Meeting2, headache2.. By the time I reached home, I still had the headache. Went to the grocers before home to stock up on toiletries I have to bring for next week's trip! Today's fit was tudung bawal for the first time in my life (to work) and it did surprise some people!

Totally feeling my color palette today!

For dins we went to Top Global at a different branch and I feel it's much more chill than the one in KD. Not as many people. Afterwards I wanted coffee but the only shop opened was this shady cafe which was proven to be shadier after Zuls spotted a "penarik" near the ceiling of the shop. It's this black magic tangkal thing that some Malays use to "attract" customers. It's syirik. Safe to say we will never go there again.

Happy birthday to Kay! 🎂

We have a stepcousin's wedding this Sunday and they told us last minute that the theme is purple so I decided to buy something from Zalora and paid extra for their 'next-day delivery'. Pricey though!

Received a promotional email from mpo that they're playing music from The Godfather in June! Say no more and take my money! 😂💸

For dins, we went to matcha & co and had HWC as a nightcap hehe. Also reminder not to use the surau at Lotus anymore because it ranked so bad 😮‍💨

Went to the carwash anddd I finally got a magic keyboard for my ipad! woohoo! I thought of bringing along my mac but I figured it'd be too heavy. It took awhile to sort it out at the store though because they had to update my iPadOS first. Continued to do groceries.

By the time I reached home, received email about the adobe price hike. Im well aware that I PS way less these days due to work, but having access to them gives me comfort so I took the plunge of an annual subscription because it was cheaper than my current monthly plan.

So the Zalora purple dress that I ordered on Friday and paid extra for 'next-day delivery' never arrived. Im furious! Ended up having to wear an older kurung for the stepcousin's reception today. But the day was fun because I love seeing my Dad happy to see his big stepfamily. The wedding venue was next to a fire station. It was so cute!

For dins we went to Fridays and zuls played with my old new camera. I need to go out more and play with it more myself..

The problem with me is I get too shy to take out the camera and actually use it because I tend to overthink about what others may think. But I really shouldn't care because nobody actually cares!!

Ended the night with coffee at HWC :)

My block leave and the trip with my folks begin next week! Woohoo!

We had a meeting first thing in the morning and the three of us set up shop at different rooms even though we're all hosting the same meeting 😂 But Im not complaining, I LOVE having my own space.

After work had to shop for things to donate for CSR and this is my very first time actually using a shopping cart! I've never needed to shop for big hauls before because the things that I buy either for myself, or for my Mom are usually smaller packaged things that I could carry in the shopping basket.

Not gona lie but pushing the cart as a first-timer was a struggle 😅

17th April 2025, Thursday Listening: Dreaming of You, The Coral

Woop to 17! But MAJOR cramps day 🥴 Thankfully our movie’s later in the afternoon so I got to rest and sleep in. Popped panadols and thankfully the pain subsided by the time I had to go out. Blood Brothers was a good local movie, I did not feel like it was a waste. Had Padi for late lunk / early dins. Mediocre food, wouldn't necessarily go there again. I remember during my uni days, Padi cyber was all we ever went to lol.

Zuls was recording all these short clips for his little project, he even went to the extreme of crossing a big road..

Insane!!

Before that, we went to Whisk just for him to grab my coffee while I wait in the car hehe. Then went to the MRT for more of his short clips, even took a ride just for the heck of it. It was fun because there weren't any people around so we took some pics and I stupidly wore mismatched sandals when I stepped out the car 😂 (my birkenstocks are my driving slippers).

And then when we got back to the car, I realized I was missing my powtop AND my cc! I immediately concluded that they were both probably on my lap while I was driving and when I stepped out of the car, both items dropped on the ground without me realizing it. I've already accepted that fate but Zuls kept on looking inside and outside of the car and even walked back to the MRT station to check if I had dropped them along the way. Ended up going to brix which thankfully was still open and bought myself a new one 😅

What an eventful day!

Took Zuls to village park for his first time and he liked it! Wanted coffee afterwards but realized Chase was a bit too far from where we parked and it was extremely windy that day, causing my tudung to be flipping all over the place so ended up having HWC inside starling instead. Not bad. Will repeat. Left to BJ for some random burger that Zuls wanted but I was still full from the nasi lemak earlier so I just ordered loaded fries,

Thankful. It's always good to see my girlfriends because sometimes they make me relook into whatever situation Im in or decision Im about to make. It helps me recenter.

Woke up super early because..

a) Im still pumped over yesterday's lovely meetup with Tqa & Bubu! b) Last night turned out well :) c) Picking up my new camera at 9.15am today!

