🔮BANISHING VS WARDING🔮
(what really is the difference?)
✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿
Tumblr media Tumblr media
✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿 ✨🧿✨🧿
BANISHING
Banishing is far more specific and direct than warding.
✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿 ✨🧿✨🧿
WHY IS IT USED?
Banishing is used to get rid of a particulur energy, spirit, or person. Think carefully before banishing, as it's a strong form of defensive magic.
✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿✨🧿 ✨🧿✨🧿
BANISHING METHODS
USE THE ELEMENTS
burn a slip of paper with your target's name on it
throw a leaf with your target's name on it into a running river/stream
burn corresponding herbs and pass the smoke through your space
CANDLES
anoint your candle with corresponding herbs and oils, then burn it
when the candle has burnt out. the banishing is complete
SIGILS
make your own banishing sigil find one that resonates with you
place it in the space or on the item you are banishing energy from
HERBS + TINCTURES
use herbal smoke to force energy out of a space or object
make a spray or herbal tineture to sprinkle around your home
FOLLOW YOUR INTUITION
use the method that calls to you
never use a method that feels wrong or that you haven't researched thoroughly

🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮
WARDING
Warding is a gentler form of defensive magic that is used in a more general sense.
🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮
WHY IS IT USED?
Warding is used to protect and guard from negative energies of any kind - it redirects energy away from you or your space.
🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮✨🔮
WARDING METHODS
VISUALIZATION
use your intention and energy to visualize a powerful barrier of protecting light around yourself or your space for more info on ENERGETIC PROTECTION click HERE
GUARDIANS
create a guardian to guard your home or space from negative energies
use a small object, enchant it with your intention, and keep it in a safe, permanent place
CRYSTALS
corresponding crystals can be worn as jewelry to protect against negative energy
placing erystals in a room or around you house will create a protective barrier
SALT
black salt can be ured in banishing rituals or used alone
sprinkle salt around your door and windows or make protection jars
HERBS
burn protective herbs and pass the smoke through your space or tools
sprinkle herbal oils and tinctures on yourself and your space for protective barriers
FOLLOW YOUR INTUITION
use the method that calls to you
never use a method that feels wrong or that you haven't researched thoroughly

A Short Guide to Pyromancy
The generic practice of reading fire is called pyromancy.
We can break a candle reading session down to 3 main parts:
Observation (flame watching)
Gathering and Understanding (decoding fire’s messages)
Final Question and Goodbye (ask if there’s anything else you should know before leaving, thank and salute fire salamanders)
During the observation phase, watch for:
Length of the flame for 1 to 2 minutes to know WHEN, the timing, PAST
Shape of the flame for 2 to 3 minutes to know WHAT-the actual matter is, the PRESENT
Direction and Behavior of the flame for 3 to 4 minutes to know HOW, the true nature of it hints at the FUTURE (see where the fire is pointing to know what type of matter it is, concentrate on the opposite direction telling you how to counteract to solve or banish whatever it might be; it also indicates what elemental energy is strongly supporting/protecting you in taking action as well as in related spell work)
Presence/Absence of Smoke for 2 to 3 minutes to understand the SOURCE of your awareness *****Keep a compass handy!*****
Salamanders fire will try to communicate with you as soon as you light the fire/candle so pay attention from the very beginning.
Fire energy is impulsive, blunt, active, carefree and wild.
This type of divination detects negativity effectively because it easily speaks the brutally honest truth regardless of how you feel or what’s happening. It brings up issues that we refuse to deal with. Again, it’s pure blunt energy.
Because of its wild nature, fire will also charge us with optimism and explosive determination to overcome problems and bad news: typically after pyromancy we feel motivated and “ready to go”.
Length
Long, Extra Long: Something has been bothering you for a very long time now (trust your intuition, probably for years) which you never actively faced, You’ve been quiet for too long, Unsolved problems from the past are challenging your patience, Relevant stuff that had to be cleared much earlier
Medium: Something that has been lurking in the back of your mind for 1-3 months, Aplan or an idea that could change/shake your life but is not currently a priority to you, It might be something you heard from another person or a vague thought
Short: Something intense that happened within the last couple days, Avery recent thing is bothering you and has almost caught you by surprise, Unexpected news from day to day, Anew sudden event that physically or emotionally shook you
Shape
Double: Two things that were generated consequentially or have a common link, Two entities/people united by a common theme.
