“This is just the end of the happiness path”
Fernanda R.
Nobody knows what happens when your time is up, I wonder what would become of us if we knew, would it be a weapon or a benefit? But you know, it’s weird because everything is subjective but at the same time it’s not. It is said you came to this world with an unknown purpose and nothing is defined, nothing but death. You don’t know when you’re going to die or how. Humans have invented lots of myths about death, some of them might be right and others might be close.
Humans are curious, you know? Most of their deaths are caused by them, they kill themselves with wars, inventions or words. Most of them never realize they were guilty of their own crimes, they tend to blame god, life or the universe.
They think death is a sad word but I don’t agree, death is just the end of the path. This is why if I were you, I would enjoy every moment smiling and always looking for happiness. Have you ever wondered what does it mean? Just asking, this because usually people get confused with the real meaning of happiness, if you don’t mind I will explain it to you.
Some describe it in various ways, could it be that of taking that gilthead substance that in any instance does not respect norms and even when you try to deform, it still the same and above all things? The search is being done.
Finally, I advise you to live with happiness before I go for you at the end of the path.

Colors life
Natalia Ávila Concha
A01351773
The only thing that I saw when I woke up was nothing, a full black room where I was completely alone.
It’s been 6 year since the last time that I saw my husband and my gorgeous child.
I don’t have a record about the events that has happened after the disaster only that I was stuck on the traffic jam with the storm as I had been driving home after finish the chores in the office. Mila, my daughter called me, she said that she would go to play with her friend Hope that day.
-“Honey, as soon as I arrive home I'll be taking you to her house only if you already finished the homework” I said.
The color of the traffic light had changed, I stepped on the accelerator.
- “Yes mommy, dad says hi, we love you”
One, two, almost three streets and the avenue that I have crossed but I didn’t see the light of the bus that was coming in front of me, the windshield was soaked by the raindrops.
Terrified and sore, my head which had hit the steering wheel was bleeding.
Nevertheless, I heard the sirens and the voice of a man, he said that he had found a 35- year- old woman who was having an internal bleeding and perforated lungs by the broken ribs. The other man said that the woman was hit by the bus, she was thought to have died until that a person saw her moving
1...2...3 she has fallen into respiratory arrest! 1...2...3...  and then a blackout.
It is believed in many theories of how could it be the life after dead. I’m not in the heaven neither the hell although I might be in the space between them, as the waiting room. The only thing that I could think about was if I had the chance of change something, I would?
Internally I answered that I wouldn't have change anything of my life, where I was loved by an incredible husband also my sweet baby whose laugh I miss the most , reminders me how lucky I was until I died

End of the beginning
One moment I was heading towards school and the next one I was being dragged by a pair of emotionless and black-deep eyes to a dark and cold place. A picture that repeats endlessly on my mind evoking me anxiety. I felt as a soft breeze how my soul left my body. I didn't want to overthink it due to the fact that I would know then that it was real and my life had ended in such a cruel and egoistic manner. I was dead, I knew it, I sensed it. However, I could not accept it.
I can vividly recall being freezing and fearing. My hands were trembling. I wanted to scream, fight back. Nonetheless, it was useless. I was gone.
And those myths about seeing your whole life right in front of your eyes when passing away are that, myths. Because I have seen truth. Definitely I had seen those eyes following in the distance, I had felt them caress my silhouette with a perturbing sweetness and I had let it. I hadn’t raise my voice, I hadn’t gazed, and in the end, if I had done something, I would not have been an accomplice of my own death.
Then I realized my life, which was barely starting, was over. He said to me that I was believed to have lived beautifully. With such hurting last words written in my mind, I freed my last breath.

