DISCLAIMER: I am not actually back! For a number of reasons, I feel one step removed from the community in a way that I think makes my input not very helpful, and to be honest, I don’t have the extra spoons for active blogging these days. However, if anyone wants to get in touch with me, hit up my cousin @hashbrowncatsandketchup for my discord handle.
But. I logged back in for a moment to look over some old asks for reference, and found a dm from months ago asking if I have the LAGG translations for Heru-wer. As it happens, I do. I saved the PDF long before wepwawetwiki went under, and I’m uploading and linking it for you guys now because it’s too useful a resource to hoard.
DROPBOX LINK
I hope that’s helpful to at least one of you. Thank you guys for all the good memories and excellent resources, and I wish you all the best!
Seek, over & out.

Egyptian Color Meaning and Symbolism
The Basic Colors:
Green — Wadj. A pigment used from Prehistory. Associated with the Nile, the Mediterranean Sea, and vegetation. Represents fertility and rebirth. This color is strongly associated with the Gods Osiris, Ptah, and Wadj-Wer, though not limited to Them.
Red — Dešr. A pigment from Prehistory. It tends to include the colors yellow and orange. Associated with the desert, blood, war, fire, and the sun. Represents life-giving properties, protection, aggression, etc. This color is strongly associated with the Gods Set, Ra, Aset, and Sekhmet, though not limited to Them.
Black — Kem. A pigment used since Prehistory. Associated with the dark silt of the Nile Valley (hence Kemet, “Black Land”), darkness (absence of light, not evil), and the Underworld. Represents fertility and rebirth, as well as the primordial state. This color is strongly associated with the Gods Min, Yinepu (Anubis), and Osiris, though not limited to Them.
White — Hedj. Like the aforementioned colors, it was a pigment that had been used since Prehistory. Associated with light (of the sun and moon; silver is also described as “white”) and purity. This was the color of the clothing of ritual specialists, and of white calcite stone (limestone) used in temple architecture.
Blue — Khesbedj. Unlike the previous colors listed, there was/is no Old Egyptian term for this color specifically. Indeed, blue pigment had not been discovered until around 2550 BCE. This blue pigment was produced by grinding lapis lazuli stone (khesbedj, for which the color was later named) into a fine powder. Blue was thus not part of the original system of color symbolism, though it would grow to become the most prestigious paint color — largely because it was, initially, quite rare and expensive to produce. This rich blue color is associated with the night sky — “The Vault of the Heavens” — and the primordial waters. It represents royalty, mysteriousness, ethereal qualities, and rebirth. As mentioned previously, this color is strongly associated with the God Amun, as well as the Goddess Nut, though not limited to Them.

Fun, Casual, and Modern Ways to Bond With Gods and Goddesses
Ones I have found work well for me;
Ask Them if you can give Them fun nicknames–They might like that! (Osiris likes it when I call him “X-tra Chill Dad” and Inari “Fox Mapa", a combination of “mama” and “papa”)
Sit at your altar and tell Them about things you like–gush about your favourite TV show. Yes, They will find it interesting! (Especially works for motherly goddesses like Hathor and Isis, and laid-back gods like Thoth)
Non-perishable things that you use often make fantastic offerings, if it’s relevant to Their domains. For example, if you worship a god/dess of healing, your Grey’s Anatomy DVDs will be a good offering
Binge-watch something relevant to Their domains and invite Them to watch it with you. (Be sure to leave a space on your couch or bed for Them) For example, Set will probably enjoy that action movie you like so much.
Draw Their symbols on things and let Them know you did it for Them. I personally like to draw ankhs for Isis with my cleaner when I’m at work.
Give a charm to Them as an offering, or otherwise dedicate it, then put this charm on something you always carry around, such as your keys or your wallet.
When you go shopping for fun, ask Them if they like anything you’re looking at–especially works well if you’re shopping for altar components or components for an offering.
Talk to Them about their relationships with other deities, even ones from other pantheons/religions. You like talking about your friends, don’t you?
Build a playlist of music devoted to a specific deity. They will love it!
If you get depressed or anxious, sit at your altar (or near it) and ask for Their presence.
Build a portable altar to a deity of your choice and carry around it with you.
If you’re a closet witch, talk about the mythology behind your deities to those around you if they find it interesting. Just say you like the myths and think they’re cool.
I work almost exclusively with the Kemetic pantheon(Inari is the exception), but you can apply them to any other pantheon!

IT’S LIVE! I have launched the #kickstarter for the #lokean devotional book.
Please excuse me while I scream and otherwise freak out. In the meantime, maybe consider backing the project or helping to spread the word? https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/185088098/on-the-tightrope-a-loki-devotional

Common Kemetic Terms 🌾
I’ve decided to put together a quick glossary of terms for newbies to the kemetic community. I hope this helps you! Feel free to add your own, too. Em Hotep - this is a welcoming greeting that roughly translates into “in peace.” Netjer - the Egyptian word for God. There is also Netjeru, for Gods. Along with this, there is also Dua, which is an invocation. Dua Netjer / Dua [Diety Name] is a common way to use this. Senebty - used as a farewell, akin to goodbye. Heka - the Egyptian word for magic. Heka is a sort of divine energy that is all around us, and is a gift from the Gods. Ma’at - one of the hardest words to explain. It has no singular meaning, but is a combination of words such as harmony, balance, truth, and justice. Ma’at is “the right way” of living for kemetic followers. Confusingly, Ma’at is also the name of a goddess. You can read more about her here.

How to I start reconnecting with a Diety after taking a break from it. I use to worship Wesir quite heavily and suddenly stopped because I become extremely depressed,, I feel extremely bad but I want to start up with him again. Do you have any tips on doing so?
Here is the stack from the FAQ to get this party going.
What do I do when I’ve fallen out of practice?
Dealing with Inadequacy (KRT)
How do you survive fallow time? (KRT)
How do I get back into Kemeticism?
Purifying Away Guilt
When the Well Runs Dry
Beyond that, I would say that the TL;DR is to do whatever you feel to begin with. Start simple and start in places that you have the most desire to do so. In my experience when you’re dragging yourself back into practice, its best to go with whatever makes you the most pumped to do so. The more successes you can have early on, the more likely you are to get back fully into practice, and the more likely you are to continue with it.
In regards to O specifically, I’d tell you to get some nice offerings, do a rite for him and tell him where you’re at. Let him know why you fell off, your feelings on it, and apologize for doing so (if you feel its appropriate.) I usually tell people to ask the deity for feedback in whatever form gets through to you. F’ex, to find a way to make sure that O is okay with you starting up practice again, to learn if he wants you to do anything, or has any messages for you regarding your falling off the wagon.
I usually tell people to ask for this stuff because I feel like many times the gods are like “lol its all good I’m not mad” and it can often help to assuage the practitioner’s fears. And even if the deity isn’t 100% okay, at least it gives you a structure to get back into their good graces, and provides information on how to best go about getting back into practice as per their needs/requirements.
But, uh, yeah, that’s my general advice for getting back on the wagon. Even if you feel bad, remember that we all have periods of fallow time, we all have periods where we just can’t make the time to practice how we’d like. Gods get this, and its why it was a job in antiquity to maintain their cult. And even those who held that job had lots of other people helping them with it. The NTRW seem to get that we are all doing our best, and tend to not be jerks about us disappearing for periods of time.
So no time like the present to get back to it :>