Super-thin Line: Something you felt or suspected but never had proof of evidence about, A subtle suspicion, A doubt, An insinuation, A sneaky or secretive individual
Regular: Something/someone that you accept and is part of your routine, Your own mindset, Something very close and not disturbing, A solid milestone in your daily life
Round: One thing in particular that constantly “fills you up”, Makes you feel complete, Full, Exploding or either extremely delighted, Aperson who represses/suppresses you, Someone ghosting you on purpose just to humble you or to make you feel lesser
Behavior
Steady: Things are happening in the background, far from the “public eye” and without you even realizing. You and people around you are calm, clueless, peaceful and the surroundings seem safe. Good vibes are in the air but definitely keep your eyes open and intuition awake.
Shaky, Wiggly: Things are visibly happening before your eyes, making you confused, uneasy or giving you mood swings andanxiety. You are able to feel bad vibes around you. Take control of the situation and protect yourself.
Weak, Petite, Almost Extinguished: Someone is now annihilating you before the eyes of everybody, but still no one defends you. Seek help in others. Protect yourself and take action to win this ripe, suffered battle.
Directions
EAST | AIR: Communication, Mindset, Mental/Spoken/Written Things, Logical Reasoning, Ideas, Plans, Spring, Morning, Sunrise, Masculine
WEST | WATER: Emotions, Unconscious, Gut Feelings, Passivity, Illogical Reasoning, Intangibility, Blue, Flow, Moisture, Fall, Sunset, Feminine
SOUTH |FIRE: Action, Guidance, Strength, Activity, Blood, Warmth, Creativity, Masculine, Red, Impulse, Summer, Noon
NORTH | EARTH; Stability, Firmness, Art, Finance, Grounding, Material Things, Tangibility, Stillness, Death, Birth, Winter, Midnight, Green
(ALL YOUR PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE about the elements and how they can be interpreted, what meanings they have in our lives and their specific correspondences)
Smoke
Absence: You are the source of awareness. Your body and soul have sent you signals about matter.
Presence: Someone else enlightened you with their words and made you fully aware of matter. Something popped up as an obvious proof that you weren’t expecting to find. This has awakened your inquisitive mind and led it to this reading.

Types of divination: 7. Pyromancy
Tumblr media
Pyromancy or pyroscopy is the art of divination by means of fire. The diviner observes flames, from a sacrificial fire, a candle, or another source of flame, and interprets the shapes that he or she sees within them. Pyromancy was one of the earlier forms of divination.
Fire was considered to be the most spiritual of the elements, not only because of its light giving quality, but because the use of fire is one of the things which most markedly distinguishes man from the beasts. Dancing around a ritual bonfire may well be mans most primitive ceremony. Seeing pictures in the fire was one of his earliest sources of clairvoyant vision, when the tribal groups huddled together in the darkness of the caves.
Candlemancy is divination using a candle.
If the flame waves, hisses, shrinks, spins, widdershins, or left to right like I'm shaking my head no, or goes out it means no to your question. These are negative responses.
If the flame grows tall, stays calm, moves back and forward like I'm nodding yes or spins desolate, it means yes to your question.

The Ultimate Witches Guide to Herb Drying
Tumblr media
As all witches know, herbs are a vital part of the craft. I am so lucky to be blessed with a large garden, and me and my husband grow an abundance of herbs for both magickal and culinary purposes. I have been drying my own herbs for years, and keep my cupboard well stocked! For me, drying my own herbs has yielded so much benefits, such as:
• It works out so much cheaper then buying from the grocery store.
• Its so much better for the environment. Think about the packaging that herbs come in when you buy from the grocery store that gets thrown away! We store our herbs in labelled glass jars, and the process is absolutely zero-waste.
