joe strummer working as a grave digger at st woolos cemetery, newport, wales. apparently, he was too week to actually dig graves, and instead rolled the barrel around and picked up garbage around the site

excerpt from record mirror on 23 april 1977, after the clash were advertised to play at the roundhouse, but later replaced by generation x. according to bernie rhodes, john cale was "not radical enough", and the clash didn't want to tour with him anymore.

crucial questions: is this simonon in this pic? caption says its him, a comment says its geldof
WELL NOW YOU GOT ME WONDERING. someone in the comments said they did analysis of their earlobes and said it's geldof sooo you know. i guess that's right HOWEVERR

geldof in 1970 ish and simonon in 1980ish
i would say they have. similar noses but geldof's is the most similar to the og picture .. don't wanna get on the ears yet because paul is older here and his ears kind of got bigger. i'd say simonon's jaw is the most similar but again he was a couple years older in this pic

geldof in 1980ish and simonon in 1977
judging by the hair it's much more similar to geldofs in the 70s rather than paul (at least in this picture) the eyebrows and ears are also pointing to geldof (darker and thicker eyebrows and bigger ears)

also this picture has paul smiling but his nose doesn't curl down like the og picture soooo.... i come to the conclusion it's bob.... anyone else got ideas???

article on joe strummer's hepatitis in nme on feb 25 1978
So I stepped off the plane from sunny, healthy California expecting The Clash to be phenomenal live — and they were. And if Joe Strummer performs even better when he isn’t yellow and about to go into hospital .. well, I can’t see how that’s really possible.
