Edison Guinness has essentially made himself a professional student and researcher. The only child of a very well off family, he spent most of his childhood being seen and not heard. He preferred to do that in the family library.

Disowning him would have drawn talk, unwanted attention. It's much better to just pay to keep him out of the way and still be able to haughtily say that he's getting another prestigious degree. Now he's part of a ground breaking flight through space. Luckily for him, lost in space with your ex wife is a pretty good way to make sure he'll never get bored!

RUN DOWN: Ex-military who ruffled a lot of feathers when she chose ARCo. over her comrades after the war. Though she did nothing to dissuade the accusations, it wasn’t the money. It was the quiet of space, a change in scenery, but mostly, it was for her own damn peace of mind. Studied mechanical engineering and operated as a flight engineer for the military up until her voluntary discharge. In the hands of ARCo., she was a new acquisition trained for future space missions, and it’s only with her feet off the ground that she can’t hear the rattle of humanity at its worst.