• Its a lot of fun! I absolutely adore the entire process, it feels very earthy, witchy and it is so rewarding to produce commonly bought things yourself!
Currently, my inventory of dried herbs that I have prepared myself is as follows: Basil, thyme, parsley, coriander/cilantro, rosemary, oregano, sage, dill, lavender, tarragon, chamomile, peppermint, lemonbalm and many more. I use these dried herbs for teas and infusions, cooking and witchcraft. I also keep a fair amount of these herbs for using fresh!
Does this sound like something that appeals to you? If you have the space for a herb garden, it is definitely achievable, even if it is just on a balcony or windowsill!
How To:
Harvesting: the best time to harvest herbs is when they have plenty of healthy foliage to allow further growth. Regularly snipping actually allows herbs to thrive and encourages new growth! To keep my herbs healthy, I regularly snip off dead leaves and harvest healthy, abundant foliage while leaving enough to spare for the plant. The absolute BEST time to harvest is early in the morning after the dew evaporates, but before the suns rays start to evaporate the essential oils within the leaves, which happens when exposed to heat throughout the day. Use scissors to cleanly snip the foliage off the plant.
• Drying: After harvesting, it is important to dry herbs quickly to preserve flavor. After washing herbs, make sure to pat dry gently, you don’t want any moisture in preparation for air drying. To air dry it is very simple! Tie an elastic or piece of string around the base of the herbs to create a bundle. Then you want to hang them upside down in a warm, dry and dust free area out of direct sunlight. I use a drying rack and peg the herbs upside down and then hang the drying rack up, however you can use a clothes hanger or hang them on a line! Some people like to wrap a brown paper bag around the herb bundles when drying. This a) stops leaves falling onto the ground when dry and crumbly, and b) keeps them from gathering dust, etc.
You will know your herbs are dry when they feel dry and crumbly in texture.
Storing: After my herbs are dry and brittle to the touch, I separate the leaves from the stems and store in clean, airtight glass jars that are labelled so I know which herb goes where. I keep the leaves while and crumble just before cooking, as I believe this helps to retain flavor, but I know some people will crumble dried herbs with a mortar and pestle before storing. Keep your dried herbs in a cool, dark place away from humidity, and enjoy! 🌿

WHAT IS GROUNDING?
Grounding is a set of simple strategies to  detach from emotional pain for example (cravings, self harm urges, emotional eating behaviour etc.) Grounding can also be a way of returning your attention to the outside world and away from yourself. In the case of dissociation.
WHY PRACTICE GROUNDING TECHNIQUES?
When you are overwhelmed with emotional pain, you need a way to detach so that you can gain control over your feelings and stay safe. As long as you are grounding, you are more likely to be able to overcome urges. Grounding ‘anchors’ you to reality.
Many people with PTSD and dissociative disorders struggle with either feeling too much (overwhelming emotions and memories) or too little (numbing and dissociation). In grounding, you attain balance between the two—conscious of reality and ability to tolerate it.
GUIDELINES:
Grounding can be done any time, anywhere and no one has to know.
Use grounding when you are: faced with a trigger, having a flashback or dissociating.
Keep your eyes open, look around the room, and make sure the light is good to stay in touch with the present.
Rate your mood before and after to test whether it worked. Before grounding, rate your level of
emotional pain, or your level of dissociation. Then re-rate it afterwards. Has it gone down?
Try not to make judgements or think negatively. The idea is to distract from the negatives.
Stay neutral—no judgments of good or bad.
Focus on the present, not the past or future.
Grounding is much more active than relaxation exercises and focuses your attention.
Tumblr media
Grounding is deemed to be a better way of coping with PTSD and dissociative disorders than relaxation practice. As during relaxation the focus is too much within the body, which at the worst may bring on flashbacks.

Introduction to Pyromancy, the Oracle of the Flame
Tumblr media
The flame is an apt representation the human spirit: it burns brightly and glows with each piece of encouragement. And, similarly, it can be snuffed out in instant. We seldom forget how dependent we are on that overzealous fireball that we call the Sun or that we merely exist because of that piece of cosmic mayhem that was the Big Bang. And now, fire presents itself with yet another purpose: divination.
