              “No, you’re not.. you’re starting to swell..” Celestia eyed the rapidly               swelling area with concern, her frown only growing. She’d have to               put a stop to this, make sure ponies stopped bullying Discord like               this. This was Harmony academy, not a place for bullies to grow               and thrive. She wouldn’t stand for it. “We need to get some ice on               that, it should prevent the swelling from getting too bad. I know a               cooling spell that might help until we can you to an ice pack, though..” 

              She leaned forward, and gently placed the tip of her horn against               his cheek, letting her magic seep through. She’d learned a cooling               spell rather recently, and was good at it, she’d found. She let the               cooling sensation spread over his cheek, before she pulled back.                “Feel any better?”

              “But you’re right, we should finish cleaning this up tomorrow, I               think we’ve had enough for one day.” She hesitated briefly,               uncertain if she should ask, but.. well, he had gotten her extremely               curious. 

                               “..What were you going to ask me..?”

    “… I’m fine.” he was hurt, but it isn’t something one would quickly expect as     while one side of his face was clearly red and needed an ice pack to make     the stinging sensation subside, mentally he crumbled over the thought of     humiliating not just for his sake, but Celestia’s.

        He rarely asked anypony to be friends, let alone take a step up to hear         what somepony as beautiful as Celestia would say on being asked to         the Enchanted Sea Junoir Prom by someone of his… ilk. Maybe the book         to the face was a sign that he hold back on his question for now, not when         his reputation was literally atrocious to most of the ponies in the academy.

    The way she looked him over with worry, a gesture so foreign to him it     made his heart feel something so new he’d never felt before and her     voice left him silent and observant of what she would do next. She was     so beautiful and he was… he was Discord. He would let others laugh in     his face but he isn’t going to be the cause of others laughing at Celestia.     They would be friends, but he isn’t going to ruin a big night for her in the     coming months. “Thank you. We should… we can continue cleaning this     mess up tomorrow.”
