At first, he simply stares at the boy standing atop the mechanism, but his actions are too slow, too sloppy for proper battle, and he’s sure that the other has noticed by now. That “spark” was still there, but it was more self depreciating than anything else.
“ Hey. Simon, I think, can you do me a favor? ”
“ Can you just... fuck me up? I don’t even have the willpower to fight anymore. So, yeah, sorry I guess? Fuck it man, just fuck up me up in the worst way you can think of, because I can’t fight like this. I didn’t even mean to start this shit in the first place. But no, what else am I supposed to do other than fuck up everything I do with my big mouth. It’s a damn miracle that you still have-- well, no, I insulted you and called you a gr--child. So yeah, use your fighting spirit or whatever the fuck and just swat that thing at me. ”
Karkat puts his weapon away in the blink of an eye, even sitting down and looking directly at the cockpit, waiting. What was he waiting for? It’s painstakingly obvious what.
He stops, and stands, theres no point in attacking someone who can’t fight back, so he waits. His own pride as a warrior shows as he opens Laganns helmet, then the canopy, revealing his face to the other.
“Come on, Where’s all that big talk? You said you were gonna teach me a lesson right? Well I’m WAITING! Who the hell do you think I am?!” he taunts, reaching a hand up and extending one finger to the sky.
"I can see it on your face right now, All the way from up here, That fire in your eyes that screams for battle- Show me that fighting spirit!! If you can make it up here to my cockpit, You win this little match, how’s that sound?!” he declares, waiting for Karkat’s answer before sitting back down in the cockpit.