Pyromancy, in conjunction with ceromancy and capnomancy, can provide incredibly accurate divination readings; however, it can be practiced on its own as well. It’s also an excellent aid in spirit work as the flame’s movements can help beginners interpret responses and information, much like a pendulum or runes.
Tools
Pyromancy is one of those crafts that doesn’t require a heavy investment; in fact, all you need is a candle!
Now, if you’d like, you can utilize incredibly elaborate pillar candles, hand-dipped candles and the like, but simple short dollar-store candles will work just as well for this. I don’t recommend using glass-encased candles unless the glass is clear: you need to be able to analyze the flame with unobscured vision.
Idea: For those of you that are druids, forest/nature witches, or outdoor enthusiasts, you can also interpret controlled fires, such as campfires, on your next excursion. Please do follow applicable laws and be safe.
Tumblr media
Interpretations
If the fire splits off into two or more flames, this indicates the presence of others (e.g. spirits, deities or humans) getting involved. If the twin flames rejoin to create a single flame, then there is a reunion with another individual or entity in your future. Continue interpreting the candle’s flame, or supplement with ceromancy or capnomancy, to determine the intentions of the individual.
If the candle does not light, this indicates that the question you wish to ask cannot be answered at this time. Perhaps try again at a later date or ask the question again using different tools, such as:
A candle of a different colour (violet candle versus gold candle)
A candle with a wood wick instead of a fibre wick
A candle that was handmade or hand-poured versus one that was commercial-made
A candle infused with herbs versus a plain candle
A different lighting tool, such as a special lighter or matches
If the candle flame is large or high, it means that there is a lot of power or success heading in your direction. You will encounter little to no resistance in your conquest.
If the candle flame is low, it means that there is discontent or struggle in your future. You will encounter much resistance. Consider casting protection spells or crafting charms to help offset the influence of these forces.
If the flame makes a crackling or popping sound, it indicates that there is a communication issue at present. Perhaps you yourself or someone in your life is speaking ill about another individual or gossiping about them. Perhaps you or a compatriot are failing to communicate issues in a healthy manner and it’s causing unnecessary frustrations and problems. Reflect on the purpose of the candle and your original question to determine which is the case.
Alternatively, if your question regarded another entity or spirit, this could be their way of attempting to communicate with you and establish a connection. Exercise caution, be respectful and listen - you may learn something important.
If the flame flickers, first be certain that a draft is not causing the unusual behaviour. Then, proceed to analyze it with the following:
If the flame pops whilst flickering, then the person will wish to communicate with you and establish a relationship of some kind.  If this is a question regarding deities, spirits or which path you will take and the candle flickers, it means that one of those will become very clear to you in the near future. Perhaps a deity or spirit will reach out; perhaps your true path will present itself to you in an unusual and unexpected way. Keep an eye out for such developments.
If the flame bounces or forms a tall spiral, then the individual involved in your question will be affected greatly by your choices and actions moving forward. If you are attempting to send a message, it is getting through. Additionally, if the flame becomes quite tall, consult overly-fast burning and fire hazard interpretations for a more accurate reading.
If the flame flares up and dies down repeatedly, then the individual in question is subconsciously aware of your plans or actions. They may be responding or providing their opinion on the matter, or perhaps fighting back with their own magical efforts.
If you are burning two or more candles marked for specific individuals and the flame leans or bends away from the other, the person is attracted to the individual and wishes to pursue some form of relationship with them. The candle with the taller flame indicates the dominant individual.
Along those same lines, if one candle’s flame actively bends away from the other candle’s flame or diminishes in its presence, then that individual is emotionally repulsed by the other.
If you attempt to blow out the candle and it does not go out, it means that positive outside forces are at work and they do not want you to extinguish the flame. Allow the spirits, deities or individual(s) to complete their work or request for permission to douse the flame (if necessary).
If the entire top of the candle catches fire, it indicates that great turmoil and complications are coming your way. To determine whether or not you will be successful when facing these obstacles, examine the rest of the candle - the wax and soot (ceromancy) and smoke (capnomancy).
