THE HUNGER GAMES REAPINGS

Suzanne Collin’s just said fuck you to everyone who’s ever critiqued the Hunger Games as being a “teen girl saves the day” story. She said oh, Mockingjay didn’t make it clear enough? Here’s a book about how people have been rebelling for decades only to have their efforts suppressed and propagandized. Rebellion takes time and it takes failure and Katniss may have been the spark that ignited the wildfire but she did so standing atop the doused flames of everyone who came before her.

Update: I would just like to say, front row of Richmond may have been my favourite place I have seen the show from.
As side views go, this one had no restrictions unlike Flushing (and the Bronx). Being front row, we also had a lot of the cast interact with us and it was so chaotic as sometimes they would literally slide off the stage right in front of me.
I also had a newspaper thrown directly in my face by Race so viciously it felt personal lol and I was like my dude I'm not the enemy I support your strike.
what was the view like where you sat for newsies? I'd like to get seats for that section but I've seen people saying there's restricted view around there !
Hello @aqueous-aerolite! Sorry not sure which section you are talking about.
I sat in Brooklyn row K for the first preview. It's a perfect view of most of the action and you'll get to see the choreography head on. As some things happen on the walkway between Brooklyn and Manhattan, you may miss some things there or have to turn around to see but overall you see every main thing. And also... you kinda feel the vibrations in your seat when actors are running across there so you know when to turn around. You'll feel the earthquake haha! I've only sat in the back of this section so I'm not sure if you can still see the walkway down the front of Brooklyn.
I sat in Flushing on the aisle third row for press night. It's still a great view but you might miss some things that happen at the top of the towers (namely 'Something to Believe In' is where I noticed it the most) and also you don't get the best view to see the choreography as a whole. But obviously they do play to the entire theatre so it's still a great view. And being in the side sections you have the Newsies running next to you a lot of the time which is pretty exciting. There'll be a walk way behind both of the side sections but not a lot happens here. If you want to sit in the front side sections I personally think maybe The Bronx on the other side might be the better view of these two? But I haven't sat there.
Both seats I've been in had their pros and cons, and I guess it depends what you want out of your experience, especially if you're only getting to go one time.
If you want to see everything I would say the best seats would be near the front of Manhattan. I haven't sat here but I think the cons of these seats may be that you don't feel as immersed as others where the Newsies are running all over the place around you.
Brooklyn is the best seats to feel close and immersed with a perfect head on view. If you can get an aisle seat in this section that would be the best in my opinion because they'll be running past you up and down the stairs.
The side sections Woodside, Richmond, The Bronx and Flushing are great if you want to feel up close and personal. I have seen the actors interacting with people in these sections (trying to sell papes, crutchie giving his crutch to one of them to hold at one point whilst he climbed down some stairs etc) and you get to hear some sometimes wild ad libbing. The very front side sections will have some slight restrictions, as I mentioned above. I'm unusre about Richmond and Woodside as I haven't sat there yet. But this crazy girl is going back on Tuesday in Richmond in the front row on an aisle seat so can report back about any restrictions here!
So I guess it depends how close you want to be, how much interaction you maybe wanna have, or the kind of view you are interested in.
P.S. if you wanna catch a newspaper, the best places to be are of course the front row in any section (but Manhattan), and also aisle seats in these sections. If you don't catch one during the show, you might be able to get up at the interval quickly and get one if you're on an aisle (sometimes the stage hands have been giving them out if you go up and ask them). And also the side sections during 'Once and For All' as well as aisle seats at the back of Brooklyn are good spots to try and get a Newsies Banner paper.
I hope this helps!
