Follow Pudding the panda who lives at Edinburgh Zoo, whose heroine is Mary Poppins and who would love nothing more than to have her own family to care for. Meanwhile, Callum is having a hard time at home; his parents keep arguing, his sister is annoying and to top it off, he gets a certificate to adopt a panda for his ninth birthday, when all he wanted was Lego. We are knights and castle mad here, especially my 6yr old! So when this book arrived, we were very excited to read it. The Castle The King Built Written by Rebecca Colby Illustrated by @mrtomfroese Published by @nosycrow in collaboration with @nationaltrust We loved the illustrations and the flow of the rhyming text, as the book introduced the different jobs that people would have within a castle in medieval times, such as masons, carpenters, bakers and minstrels. This book couldn’t have arrived at a better time; I have a fussy eater and I am so sick of preparing beige food!! Which Food Will You Choose? Written by Claire Potter, author of Getting the Little Blighters to Eat Illustrated by @ailie_busby Published by @bloomsburychildrens This book aims to encourage children to be open-minded and develop an adventurous attitude towards food. The author suggests reading the story before playing the game in real life at the supermarket. There’s also some great advice at the end to help parents with their fussy eaters. It’s colourful, fun and I love the illustrated foods as well as the ideas the children in the story get up to. I’m definitely going to be trying this with my fussy 3 year old! So I may have shred a tear over reading this lovely book.. Love By @corrinneaveriss Illustrated by @kirstibeautyman Published by @quartokids A lovely book for young children starting nursery or school, or who may suffer with separation anxiety. Love will help remind them that they are still loved even when they are away from home or even when a family member may have passed away, love doesn’t disappear. A beautiful heart-warming story.