Tumblr media
If the candle itself is burning up at an alarming or overly-fast rate, it indicates that you will experience success; however, it will be short-lived. This interpretation is taken from ceromancy and is one of the more common things that those practicing pyromancy experience. For additional interpretation:
If you have many candles lit, each for a particular individual, and one person’s candle is burning faster than the others, then that individual will be most affected by the situation in question. However, the influence and outcome will not produce a permanent change.
If one candle burns out hours or days before the others, the interpretation is up to your discretion. Some individuals would conclude that the outcome in question will be positive but temporary whilst others would conclude that the question needs to be asked again because the candle was faulty.
Regarding the previous outcome: it is entirely up to you to decide if you wish to light a new candle for this question. There are no rules regarding this and it’s best to allow your intuition to guide you through the craft. If that means that you use a pendulum above the new candle flame to ask the question, then go for it. Feel the need to use another method of divination, such as cartomancy or aeromancy to supplement the ask? Do it. Everyone has their own unique method(s) of handling unusual responses in divination, so do what feels right to you.
If the flame is tall and calm and produces no soot, a benevolent entity (e.g. spirit, deity) is present. They are here to offer assistance for the problem or issue at hand.
Similarly, if the flame is tall but aggressively flickering in large strokes, a ‘darker’ entity (e.g. spirit, deity) is present. Do not be alarmed for it, too, wishes to assist you in your quest.
If the candle tips over or the flames flare up into a potential fire hazard, then you are going to be faced with a very negative or dire situation. Perhaps someone close to you will pass away or be involved in a very serious accident. Perhaps you will face a battle or struggle immensely with upcoming life events. Perhaps there is danger in your immediate future. Please note that this outcome is based on what you are currently doing in your life. If you are aware of the action(s) creating this negative influence, and you have the ability to change or stop it, please do so.
If the flame goes out while burning, it can be indicative of one of the following:
If the candle has been burning unusually slowly and has gone out, then it means that the outcome you wish for will manifest; however, it will take time to come to fruition.
The Fates have already determined the events before you. This can also occur as a “final note” after you have read and interpreted other behaviours of the flame.
If your question was about prosperity, financial gain or reflection on a situation then it will be met with a negative outcome.
If your question was regarding a negative action towards another that you had intended to do, then you will be opposed by an entity that is protective of them or perhaps the individual in question. Additionally, they could also be reflecting the question or intended spell back onto the caster.
Tumblr media
If the flame has gone out while burning and you are relighting it, do so by channeling your intent or saying a small prayer. You may amplify the influence by utilizing herbs, crystals or other tools.
If the flame goes out a second time, this is a sign that you may need to use a stronger tool. Consider amplifying the question with more applicable candles, corresponding tools (e.g. crystals, herbs) or another divination method. Relight the candle and ask again with stronger and more focused intent.
If the flame goes out a third time, then attempt to mend the wick (potential issue) and ask for the blessing of one of your deities or spirit companions. Supplement the candle with additional tools and ask the question again.
If the flame continues to go out, then you need to stop. Take some time to reflect on your question and intent and revisit this at a later date.
If there are burn marks on the glass or wax, it means that you have a nemesis within your group of friends. Perhaps they are someone who poses as your compatriot but acts differently when you are not present, someone that is inclined to tarnish your reputation or someone that intends to make others turn on you and subsequently leave you. The individual could also be casting dark magic upon you in the form of curses, hexes or jinxes. Be alert and weed them out.
A healthy flame can indicate many different things depending on the colour and vibrancy of the centre.
A blazing red centre indicates that you are nearing the centre of the problem or issue to be addressed.
A dim red centre indicates that you will find yourself in a situation where you will have to confront someone about how their behaviour(s) or choices are influencing your livelihood. It is likely that they are unaware of how they are behaving and the situations resulting from it, so do not be aggressive. Instead, approach them with kindness, patience and understanding. Focus on how their actions make you feel and own those feelings - do not blame them. Ignorance is not a crime but an opportunity for someone to learn and grow.
If the wick of the candle starts building a bulb at its tip, then there is an individual actively working against you and keeping you from succeeding in your endeavours.