So since I had time to kill until my meet-up with the Carouseller, I finally did my Cortez GS re-unboxing that has been in my camera since January 😂

Met up with the Carouseller at centre point. Can't wait to play with my new old camera hehe. Started playing with it the moment I reached home 😊

Did not eat lunk to save space for hazira's open house at 2pm! Went with my folks because they're friends with hazira's folks. I like being in Dad's space and see how he's like amongst his "gang" lol. Another dose of SA energy today!

Later at night, 2121 and I tried Top Global and my goodness I literally cried because it was so spicy! I don't think Im in the ayam Gepuk bandwagon because of my extremely noob tolerance to spicy food 😅

But the ayam Gepuk dins perfectly summed up my week. The week was spicy, like I did not feel anything when I took a bite until it hits me in the buds and it became a mixture of excitement and pain (lol) before it finally settled down after a couple of sips. Does that make sense?

Some stepfam dropped by for a Raya visit and it was chaotic. I am also working today so I had to rush the prep before jumping back to work. Mom said thank God Im around because otherwise she would've needed to prep on her own. Im glad Im around too.

Selamat Hari Raya! 🌙

Usual routine of morning Raya breakfast, prayers & Salam before visiting. This year, the family wears blue! I wore the baju kurung that my Mom made me when I was in my teens. I did not like the baju back then, but now that Im an adult, I appreciate every single thing that Mom makes me, they are priceless.

We went to Pak Lai's > Pak Pin's > Pak Cik Udin's. My 2 other brothers are with their in-laws' this year so we only had my Sister's family over.

All my life I've always celebrated here, this is my kampung.

I love my family so much.

Raya break starts today. Went to the clinic in the a.m. because they wanted to draw my blood for a test. My face gets inflamed at the most random moments and it frustrates me.

Went out to Empire afterwards to initially buy new airisms for Raya but apparently my size is only available online. Booo. Also bumped into Ben! Im truly loving this week of bumping into people :)

Did Raya food shopping at the grocers and went nuts on nuts at mahnaz as my family's Raya gifts to people.

Really hope my face gets better at least for Raya. In the meantime, I need to:

Also for berbuka today both my brother and Zuls texted me at the same time to tell me that they bumped into each other at Saddam hehe so cute.

I earlier thought that Raya was today. On the bright side, Ive got an extra day to prep the house so today I spent the majority of the day cleaning the kitchen.

My sister and her family are sleeping over tonight. Watched the kids play bunga api, can't believe Ramadan is done. Feeling bittersweet as always. This year's Ramadan has been a calm one (aside from the explosion at work).

And since many years ago, my Syawal eve "tradition" or "routine" would be watching The Darjeeling Limited. I don't know exactly why I do this every year.

Happy 17! On leave today just for this. We went to get baju melayu and plastic canisters for raya and finished those two tasks way earlier than expected so killed time at this place called Jalan Jalan Japan and what a shop full of randoms..they even sell used sporting goods, maybe I could buy my tennis racket there next time? Went to OU (surprise, surprise) to kill more time, bumped into Hani & she always looks so good! Gotta love her hustle. Finally settled down at our dins place and it was so convenient because there's a surau few shops down from theirs. You can find my Google review here hehe.

Afterwards we wanted coffee and finally decided to try this cafe that we often pass by but never bothered to enter. The place is pretty, but the coffee was not memorable at all..heck I don't even remember the name of the cafe..maybe people come here for the 'gram?

Overall a lovely Monday :)

Thank God it's Saturday!

Super fun day. Shopped for my Raya shoes :) Wanted the specific pair I saw online and went to Parkson but they didn't have them at the store :( Decided to try my luck at Zara and Zuls found TWO cute pairs at Zara Kids (thank God for my smol feet!) and was thisss close to buying both pairs but thankfully my willpower is strong enough this Ramadan and I bought only ONE pair :) Can't wait to wear them!

Went window shopping some more just to kill time but left the mall earlier to avoid bad traffic and stopped by a nearby Petronas near our dinner spot to wait for Maghrib.

Food was delish! 10 out of 10 will come again! this was Sabah keratang;

Afterwards had our usual kopi at whisk, bumped into fry lol.

Great night!

Tak puasa today. Took my own sweet time eating breakfast at home before leaving for work & surprisingly enough I still arrived the office on time \o/

Puasa or tak puasa is still the same because I didn’t eat or drink for the entire day at the office. My tuna breakfast was essentially my sahur.

