Heres the thing you gotta understand about statistics. 

“Increases your chances by 80%” does not mean “there is now an 80% chance”. 

If your chances were previously 10%, your chances are now 18%, not 90%. 

if your chances were roughly 1%, they’re now just slightly less than 2%.

You know we only ever really "learn" how to bathe in our youth as it is taught to us by our parents and from then on most people kinda just bathe the same way right. And like barring actively deciding to do it the only way most people change their bathing habits is if they bathe with a loved one and get convinced to do somethi g different in the bath bc its cleaner/faster/whatever bc of them. Ok heres the thesis statement. The lack of communal bathing in society is holding us back from discovering The Ultimate Bathing

For those who haven’t heard it yet, this is a recording of the poet Robert browning reading one of his own poems into an Edison cylinder,

I feel the need to share it, not just because it is 135 years old and a monument to human progress that we can even know what this man sounded like, but because browning forgets his own verse halfway through, and decides to simply cheer in joy and wonder at the fact he’s being recorded.

I think we can all relate to this in some way, this recording was likely one of the most important moments of his life, a chance for future generations to know the sound of his voice!

and he fucks it up. Forgetting his lines, and instead of worrying about wasting this chance, he yells with joy at simple pleasure that this moment in his life has been immortalised.