A lot of blue in the flame indicates that you have individuals or entities working in your favour. The are protecting you from something - perhaps an unfortunate or unhappy outcome.
To extinguish the flame: Use your thumb and index finger to put out the wick, or use a tool such as a candle snuffer. Magical or spiritual candles are never blown out.
——–
Please exercise caution when incorporating candles and fire into any practice and do not leave open flames unattended - especially near flammable objects or if you have pets. Also, as a safety precaution, keep a glass or jug of water (or fire extinguisher, if you have one, nearby in case of emergency.
Use common sense, please and do not practice pyromancy (or any type of craft with fire) in areas of drought. Follow local laws regarding campfires and controlled open flames.
Gifs belong to their respective owners and have been linked to their original posters on Tumblr.
Information has been collected by myself over 20 years of practice. The vast majority of it is from my time as a practitioner in Croatia and has been influenced by Croatia, Serbian, Bosnian and Polish folk magic practices and individuals that I have worked with. The interpretations I have listed above are ones that work consistently for me.
Other interpretations are just as valid and acceptable. Ultimately, pyromancy is simply a practice - you can mold it to your unique Craft and craft interpretations based on what works for you. Results may vary.
I will update the ‘capnomancy’ mentions with links once I have released that lesson.

Crystal formation Meaning
Tumblr media
Double Terminate- Configuration: A termination point, on both ends.
Properties Lore: The key of DT Crystals is moving energy. They can move energy easily through both ends for energywork, lightwork, crystal healing, or magickal ritual. They are also used for astral projection, dream work, and meditation.
Grounding- Configuration: An 8 sided face on the crystal.
Properties Lore: Grounding Crystals are rare and often misunderstood. They do not staple you to the ground with their energy, or lessen your spiritual reach. They do connect from the higher Spirit to the practical realm where they enhance practical use of crystal energies and other endeavors. They are helpful for stabilizing and reducing the spacey feeling that can come from working with many crystals. They are also used to express yourself in daily life to make communication practical, grounded, and useful.

How do Crystals Actually Work?
AKA: The basic science behind crystal-related metaphysics / Information about these semi-precious minerals!
Tumblr media
Photo: Cave of Crystals, Mexico
Hello there ~! As a witch and a constant crystal user, I have come across my fair share of skeptics. These people may have even presented themselves to you at one time; claiming that ‘crystal magick’ or ‘crystal healing’ methods are not at all effective or real, and giving you a bit of grief for your crystal usage and beliefs. Well, I’m here to give you a nice long post on the physics and properties of metaphysical stones! I also figured it would be nice to have an explanation post going around for all those who work with stones and crystals, yet have never considered the science behind their energies. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I feel that this is the type of post that will collect a few comments in my ask, so please be sure to handle any comments/questions you may have with patience, and I will gladly chat with you about the contents of this post! On the other hand, aggressive and/or rude messages will be deleted, if they should reach my message box ~ Thank you
Energy Explaination ◊
Crystals and stones have been treasured and sought after for hundreds of years and used in nearly every culture of the world. Not only are they beautiful, collectable, and make wonderful jewelry or trinkets; but crystals are very powerful subjects for energy movement and manipulation! These precious minerals use a type of energy called
* Piezoelectricity *
Which is a huge factor in why many crystals are commonly used to transmit energy in technology and devices, such as the computer or phone you may be reading this from. Along with the ability to transmit, they can also take in, enhance, or ‘mingle’ with the natural energies from your own body or with the energies of another organism/object to produce a desired outcome!
The chemical makeup of each type of stone determines what exactly it’s own energy will do when combined with a persons’ natural energy, and because everyone has a different energy, this is also the reason why we all have different responses to the energies of varying stones.
For example, although Rose Quartz and Smokey Quartz may both be in the same family of stone, their differences in formation and make-up will act in different ways.
