Something about this day. 

Do you ever get that feeling that reality’s just a little bit off? Like somebody up there has it out for you? Allen was feeling a lot like that. He’s dropped his brand new iphone six, and man- this was the first time he’d left his apartment after SHIELD fell apart. 

He’d only been interning there for a week, now what was he supposed to do? He’d really hoped he’d become an avenger. 

Lost in his momentary gloom, the hopeful superhero’s foot caught against someone else’s and he began to fall. Oh no. “Look out-!” 

Arms outstretched would do nothing to prevent the automatic response of his super awesome mutation from giving away his secret identity- 

At once the magnificence of the amazing third wheel, a tire, would bounce against the brown haired woman’s knee, bounce back, roll, and fall onto its side.

Allen had to think on this for a moment. Okay.. he couldn't be on the Avengers yet. Not until he'd proven himself, which he fully intended on doing. She'd see just how much of a hero he was, and she'd have no choice but to put him on the team!

"I'll take anything. I'll be an intern." he nodded quickly. "I just know that.. I'm gonna do great stuff. I mean, sure, turning into a wheel isn't the most.. common power. But that's what gives me an advantage. I mean, no villain would look at a tire rolling by and think 'I need to destroy that, or it'll end my super evil plans.'" he reasoned.

"I can start interning right away. I'll definitely prove myself, I won't let you down." he promised.

He's retreating! I did it! Thought Allen as he rolled along beside Peter. When they were a safe distance from the scene, Allen slowly shifted back to his human form. "Did you see that? See how I hit the bastard right in the leg? He just chickened out and went to go home." Allen said proudly.

"Another day saved by Third Wheel and Spiderman, eh?" he said, awkwardly bumping Peter's shoulder. "They've gotta put me on the Avengers team soon. Or at least make me an agent, it would be silly not to." he mused. 

"So how are you gonna celebrate our victory? I'm gonna go home.. maybe have some mac n' cheese. Strawberry nesquick. And I'm gonna go to sleep early." he decided.

Allen was rolling along, rolling along.. Electro was paying him no mind. Good. I've got your back, Spiderman. The wheel thought, rolling along without sound. He was so close.. all he had to do was-- bonk! The tire rolled right into the villain's shin, causing him to startle and stop. You're welcome. He thought smugly. Before he was kicked into Spiderman's face.

Ohgodohgodohgod was she talking to him? "I.." don'tpanicdon'tpanicdon'tpanic. Allen rubbed his arm, feeling his skin start to turn to rubber. "SO SORRY, I HAVE TO GO!" He cried, sprinting off to the bathroom. He had to protect his identity. And that meant not allowing himself to feel so afraid in front of people, because that meant changing into a wheel!

Now of all times, too. Huh. Right when a pretty girl started talking to him.. aw man.

Rolling along inconspicuously, no villain would ever see him coming. He was perfect for this job! Perfect for it! If Commander Hill didn't give him a job as an agent.. or Director Fury give him a spot on the Avengers team.. well that would be their loss.

Allen tried not to look too nervous as he sat on the other side of her desk. "I wanted to.. uh.. talk to you. About.. becoming an agent." he said. "Or even.. an Avenger. Commander Hill, you know about my powers.. you know how good I am. I wanted to know.. is this qualification enough? I want to be part of the team. I know I can be a really great help. And nobody would even expect me, I could be like a.. a secret weapon." he said, trying not to fidget too much.