My last day on earth
Ximena’s story
Everything started because one insignificant thing; I was going back to my house after a hard day at work, when I arrived home I realised that I had lost my keys, I was trapped outside and maybe it wasn’t that bad until I remembered that my neighborhood is known to be one of the most dangerous of the city and it didn’t help it  was 3 am in the morning. I was getting scared because I suddenly heard a gun shoot so my window was broken for me in order to get inside, that was probably my biggest mistake.
After getting in my house I went to sleep, finally I would have some rest, what I didn’t know was that it would last forever. I’ve always been a intuitive person so when I heard a strange noise from my kitchen I knew something very bad was going to happen. I went carefully downstairs armed with a baseball bat, my heart was beating so fast I thought that it would come out of  my chest, my hands were shaking and my forehead was covered in sweat.
The first thing I saw it was a man , I was so confused until I realized that a thief broke into my house, I was shocked so he was, no one move, no one talk for a few seconds until I ran away, he was after my  holding a knife. Remember my lost keys? I couldn’t escape due to that, so I ended laying on my floor with a knife stabbed in my stomach. If only I hadn’t lost my keys, I would have survive.

Natalia’s opinion:
The Second World War was one of the biggest catastrophes in the whole history, many people were affected by several problems during the period. Is believed that soldiers who tried to protect their countries serving in the front line had been through the hell of the battles as it’s mentioned in the newspaper.
We should worry about the things that the war left behind and how does it affect the people around, the author said that he could still laugh even when he felt the effect of the war, these are the kind of situations that our veterans have been living after the conflict ended, also the population in general that had lived in the places that the ruthless side of the war touched and only ashes were left where it used to be a home. In fact, it’s complicated trying to comprehend why the human has developed the passion of the war and how he doesn’t even care about the people that he had affected among the struggles despite of having saw the negative results that the war has developed.
I felt the suffering of the person who wrote the article, it reminded me the final scene of the book thief as well, when the bomb exploded and left an injured Rudy laying in the debris of a building, I don't even like to think about how many children like Rudy had died and the families that never will be together again. The history would be different if we could think about our actions before carry them out.

Poppy
For the world is forgetting again.
Why are they selling poppies, Mummy?
Selling poppies in town today.
The poppies, child, are flowers of love.
For the men who marched away.
But why have they chosen a poppy, Mummy?
Why not a beautiful rose?
Because my child, men fought and died
In the fields where the poppies grow.
But why are the poppies so red, Mummy?
Why are the poppies so red?
Red is the colour of blood, my child.
The blood that our soldiers shed.
The heart of the poppy is black, Mummy.
Why does it have to be black?
Black, my child, is the symbol of grief.
For the men who never came back.
But why, Mummy are you crying so?
Your tears are giving you pain.
My tears are my fears for you my child.
Fernanda’s opinion:
When I’m bored or not busy, I like to think, think about how the society works. I have noticed we are simply complicated. We are such an interesting creature but also strange species. I feel like a child trying to explain what’s war but she just doesn’t know how it works, she had contact with it but she doesn’t know how to explain such a terrible act.
Every year thousands of people are killed on our roads, how can we be so calm trying to pretend we are okay when we are killing us each other and feeling proud or just nothing. First, Isn’t conscience what distinguishes us from the animals? Second, why it seems we don’t really use it for important things?
We are so immersed in material things that we tend to forget the real valuable aspects of life. Lennon said that if everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then we would be at peace. He was believed to have been one of the most influential people in young society.
With this poem I could almost touch the sharpness of her words whispering a sad memory. I can feel nothing but compassion and a lot of empathy with the victims of the World War II.
I don’t want to know how painful it was to tell your children their dad wasn’t coming home again or knowing your family will have to pass for inhuman treats just because of the search for power from others.
In conclusion, I wish people would never had to pass through the pain of a war, I really do.

