I always liked the anime illustrations in the original NES Zelda manual, and it saddened me to find out these weren’t actually part of a real animated promotion for the game. So I decided to take those illustrations and re-create them as if they were!
Enjoy this long-lost VHS promotion for the Legend of Zelda on the Nintendo Entertainment System!

Not to be a bitch but sometimes people engage with fiction in the most boring way possible, and nowhere is this clearer than in videogames. Like what you mean you hate a character just because they were kind of abrasive when speaking to the player character? "They were mean to me" and it didn't occur to you to wonder why? Like, what might their attitude toward you reveal about the world? About the social dynamics within it? About their own perspectives and backgrounds and personalities? Does it even occur you to ask? Would you only have liked them if they bowed to your presence and talked about how great you are? Like I'm sorry but you're so boring. How boring fiction would be if it cathered to you

I have decided that this rundown urban town will be placeholder-named Darlington (p sure that's too many characters for the actual name)
The current list of villagers has changed to: Egbert, Tabby, Cherry, Moose, Graham, Bree, Molly, Vladimir. That covers all 8 personalities. As for extra villagers, I'm considering perhaps Nibbles (I love how hyperactive she looks), Wart Jr., Bud, or Biff
I have a list of villagers ready to go whenever the next Animal Crossing releases. These villagers aren't the face of Animal Crossing, they aren't Lucky or Stitches or Coco, but they're my faves and come together to make the essence of an Animal Crossing population
(Egbert, Tabby, Rizzo, Ribbot, Mathilda, Graham, Cherry, Vladimir, Molly, Moose)

Update from VortiCity:
I gave Timbra the catchphrase "Eh," and Frita "Hot dog."
Timbra has spread her catchphrase to her neighbors, Simon and Pietro.
Frita spread hers to Marina and Rasher.
There is now a gang of Canadians and a gang of Americans on my island. :/ Oh boy. In this political climate I worry about them

I do want to shoutout the Veilguard team for giving us such a beautiful piece of art in what had to be the worst of circumstances. The game’s industry is in a bad way and has been for a long time. We are seeing what happens when you commodify artistry and unfortunately it’s not unique to gaming. The fandom consuming media quickly and greedily with no regard for the creators are just as susceptible to this attitude as the developers and that’s something we all have to reckon with. I’ll be honest I’m surprised we even got Veilguard at all.
Which is why I praise this game as hard as I do. They stood by marginalized fans harder than ever. They made a lore accurate game. They made something that ties so many more lore threads together and gave us more to chew on. They gave us wonderfully written story about processing trauma and letting go of regret. It’s gorgeous and fun to play. It has my favorite protagonist and my favorite group of companions. My favorite romances too.
If I’m not gonna let the broader fandom tell me how to enjoy Dragon Age, I’m sure not going to let corporations tell me how either. I will continue to support fanworks however I can. Not to mention write my own.
Whatever else happens I have four Dragon Age games that I love and a lot of cool friends in the fandom I’ve connected with. I’m writing again. That wouldn’t have happened without Veilguard and as a long-time fan, I know I’m sticking around. I’m not interested in an autopsy of something that isn’t dead yet.

Isabelle used the phrase "[...] your enjoyment of our island," and it occurs to me that in no point in the game do you like, own the island. Tom Nook owns the island, (or do he and Isabelle own it jointly / as a company...?) and he just lets you do shit on it
Does that make him a landlord? But you don't pay rent; and, you own an actual house. But not the land it sits on... Money-wise Tom Nook only makes what you pay him, for building the house and Cranny items and island customizations. Wait, who owns the bridges and inclines?
Suddenly I need to know how the legal stuff works in ACNH
#And also do they do this in Japan. Does this make sense to the Japanese audience#Gut says no but you never know#ACNH#Animal Crossing#Tom Nook

Does anyone know any Japanese or other international Dream Addresses, or where to find them? I'm sad that it appears I can only get Dreams from my own country.

Roswell is driving me absolutely batty. It was his first day in VortiCity yesterday, and I couldn't find him anywhere. Now, today, I DID find him (after a while), but I can't give him the fossil doorplate I have for him for some reason.

Obsessed with the narratively buried supernatural aspects of Animal Crossing. So, Redd's a kitsune who uses whatever magicks he has on his forgeries (ex. some of his failed paintings' change if you face away). Are kitsune and foxes different, or is a kitsune just a fox with powers? I assume the furniture-to-leaves thing is Tom Nook's doing, since he's a tanuki. Is that normal?
Luna is a baku, a tapir-like creature who feeds off of dreams. Lyle is implied to have worked alongside Redd back when he sold insurance; he and his niece may be kawauso, mythological river otter tricksters. And, of course, Kapp'n and his family are kappa, straight up. Is this all Tuesday for animal folk, or is it secret, or what? Why doesn't anybody talk about it.

I resdesigned Pietro's house and I love it but since I did it at night I accidentally made it super dark, and then I forgot to put balloons down, which I was going to do as the last step. I'll fix it later
Roswell's moving in tomorrow! I should resdesign Simon's house next. I like it, but it's space-themed and that's Roswell's thing. I think Simon needs an upgrade anyway. Since his hobby is 'play' and I give him all of the costumes I find (medieval, astronaut, etc.) I'd like his new home theme to be roleplay/LARPing
