Character Meta Changes
As we shortly brushed over in our initial post about Season 16 and its changes, there were quite a few character changes, mainly made to movement legends such as Wraith and Pathfinder. As far as the changes made to these legends, which in the eyes of both us here at theapexfiles and many others in the playerbase were long overdue for these specific legends, the changes made have had an extremely positive effect on gameplay for them. While Wraith's portal ultimate recieved an extension on its length, and Pathfinder recieved faster and longer ziplines for his ultimate, it has made both characters much more mobile and much more viable in both public and competitive game modes. We love both these legends and their changes and are playing them more often in our games as a result of them.

Beacons and New Scanning Methods
As we here at theapexfiles main the legend Crypto, as seen by our profile image, the changes made to beacons and different methods of map scanning as far as enemy position and circle position are very important to us and Crypto as a character. Season 16 reintroduced Survey Beacons as a method of seeing enemy positions all over the map(similar to Cryptos map room on Kings Canyon) instead of as a method to scan the ring, and have been replaced by Ring Consoles instead. In our opinion, this is an amazing change as it allows for Crypto and other recond legends to be more aggresive in their playstyle and for defensive legends who use the Ring Consoles to play more into their intended style of defensive play. We hope this change is here to stay for Apex, but for now thats all! See you later!

Anniverary Year 4 Event!
The 4 year anniversary of Apex happened to roll around on season 16 this year, happy birthday Apex! To commemoratr this, Respawn has released both an anniversary collection event as well as a few map changes to celebrate it. Around every map in the current rotation( Worlds Edge, Broken Moon, Storm Point) giant ballons with cartoon styled legends can be seen around the map which adds a great sense of scenery, and if we're being honest, we wish could be a permanent map change going forward(but we doubt this will come true). As far as the event, however, for the first time in a while we'll be seeing Heirloom shards rather than heirloom or mythic item for the event reward! This means that if players acquire all of the events items they may use those shards to purchase any heirloom of their choice. We think this is an amazing change and hope they do this more often for seasons to come as it allows players to finally have their main legends heirloom to show off in game. Thats it for this post though, see you all!
Linked here is a video detailing the event in its entirety!

The Nemesis AR
As we're now a few weeks into Season 16 our thoughts on the Nemesis AR are a bit more solidified. We, along with many of you have gotten the chance to both use the gun as well as see others opinon on it as well. As far as how we feel about the new burst AR, its become one of our favorites as well as constantly in our gun roation during our games. The damage as well as ease of control for recoil has been great on both console/controller and PC/mouse and keyboard. As far as nerfs or buffs for the gun, we predict that it might get a small nerf due to the pure damage output and TTK of the gun being so fast and it being heavily used by most players in a single lobby. Only time will tell, though, if Respawn will implement these changes. For those who might not have gotten a chance to use the gun in game yet or see its exact burst patterns and damage output, we've attached an example video of this. Thats all though, see you next time!

Apex Legends Season 16 buffs, nerfs, and changes.
Tumblr media
This past February, EA and Respawn released the patch notes detailing all the changes, bug fixes, and buffs/nerfs that will be implented in Season 16: Revelry of Apex Legends. Many had been previously leaked by dataminers prior to the seasons release but a few changes both surprised us as well as made us curious for the season to come. These changes namely being the remastered legend classes, new “Nemesis” weapon, and the absence of a new season legend. As far as the new legend class changes we here at theapexfiles, feel that these changes might provide the necessary meta changes needed to support the game in the absence of the lack of new legends we touched on earlier. The Nemesis AR, however, seems to be a bit of a mystery. While its damage stats portray it performing well, it is still a burst weapon which can have many variables that could alter this. Only time will tell as we play on during this season. Thats about all for our thoughts on Season 16, see you all next time!