Here are some interesting informational posts that go deeper into crystal energies and makeup:

The Natural Forming Process of Crystals - Smithsonian
How Shape Effects Energy ◊
Crystals, not only those used for jewelry, are often cut into specific shapes and sizes for personal use. Among the most common types are spherical/tumbled, pointed, and obilisk ~  And although you might not have considered the shape while thinking about crystal healing, meditation, or magick, it still plays an relatively important role! Here are a list of shapes and their best uses, as known by myself and collected from various sources:
(Cut) Pointed: Best used when energy is meant to be concentrated and strongly ‘pointed’ in only one specific direction. If a stone has more than one point, the energy will also tend to shoot in those multiple directions. (The second portion of this definition also fits for a crystal cluster piece, though those points are naturally formed rather than cut)
Raw/Natural: (Can included naturally pointed) Much like a crystal’s natural and seemingly random shape of growth, the energy of a raw stone will come out in a ‘blotted’ manner, and will most likely be emitted in different directions and frequencies from different areas of the stone, determined by the formation.
Spherical: The energies of a crystal sphere, much like those used for crystal ball scrying and divination, come out in a round and even manner; the smoother and more even the spherical shape of the ball, the smoother the energy will emit. Because it is completely round, energy will emit from all areas of the ball in even amounts.
Tumbled: (Similar to spherical) Crystals and stones that have been ‘tumbled’, or smoothed out - yet not into a sphere, will behave similar to the shape above. Although, because they are not completely round (just ‘soft-edged’) the energy will slightly differ in means of even-ness to that of a sphere.
Obilisk: A stronger version of the (cut) pointed stone, as the bottom of an obilisk-shaped crystal is solidly flat, and allowing for a more ‘grounded’ directional energy. Because these are meant to be displaced standing and pointing upwards, they are best used when energy is needed to be pointed up.
Now that I know these things, what could I do with crystals? ◊
Meditate with them
Create “Crystal Grids” ~ Tutorial post here
Aline and balance your bodys’ natural energy points with crystals (Also known as ‘Chakras’, first introduced in Hindu texts)
Use stones and crystals to create a desired effect or feeling (They can be used for love, physical & mental healing, focus, grounding, balancing, communication, emotional subjects, strengthening mental/metaphysical abilities, cleansing, etc.) ~ List of Crystal Properties (by name)
Create amulets from stones/crystals
Craft them into keychains/pocket keepsakes to carry with you for everyday use (Be sure to take gentle care of softer stones that scratch easily!)
Mixing up a gem elixer (see tips below; some stones are toxic to water)
And many more! While I could not list everything you could possibly do with these treasured pieces of earth, there are likely more options that I have never even explored myself
Extra Crystal Tips ◊
Some stones are toxic to water, and/or may ruin or dissolve when come in contact with it! Click HERE for a list of crystals that do not enjoy water, along with the materials that make them this way
In metaphysics, crystal magick, and technology, quartz is the universal substitute for all stones. Quartz can be physically and technologically programmed with an extremely high amount of data, and can also be programmed with intent for personal, healing, and magickal use. Think of quartz as the ‘empty jar’ of crystals: filled with possibility
When buying stones and crystals online, make absolute sure that you order from someone who a.) has positive and over 10+ reviews, and b.) will be willing to tell you the EXACT measurements and dimensions of the product. Too many online stores will trick you into buying a stone that is smaller than you were led to think upon purchase! I also recommend buying from someone who will provide insurance over fragile crystals possibly broken during shipping
When cleansing them, be sure to choose a method that is best for each type of stone. Some may fade in sunlight, dissolve or ruin in water, react badly with salt, etc. Do your research!
If the chemical makeup of a lab-produced crystal is the exact same to the makeup of a naturally-formed one, the only things that will differ between the stones are the frequency rates of energy they emit (a lab-produced stone would not be as powerful as a naturally formed one), and the energies they contain. Contained energies aren’t so important as the frequencies, as stones and crystals can be “cleansed” (cleared out / turned into a ‘blank-slate’) by multiple methods.
If you are wondering whether or not you have any crystal/mineral stores near you, try searching google maps with the terms “crystal”, “mineral”, or “metaphysical” - as these will usually yield the best results!