Holocaust
We played, we laughed
we were loved.
We were ripped from the arms of our
parents and thrown into the fire.
We were nothing more than children.
We had a future.
We were going to be doctors, lawyers,
rabbis, wives, teachers, mothers.
We had dreams, then we had no hope.
We were taken away in the dead of night
like cattle in cars, no air to breathe smothering,
crying, starving, dying.
Separated from the world to be no more.
From the ashes, hear our plea.
This atrocity to mankind can not happen again.
Remember us, for we were the children
whose dreams and lives were stolen away.
 - Barbara Sonek
Sheilyn’s opinion:
Notably this poem keeps a maelstrom of emotions and thoughts deep within such as anguish, hope, fear. In addition, this poem gives to readers that chest tightness through its verses and words of how it was to be captive at the Holocaust during World War II, how this horrible happening took away thousands of lives and with them their dreams and future as well. As shown by Barbara Sonek: “We were going to be doctors, lawyers, wives, teachers, mothers. We had dreams, then we had no hope.” Simple shout outs of hope, yet hideous meaning. Furthermore, hope, as the strongest driving force of humanity, was stolen away, turned into ashes in an instant. That was the worst atrocity ever committed. Moreover, it is said war never fails to get the worst of people and Sonek’s poem is another testimony of it. All the attention was directed to this occurrence, however no one truly tried to get to an agreement promptly.
On the whole, this poem was believed to have been the thoughts of those souls meant to be great. The emotions overflows every single word, capturing your attention and make you wonder who the people described might be. And it hits you suddenly. Children who were not able to live.

Ximena’s opinion:
“Changed Landscape” was written by Günter Eich, he was a man that knows how to transmit to us the feelings caused by war. He said that he wrote about the atomic bomb in Japan and so many other events during WW2.
.Reading this poem makes me feel like losing all hopes owing to it talks about sadness and it brings me thoughts about loneliness and death.
I think the author wanted the world to know the consequences of war, not only death and chaos, but loneliness, sadness and other emotions that can make you feel depressed.
While researching about the author,I read that he is believed to have been in an american prison camp in the US in 1945 and at that time he started to write his poems. This may be the reason why this poem talks about sad feelings, since he lived and experienced these emotions and he knows what loneliness and sadness can cause you, specially if you have lost hope.
This poem reminds me sad movies about war, where the main character suffers about death and starving as a result of  war, this kind of movies are very sad, just like this poem that shows you the horrible consequences of war.

The story behind Hero city
Tumblr media
Sometimes the first place is not the best reward, your country could win a math contest or the Olympic games. Nevertheless, flipping the coin you could have won the first place by affecting someone else. The battle of Stalingrad was the longest and bloodiest of modern wars, more than two million troops fought in close quarters. It was a power struggle, just imagine if Germany had won the battle, the world would have been different, but nobody will never know.
Schools teach History because we have to learn about our past but most important our mistakes and try not to fall again. If only we had had one parameter of all the misfortunes that the hunger for power would bring, we wouldn’t have incurred such an act.
In conclusion, we have to realize that murder is not progress. What did we obtain of battles? The recognition of power? For what? What did we have to exchange? A million innocent lives just for the winner title. Damage has been done while adults were playing to be the king of the world when they were just kids on the playground. “The dead are the only ones who see the end of the war.

MEXICO IS SUFFERING WAR TOO
Tumblr media
Mexico and its increasing rage! Since the war started, Mexico declared itself neutral. But surprisingly, Mexico did more than what we had thought after declaring war to the ‘Axis Power’ in 1942; Mexico became a great ally to the ‘Allies’.
After Germany sank two Mexican ships, Mexico was worried aboutt a possible invasion. As a consequence, Mexico sent a document to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Sweden in order to receive a payment for the caused damage from the Axis Power. Owing to, Mexico never received an answer and still, mexican ships were being sunk by the germans, the president of Mexico, Avila Camacho, decided that Mexico wouldn’t sit idly by.
In order to seek peace, Mexico had sent a group of brave men to assist the cause: The Squadron 201. They fought against the japanese in Philippines and won. They were of great help due to the fact that they served as soldiers in recognition missions, air combats, etc. If it weren't for them, the Allies wouldn’t be able to keep up the fight. Therefore, Mexico have been collaborating as any other.
To sum up, even though we wish they would stop the bloodshed, we shall stand firm until the very end, and keep wondering “if only war stopped”.
