I don’t think any of the forthcoming vaults will recontextualize the album in quite the same way that Red’s vault did. // sorry if this is a dumb question, but how did the vault tracks recontextualize the red album as a whole? Can you please explain what new info we learned from the vault tracks that changed how you viewed the album?

To me particularly All Too Well (10 minute version) adds an immense amount of additional color and context to the relationship/situation described by the rest of the album — two things that immediately come to my sleepy brain in this moment are how the age gap factored into the dynamic and how the relationship went on/off back/forth for longer than it originally seemed (the latter is something that seems really obvious from the original album and associated promo in hindsight but wasn’t, at least to me). Also on a more fundamental level the articulation of how this heartbreak was so unique in that it came when Taylor was on the precipice of adulthood and basically pushed her into the deep end is something that again, in hindsight seems sort of clear from the standard album but did not click for me until hearing the 10MV and seeing the short film - maybe because I’ve lived with the standard since I was 19 myself so seeing it in a fresh way as an adult shed a lot of light to me
