And payback,” She told her husband with a playful grin. “I was showing Alexa how the sire bond works. But, seeing how you’re already here and all, mind getting me a coffee? And actually now that I think about it, Alexa might want a coffee too.”

“The only thing wrong with that is that I’m pretty sure that I’m supposed to be paying attention to the therapy portion. Not how good at sex he was. Because he was great at it. He knew exactly...Okay see how easily I get distracted by that?” Alexa’s brow rose and she smiled when Dani asked Grant for coffee. “I mean if you’re going...of course I’d love coffee too. But only because she invited you and offered.” 

Grant found himself chuckling at Dani’s words. “Okay...I see how it is...paying me back for all the coffee runs. You’re very lucky I love you, because obviously, I’m going to get the coffee, but you owe me. Anything else you ladies need before I go?” he asked, not wanting to make several trips.

“I think that’s how you know things need to change. When you start getting used to things. But I’ll save my fight the power speeches for another day.” She shook her head at the thought. She wasn’t thinking when she asked. That a faerie might not be as okay with a ripper. “That was probably stupid to even broach the topic of with you. But wait you never avoid me. I mean you’ve been...very close to me. To put it in G-rated terms.” She looked away from him when he asked if the person she was speaking about was her. “Y-yeah. It’s me.”

At the mention of false information, Mitch made a face. “Call, text, face-time. I’d love to join you.” A slow grin eased over his lips. “Oh. I like all of that. Especially messy and torture. It’s-” He gives a chef kiss. “A specialty of mine.”

“I don’t know. Probably because you’re you and I’m me.” She grinned at his reaction to her spin. “Don’t tell me...you’re not only incredibly handsome and with a dark side. You’ve got me practically tingling in all the right places,” she said with a smirk. She hadn’t been so sure that he would be into torture and messiness, but apparently, he was.

“I actually think you look really beautiful like this. Don’t tell, Nat,” Chloe whispered, holding a finger over her lips as if to keep a secret. The corner of her lips tilting up in an almost sick sense of admiration as she watched Alexa dig her fangs into the man’s neck. If it had been any other day, Chloe would have been hit with a wave of guilt and would have quickly looked away. But, today was different. Today Chloe didn’t feel like listening to the nagging voice in the back of her head. Before she could even fully grasp what she was doing, she brought the heel of her shoe down against the man’s trachea. Watching what little light slip out of the man’s eyes before mumbling, “Whoops… Now he’s not. I’d- I’d say I’m sorry too, but- I’m sort of tired of apologizing for this part of me. If you still want that drink though, I’m down. And okidokie. No judgement here.”

Alexa smile, practically surprised that Chloe would think this version of her was pretty. “Of course I won’t.” Mainly because she didn’t truly believe that she was pretty this way.  The silver on her wrist practically burning her skin, the painful reminder to be a better person than she actually was at the present. She watched as Chloe put the man out of his misery. Alexa didn’t judge Chloe, just as Chloe hadn’t judged her. “I don’t ever show people this part of me to even really apologize for it. You’re one of the first to see what vampirism has done to me. And sure I’d love that drink. And many more to go with it to be honest.”

He didn’t mind investigating this mystery with her. “Count me in.”

“Damn I didn’t know if that would work, but I am definitely holding you to that. Thanks, I can give you a full 360.” She actually did a spin so he could see her and that dress from all sides. “Well, I’ve been attempting to do a little sleuthing, I had some tips about possible alliance members being at an event, so I went but it was false information. So I take it next time I get a tip and a location, all I have to do is call you?” She asked. “It might get a little dangerous and messy depending on if there’s torture involved.”

“Oh, okay… And No. Not really. I just want to be bitter and angry for a bit?” Chloe admitted, letting out a small melancholic snort at Alexa’s words. “Here,” She said, yanking up one of the thugs who had been moaning on the ground only moments before. Holding his head to the side to give Alexa the perfect view to his neck. “Have at it? But, only if you want to.”

The veins under her eyes were becoming dark and prominent, not looking like herself. Probably looking menacing and as monstrous as ever. “I’m sorry this won’t be pretty.” She moved with quickness, toward the man her fingers touching the blood at his busted lip, bringing her blood coded fingertips. She sighed happily. “Oh God he tastes good.” Her teeth sank into his neck. The blood flooded her mouth and it sent her into a frenzy. She couldn’t get enough of this man’s blood. She felt as though the world around her fell away. In that moment she reached into her back pocket, grabbing a plastic bag. opening it and tossing silver onto her arm. She recoiled instantly in pain, standing and wiping her mouth as the silver stayed on her wrist. “He’s alive,” she said breathing out a sigh of relief. “I’m sorry.” She shook her head. “About that drink, so we can drown our sorrows and be bitter and angry together. Or talk if you’d like. But this silver stays on or I’m killing every one of them.”

“I’m not judging you, Noelani. I’m just upset about this.” Alexa paused at her words. “Is...is that what you really think? Wow. I mean I’m upset because I’m concerned. Because you’re now linked to a hate group. And I want to help, and my protests could actually help you. I mean unless you actually want to be a part of this group?”

“Yes, I’ve talked to Natalia, but she didn’t ask me to come here and check up on you. She told me where I could find you when I asked though. So...want to share? Even though sadly your two friends down there make me remember that I’m also kind of hungry.” 

“Oh look at that. You found me,” Chloe said, slurring her words as she took another swig from the bottle in her hand, not paying any ounce of attention to the beat up thugs laying on the ground beside her. “Did Nat tell you to check up on me or somethin’?” She asked, knowing she hadn’t exactly been handling the past few days too well.
