Elysian Superfuzz Blood Orange Pale Brewery: Elysian Brewing Company Location: Seattle, WA Style: Pale Ale ABV: 6.4% IBU: 45 Serving: 12oz Bottle Tasting Notes: Superfuzz pours a beautiful, hazy, golden/orange color. Nice full-flavor of blood orange, without feeling like you’ve eaten one. Flavor doesn’t linger, but you enjoy it during the entire swallow. Leaves the mouth feeling like you’ve sipped an I.P.A. without that hoppy, bitter aftertaste. Easily drinkable for any occasion, and would be a great beer for the beach or the upcoming summer heat. Also, a great choice for anyone wanting to venture into the world of pales but aren’t ready to take on heavy IBUs. Rating: 4/5

Left Coast Hop Juice
Brewery: Left Coast Brewing Company
Location: San Clemente, CA
Style: Triple IPA
ABV: 10.0%
IBU:  100
Serving Style:  12oz Bottle
 Tasting Notes
Clocking in at 10% and 100ibu, this beast is as malty, as it is hoppy. Using two different malts (American 2-Row and Crystal), the initial flavor is full and robust with a delicious aroma. The beer finishes with a crisp, bitter bite, from the three primary hops (Cascade, Columbus and Mt. Hood) and then dry hopped with three more (Mosaic, Simcoe, and Columbus). Raising the glass to the nose, it gives a rich bouquet, making the drinker desire to take a full swig. Taking a sip of Hop Juice, it does a full, all over coating of the mouth allowing all the taste buds to be treated with the satisfying flavor. At 10%, it would be expected to have a strong, boozy flavor, but the brewers did a great job balancing the alcohol punch, a truly dangerous combo.
Overall, Hop Juice has a very rich, complex flavor, guaranteed to satisfy hop heads and those unsure about and wanting to try a triple IPA.

Crooked Can High Stepper
Brewery: Crooked Can Brewing Company
Location: Winter Garden, FL
Style: American IPA
ABV: 7.0%
IBU: 100
Serving Style: Can
With a deep amber color and a rich, piney aroma, the High Stepper gives hop heads a great choice for both: hop lovers and those seeking something relatively light drinking. For a beer pulling in 100 IBUs, its thin body gives some relief to the full, hoppy flavors. High Stepper won’t make the drinker pucker, but gives instant dry-mouth. Very strong hop-forward and piney flavors, but lacks any other additives, giving this beer traditional IPA expectations. Also, a great choice for those consumers that enjoy an APA, but want to start trying stronger, more bitter beers, without having their tongue shriveled.
Crooked Can is a treasure in West Orange County and is constantly trying new recipes, while keeping a handful of “flagship” beers on tap. Any brew hoppers visiting or living in Central Florida should travel to Winter Garden and enjoy a few libations.
