I did some reference studies of the designs from the artbook, and it kinda looks like the Wylder's left hand is kinda fucked up? It's also the hand he uses his greatsword in, and that weapon is also awfully chipped. And then taking into consideration his and the Duchesses remembrances, I got to thinking, what if he's got some kinda Ashitaka thing going on?

What if, in a fight he got into before he woke up in the Roundtable Hold, he hit something with the sword that he really shouldn't have and it channeled dark energy into him, messing up his blade and his hand.

I also like this being what grants him the flame followup attack - after his weapon is repaired with the whetstone and he gets some control.

I need to play more Guardian to get those remembrances and figure out what happened to his wing but... he's hard to play :( I rly like his character though.