After acquiring a stone, it is best to cleanse out the energies that may have been transferred into it by the formation process or by other people handling it
If you feel fatigued, sick, head/body pain, or any sort of discomfort while using a stone for metaphysical purposes (on more than one occasion) give it a good cleanse before further use
Thank you for reading!
I hope everyone learned a thing or two from this gathering of information, and as always, feel free to send me any questions or comments you may have! I’m sure I will think of a few more things to add to this post, so similar to my Witch Types post, I may post updated versions as needed.
Hope you’re all having a lovely day! ◊ Rainy

Potions, Brews and Concoctions
Infusions : An infusion is something steeped in a liquid. Either water, oil, juice or wine. Generally used for drinking or bathing yourself or other objects.
Potion : A potion is basically an enchanted infusion, used for the same things infusions are used for. An object can be put into this during brewing to add to it and then removed before drinking. E.g crystals and stones (obviously make sure they are non-toxic and clean before adding them.
Brew : A brew is a potion that is solely meant for consumption.
Elixir : An elixir is meant to give health and vitality. Different from an infusion as with elixirs powders and extracts are dissolved into and alcohol or water base and sweetened with honey or mashed fruits. As with everything these can be enchanted
Oil : An oil is made by extracting natural oils from plants. Essential oils are the pure extraction with nothing added to dilute it. An oil infusion is when you steep herbs in the oils and when you blend the oils and add a base oil it is known as an oil blend.
Powder : A powder (this one is very obvious) is when herbs, spices and minerals are ground together and enchanted.
Sachet : A sachet is a small fabric bag filled with herbs and fragrant objects.
Bath : this specific bath requires an infusion or sachet to be added. For magical or meditative purposes.
Ointment : An ointment is a salve made with enchanted herbs and others, rubbed on for effect.

Witchcraft 101: Uncrossing
Tumblr media
“Uncrossing is the removal of a type of curse or ‘cross’ that has been laid upon an individual that makes a certain area of their lives difficult because of negative energy that is attached to them, causing them to see and experience only difficulties in that area. Uncrossing removes this negativity, allowing the person to move forward.” —Silvio Guerrinha.
Simply put: uncrossing is the act of undoing any baneful magic(s) that have been cast upon oneself.
Before you attempt an uncrossing, you must first determine whether your run of bad luck or the spate of negative occurrences has a mundane or magical origin. You can do this in a number of ways, but the general consensus is to look for the sudden onset of issues such as: nightmares, sleeping trouble, loss of energy (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual), bad luck, financial and relationship trouble.  *Of course it is possible that all of these have routes in non-magical things, but these are said to be signs of a curse, hex, or jinx of some kind.
If you work with entities or deities, you may ask them for clarification or confirmation on this issue.
The term uncrossing is used widely, but a lot of the magics you see will have their origins in Hoodoo and Voodoo, so be cautious (Hoodoo is not a closed cultural practise, but a restrictive one. Voodoo/Vodou is not closed, but it is restrictive and requires a legitimate initiated teacher).
• TYPES OF UNCROSSING MAGICS
Uncrossing magics come in myraid forms—practically every form of magic can be utilised in an uncrossing. Common examples are:
Floor/house/body washes.
Anointing oils.
Powders.
Sachets.
Charms/Enchantments.
Talismans.
Examples of Uncrossing Magics
Mild & Spicy Curse Breaking Powders.
Curse Removing Wash.
Uncrossing Powder.
Lemon Uncrossing Spell [sachet].
• COMMON INGREDIENTS IN UNCROSSING MAGICS
You will notice that there are a few recurring ingredients in uncrossing magics. This is because of their notable strength and power in undoing baneful magic by repelling negativity, purification, cleansing, and protection.
Lemon.
Lime.
Orange.
Eucalyptus.
Chamomile.
Salt.
Mint.
Rosemary.
Sage.
Basil.
Patchouli.
Sandalwood.
Verbena.
Rue.
Garlic.
Vetiver.
Broken chain.
Ribbon.
String.
Black Tourmaline.
Clear Quartz.
Lemongrass.
St. John’s Wort.
Dragon’s Blood [resin].