I saw this on Twitter and they coincidentally match with all of my siblings' personalities, including myself 😂

Highlight of the day was finally meeting up with 2121! Initially wanted nandos but saw a better deal at BIG so he had a burger while I ordered the chicken at The Grocers Kitchen. It was not bad at all. Nightcap of whisk ☕️

Earlier today just tidied up the room a bit, vacuumed the house, and finally left to the grocers for oat milk because Gege got us a new frother ☕️

Started watching Sweet Magnolias again since I just found out about the new season. This series is so wholesome and very Hallmark-y it really does make me feel warm. I used to cannot imagine myself living in such a tight-knit community but after thinking about the possibility of me ending up being alone, it's actually not that much of a bad idea after all. Maybe not now, but later, if I live that long.

It also hit me hard since today I learned that a very old close friend has ghosted us. It really felt like a breakup, you know that feeling of a heavy heart? It hurts. Losing someone near and dear at this age is far more difficult than having the fun friends you made in high school or college phasing out of your life. I am genuinely heartbroken.

Still at Level 4 but Im not complaining. I love this space of ours. Apart from our boss and my lead, I was the only team member that dialed in for the Town Hall. "Simple, better, faster".

Too much work. I needed a nap. Still haven't done tax returns.

Ended up clocking out LATE because of a last minute meeting but thankfully made it home on time about 10mins before berbuka.

Continued working immediately after Maghrib and jumped into a work call until 11.30pm, at this point I still haven't showered. Continued working until 235am, sent the email, showered, prayed & crashed at 3am..

My brother's family came over for berbuka tonight and it was lovely. Also finished up the doodle I started last night;

First week of March is done and so has the first week of Ramadan!

Dins was xxl chicken & sweet potato fries because I was craving. For lunk we had neighbowl which I miraculously finished because I did not get to have my morning nasi lemak since I was late. But our boss was also late so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Had ice cream before sending 2121 home. By the time I reached mine, I was too exhausted to do anything else because of the long days of work these past few days, just prayed, called 2121 goodnight and zzz.

I had to administer the moving day at the office today and I promised the movers 10am. I arrived right on time but was immediately attacked by the movers’ supervisor for being “late”. To be honest I felt like biting back but was proud that I managed to play it cool and diffused this aggressive man so he ended up cooperating well. Even the movers were nice to me. I know it definitely pays when you return other people’s aggravation with softness because it has worked so many times for me but it is also extremely tiring to be the one who has to contain my anger every.single.time.

After administering the moving of boxes, I straightaway jumped into a Teams call and then had to immediately go home because I left my laptop charger.

Oh how I will miss level 4 :(

Today I learned that you’re actually not allowed to ganti puasa one day before ramadan begins because it falls under “Hari Syak”. I actually still have one more day of puasa to ganti 😅

I hosted our very first PPD SS and it went swimmingly well. I am really working hard to get a better pay so I can save more..

Got the car back late in the afternoon. It feels so much smoother now. Im still contemplating to either let the car go, or keep on maintaining it. It is getting a bit too expensive. The car is 12 years old.

Yesterday when I came home, the house slippers I ordered from Shoppee finally arrived from CN and they're cute!

For some reason I wanted to save money instead of ordering in breakfast like I usually do so I made some instant bihun, lol.

Left to 21's and went to the hardware store nearby his place. 1MK for Nando's and did all my groceries there after eating. Coffee at Chase, and entered Starling for Mr DIY, and we passed by a cute shop selling paper products so I stocked up on birthday cards for my family.

Also 2121 got me flowers from the grocers, I am that typical girl who lovessss receiving flowers hehe 💐

My morning was horrible. Spent the ENTIRE morning in bed nursing my massive headache and sniffles. Felt better after Zohor and a nap. Was supposed to meet up at Ara to return a cable but there was a misscomm so headed to 21 and just passed it on.

Difficult, confusing day.

I didn't want to head home so I killed time just parking before eventually buying something to eat, bought panadols and (a sucky) latte at 15 Courtyard.

Night was spent working.

Back to work. I wore the tudung that Juls gifted me and I was complimented by YY and others! I guess they've gotten so used to seeing me in neutrals so the moment I wear a different color, it's an instant attention grabber 😂

Lunk was imtiyaz nasi campur and the mamak packed me way too much rice & lauk. Did not finish. The day went swimmingly well and then JT made me realize that it's Chap Goh Mei, so no wonder! Over the years, I have noticed that during Chap Goh Mei, my boss will always be in a better mood as well.

For dins, we decided on Ikea cafeteria which was surprisingly empty. Bought post-wb. Stopped by OU for Whisk but they were closing so 2121 walked to Tim Horton's and so we tried it for the very first time, and....meh.

But then again Im fully aware that people don't actually go to chain cafes for coffee. People go there for their "fun" drinks. I would genuinely go again to try out their dessert iced drinks.

