breaking this blog out of me forgetting about it for a second to cry about wowaka because. man, i don’t think i really have a good idea how much his songs helped me out when i was young.  i know a lot of people cite rolling girl as the reason they got through a lot when they were younger and i wholeheartedly agree it did nothing but good for me. i remember when i’d follow vocaloid cover artists and get ecstatic whenever they covered it too (and usually go and drop everything to listen to the covers in the process).

i remember hearing unknown mother goose the first time through fantastic youth covering it and being like “oh shit, this is wowaka, haven’t listened to his stuff in forever.” and then just went on a spree of listening to all the songs and laughing when i could recall the lyrics accurately despite the fact that the songs were in japanese and really fast-paced.

i dunno, this guy just made so much of my childhood and early teen years what they were. some of my first art is miku stuff based on his songs. my first attempt at animation was set to rolling girl. it’s just so heartbreaking that he’s gone now. i hope he rests in peace and makes some kickass beats with samfree and powapowa-p in heaven.

Little details about the sinners that I feel are under-appreciated

-Venomania is literally described in official materials as an “airhead” and spends the first few chapters of the Lust novel stumbling around without any clue as to what he’s supposed to be doing

-Banica lived a very impressive life before she made her contract, winning many peoples’ respect and wracking up multiple accomplishments all before she even had any help from the demon

-Riliane wasn’t present at Allen’s execution

-Margarita would have been a freshmen in high school when she got married and a sophomore when she murdered everyone in Toragay

-Kayo did everything she did out of a cold blooded desire for revenge against Kai. She knew exactly what she was doing, she just hated him that much.

-Gallerian was drunk and barely able to walk when he had sex with Ma

-Nemesis hates academic work and is fairly easily manipulated by those around her

Ten years of the Evillious Chronicles

Today, mothy/Akuno-P’s first ever Vocaloid song, 10-Minute Love, came out exactly ten years ago.

Today, the PV of Master of the Heavenly Yard, chronologically last song in the Evillious Chronicles and culmination of a series that has been going for ten years, comes out.

It’s been a wild ride. Since then, we’ve had 61 songs, 13 novels, 28 manga volumes, a few musical adaptations– and more.

So to commemorate this past decade and all the memories we made, here’s a proposition:

A grand collaboration from the entire (we hope) English-speaking fandom.

The plan is to create a video using art from as many people as possible, of as many characters as possible– a slideshow set to Master of the Heavenly Yard– and send it to Mothy on the anniversary of Daughter of Evil, April 6.

This isn’t about art skill. This is about community and showing appreciation. Even if you can only draw stick people, go ahead and submit anyway to show your love!
