KURT TRAVIS TO RELEASE
SELF-TITLED EP ON MARCH 12
PHYSICAL PRE-ORDERS
NOW AVAILABLE
A Lot Like Birds’ vocalist Kurt Travis will release a new, self-titled EP on March 12 via Equal Vision Records.
The latest issue of Alternative Press offers a full page feature on A Lot Like Birds, marking them as one of the “100 Bands You Need to Know in 2013”. The issue is out now and available HERE. This will be Travis’ second solo release, following a previous EP entitled Wha Happen? through Doghouse Records in January 2012. Physical pre-orders for the new album are available now through his MerchNOW store, with iTunes digital pre-orders set to launch next week.
The Sacramento, CA-based band features duel vocalists, Cory Lockwood and Kurt Travis, who seamlessly intertwine, layer and harmonize, while interchanging singing, screaming and spoken word duties. Guiding the melodies along with the alternating of intricate riffs and airy, ambient wails are guitarists Michael Franzino and Ben Wiacek, as well as the flowing rhythms of bassist Michael “Butter” Littlefield and drummer Joe Arrington.
A Lot Like Birds has been writing intensely over the past year for their forthcoming Equal Vision release, and will return to Portland, OR in May 2013 to record their next full-length album with producer Kris Crummett [Closure In Moscow, Fear Before], with whom the band also recorded their previous release, Conversation Piece.
A Lot Like Birds is currently on a European headlining tour with support from Violet. Soon after their return to the States, Travis will begin a US tour as direct support to Jonny Craig, which will stop at several festivals along the way, including SXSW, NeverSayNever Fest and SouthBySoWhat?!

“Being a physicist, not a physician, I don’t usually comment on issues in medical science,” Schwarz wrote in his editorial. “But I can no longer remain silent while people in my family and profession run the risk of federal arrest so that they can follow the recommendations of their doctors.”
