SR Inktober Day4: Chilly Weather

When Adorabeezle and Jubileena first started hanging out, Adorabeezle was surprised to find that Jubileena didn’t seem to care about the cold weather that she would normally chill in. The red racer seemed perfectly happy to shiver in the frigid ice cream mountains and iced caves, as long as she was playing with her new friend and doing all the things that the blue racer did for fun. She even taught Adorabeezle how to use the mint chip ice cream to build what she calls ‘snowracers’. Even so, Adorabeezle decided to lend Jubi a spare pair of mittens to keep her fingers from freezing. Jubi felt very lucky to have a friend was programmed to own things in blue and red!

SR Inktober Day 2: Power Off

“Enough tube-goggling, soldiers! Your Random Roster starts at 2100 hours sharp!” shouted Calhoun. “I want to see tiny boots stomping to the starting line this instant! There are sugary karts that need bodies warming them A-S-A-NOW!”

But the racers were too busy watching Wheel of Fortune on Felix’s TV to hear. Maybe this week, there would be some actual racing on the show with a kart built with that lucky wheel as advertised in the title.

But as always, Calhoun demonstrates that she holds the power. In this case, the power button on the remote.

SR Inktober Day 1: Nostalgia

Another October in the Wreck-It Ralph community means another launching of Sugar Rush Inktober hosted by my fellow artist and friend @dorkaarts. Find the official prompts here on her page here:

You know the drill. For the next 31 days, art will be published following a designated prompt of the day. Search up the hashtag #sugarrushinktober2024 to see all the art posted for this event! I won’t tackle all 31 prompts, so who knows which day gets done or not? Well, I do. But I’m not telling! But I can guarantee my usual madness and twisting of the prompts with whichever one I do. Like Day 1 here!

Day 1: Nostalgia

Have you ever noticed that ‘Nostalgia’ and ‘Nougetsia’ share the same first 2 and last 2 letters? Well, now you do. From what I’ve seen over the years in the Wreck-It Ralph fandom, this girl is an interesting case. Firstly, it’s rare for anyone to think of the Palette-Swaps. After passing that obstacle, unless she’s your favourite character, Nougetsia is the last racer anyone really thinks about. Secondly, her portrayal in the fandom always seems to be different while the other 3 have pretty much received agreed-upon personalities from the fans: Sticky is shy and timid, Torvald is more brash, Citrusella is cool and outgoing. Those aren’t everyone’s portrayal of them, but it’s the majority. Yet, Nougetsia seems to be the wildcard. She doesn’t have a portrayal that the majority has settled with. Some folks headcanon her as the weak and unlucky one, while others see her as braver and more daring than her twin. Digging through past artwork and fan theories over the years has made me feel rather nostalgic for the days when the world was as WiR-crazy as I am now.

I've developed a lot for most of the racers, yet Nougetsia is still a blank slate in my content. I’ve deliberately been holding her off until I’m ready to really explore her. I’ve rarely drawn her and have you noticed that in all the times she appears in my fanfics thus far, she is the only racer who has never spoken a single word? Don’t worry…this is very intentional and is set to change soon. But for now, say hello to Nougetsia Brumblestain! But not too loudly, please. She doesn’t like attention.
