. start developing fun hobbies now. this is the perfect time to get involved in things you've always wanted to try. crochet club? robotics? model un? go for it. now's your time to really learn about yourself.

5. okay, hear me out on this one. no seriously, hear me out. develop some good habits like exercising or eating well. you will feel so much better and healthier if you just go for a light jog or even just a walk around the block before school, and maybe try to be more conscious about what you intake. school sucks and is super stressful. i know i was a victim of stress eating my freshman year, so i really wish i put more thought into what i was eating and why i was doing it.

anyways, you'll have a blast. freshman year is nothing to be worried about. it's a new change and a fresh start. you'll do great

Absolutely!

My personal favorite place is Sips ‘n Spines. It’s kinda like a cafe/soup kitchen/library/ community center combo. Best place in the city, and they’ve got a bunch of casseroles which are sooooo good. Completely pay-what-you-can, which is great for you since it’s kinda hard to pass off other universes’ cash as ours, due to the whole color thing. Seriously, it’s the best place in the city.