I bought another post-wb flavor out of impulse. Not proud of the person I am turning into.

Work was decent. Gege's home so that's always fun. Told 2121's story about the masjid people to my Dad and Gege and they had a field day about it! 😂

The battery to our Dad's phone has been acting up so Gege and I planned to buy a new phone for him and we settled on another Samsung with a stylus because Baba uses the stylus a lot on his current phone and he's already used to using Samsung so it would be a much easier transition. Im excited for the phone to arrive!

Also TnG finally came through with my refund. FINALLY.

For dins, 2121 and I had Vicchuda. So simple yet so good.. Had our nightcap of Whisk, and Cinnabon has finally re-opened in OU \o/ I know Im not supposed to consume wheat but this is something that is worth the pain 😂

Went to the drive-thru before going to the SC. Had to leave the car there so I took a Grab home. The driver was telling me a story about how a friend of a friend of his uses the parents' Porsche to do Grab. How lucky would the passenger be!

Last minute order of Wunderbath for Fana's pressies. The SC finally called me about the car. Yikes 💸 I've been toying with the idea of buying a new car, but if I actually do, I wouldn't have as much 'fun' money as I do now, so.... I don't know.

Dad's phone arrived today!! Unfortunately I wouldn't be home to witness him opening it. Boooo.

After I picked up the car from SC, went straight to meet up with the girls! I've never had Ted Boy before and boy their food was delish! And then we walked across the street to check out the flea market and wow it was a very pretty event!

Ended the night with dessert at some chia bar. Fun night, thank you ladies!

Off day! Started the day with Petrosains! 2121 played a lot while I was just walking around trying to read stuff on the display but it was just.. not my thing? I guess I enjoy looking at paintings or going for shows instead of this. But I still had fun seeing 2121 hyped up 😂

Fun!

HOWEVER, we wasted our time on the road because the place we wanted to go to for lunk ended up being closed. Traffic was bad because it was peak hours. Ended up having late lunk at Pasadena and I tried their dipping burger which surprisingly did not leave me gassy despite eating their muffins. Even though it was tasty, I think I'll stick with my usual Boston.

Afterwards decided to go to OU, initially just for coffee, but ended up having a Zanmai dins!

Still on leave! Since 2121 had to leave for his Dad’s birthday dins after Asar, we went out earlier for lunk at Macha & co. But first, dropped off my "recyclables" which were my old law books & statutes. RIP potential law career. I am officially done. Im sorry Ma & Ba.

We were walking towards Lotus’ for my groceries when we passed by Habib. I've been meaning to replace the ring I received from my Mom years ago, which I lost (or possibly stolen, because it went missing from my office desk. Im the kind of person who takes off all jewelry on my fingers whenever it's crunch time and I need to FOCUS). But thankfully the RA showed another ring which looked so much similar so I settled on that one. But had to have it re-sized because my finger is too thin (Im a ring size 5 or 6 😩). Can't wait to pick it up tomorrow! I know I need it replaced soon before Mom noticed that I haven't been wearing it.. At least from afar, it looks similar to the old ring 😅

For tonight's Friday dins, we went back to Khatija after a string of "fancier" places lol. Since my stomach is STILL acting up, I ordered bihun soup but it was spicy 🌶️ Thankfully managed to control my system I until we reached home..

Oh yeah somebody finally bought my stupid T-Mart coach jacket! Thank God & good riddance!

18th January 2025, Saturday Listening: Sleeping In, The Radio Dept.

Mom accompanied Dad to kebun again today so Ive got the house to myself. Started the morning with laundry as usual, packed up the Carousell parcel and left to J&T before tapao-ing lunk at the drive-thru. Another load of laundry before finally sitting down for lunk while watching Hannah Ricketts 😬 Vacuumed downstairs, cleaned the standing fans, and my initial plan was to continue with the cleaning but I got frustrated after failing to close the grill cover of one the standing fans, it took me 15 minutes of tries until I eventually gave up on everything! Wanted to take a nap before going out to get the car washed but I ended up recording a video of the dunks that Gege surprised me with last week! 😄🎁. It was raining anyway so had to wait awhile until it stopped before finally getting the car washed, petrol filled and ready for tomorrow's drive!

2121's out on a footie match tonight so I spent it "editing" the video I filmed in the afternoon and now it's up! 😄

Driving the folks to Perak today! I LOVE driving. I honestly prefer to drive than be driven. Im definitely NOT a passenger princess 😅

I love seeing my Dad happy to meet up with his cousins. He is actually quite close with everyone! Stopped by sg buloh jejantas before home because Mom wanted satay. She is the cutest ❤️

Despite my 2 days of food poisoning, my 3rd week of the year was great!
