I see cordy as far from aroace as possible, I love to write her in soft fluffy romance with wes and angel (and maybe a girly date or two with fred) and then I just adore writing her as a dom to wes and fred, and sometimes angel too though I haven't written that yet. Do Spangel Shippers Headcanon Cordelia As Aroace to Free Up Angel to Be With Spike? In General, No, We Really Don't.

Just saw possibly the wildest take I've ever seen: apparently someone out there thinks that us Spangel fans are out there headcanoning/writing Cordelia as aroace just so Angel will be free to be with Spike? Oh, bestie, no.

Let's break this down:

Honestly I have not met very many/any Spangel fans who HC Cordelia as aroace. I don't think I've ever seen aroace!Cordy in a Spangel fic. It's probably out there, but it's by no means common.

I'm a Spangel shipper and I don't headcanon Cordelia as aro or ace (despite being ace-spec and aro-spec myself). I do support the headcanon though because: one, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and two, more aro and/or ace rep is cool!

Yeah, I don't actually like Cordelia/Angel very much (read: at all) (though I'd never shame or judge anyone else for liking it. Ship and let ship.) but to be honest? I like Spangel in the seasons where Cordelia/Cangel is kind of a non issue. But even if I did, I'd probably just pair her off in another ship I like (yes, I have ships for Cordy! Love her with Buffy, Wesley, Gunn, Fred, Willow, Lilah, Faith... lots and lots of Cordy ships!).

Many of the ace and/or aro Cordy fans that I've met are. Cangel shippers. Romantic/platonic/QPR/whatever, they are Cangel fans.

A Spangel shipper might HC Cordy as aroace for various reasons: Maybe they see aroace subtext for her in the show. Maybe they just want more aroace rep. Maybe they do want her out of the way so Spangel can happen! And you know what? That's OK.

So maybe let's not shame people for their ships and/or headcanons, yeah?

So there's the idea of "kitchen table poly," AKA "everyone in the polycule needs to be able to sit at a kitchen table together and get along like friends."

One of my roommates just came up with a counter idea, which is "poker table poly." Everyone in the polycule must be enemies. No one is allowed to get too chummy or they're kicked out. They all also likely owe eachother money.
