Before Biden dropped out of the race, I was one of those people that were thinking about skipping voting. Not anymore. I saw a post talking about this topic and they brought up the analogy of putting the oxygen mask on your face before helping someone else and I thought that was simple profound. A great analogy, for sure.
To anyone considering not voting because of the Palestinian genocide, I have this to ask:
How many Palestinian people do you think you're helping by laying back and inviting the GOP to crush you under foot? Self flagellation didn't cure The Plague, and it won't fix this situation either.
If you don't like the idea of voting for Harris, I doubt I'll be able to change your mind, but consider this: 468 congressional seats out of a total 535 are up for re-election THIS NOVEMBER. You want to make the government start actually representing the will of the people? Start there.
We're living in frightening times, and apathy is a very comfortable state of being, but you need to act. If you don't, who will?
More trans people need to realize that the majority of y'all are just as uneducated and bigoted against intersex people as your average cishet centrist.
That kind of pisses me off that that happened to you! I’m not physically disabled in that way, but I don’t think that’s OK. If anything there should be a designated area for people who have wheelchairs or mobility aids.
disabled people should be allowed to make their own decisions and not be barred from doing things that have the potential to harm them.
I don't care if you say its "for my safety." You don't know me, I am a far better judge of that. I should be allowed anywhere in my wheelchair, there should be No bans on wheelchairs in any public venues or spaces.
I've been turned away from two concerts this summer because I'm using a wheelchair. There is no other group of people being disallowed into these spaces. I dont give a fuck about the excuses they give me, banning a single group of people from something is discrimination.
i need to make a shoutout post for the ioway tribe's bee farm products right now
esp this:
THE LOTION BAR.
why do i love it so much? bc it repels mosquitos WAY BETTER THAN BUG SPRAY. Not only does it make ur skin smell like honey, it forms a waxy seal that buggy chompers cant bite through.
it also soothes bug bites, rashes, and itchy skin.
my partner has the Yummy Blood that mosquitos find irresistable. we tried so many repellents, the wristbands, the candles... nothing seemed to keep them away. out of curiosity and desperation, we tried this lotion bar and the results have been life-changing for us. it is EXCEPTIONAL.
if u or someone u know is bug bait, i cannot recommend this tribe's beeswax bar enough. please support native businesses, ditch the bug spray. this stuff works, and smells, way way way better than anything else.
Master doc that contains different resources and support for many countries including Palestine, Congo, Haiti, Hawai’i, etc ((the creator is underneath the link))
